Why is it so dam hard to chose? I spent 3 hours trying to see which one was better and there’s mixed reviews from both sides. Others will say one mouse is trash, others will love it. At this point I’m giving up lol
EDIT: I ended up buying both, and I am slightly liking the basilisk more.

@@rostyslavmochulskyi159 I bought both, but I kept the basilisk. The Logitech was a bit more heavier for gaming and the scroll wheel was rougher than the basilisk. Logitech’s was nice too, but the amount of RGB customization on the Basilisk is so much better. Logitech has a more simple software. I guess the positive thing about Logitech is that it has onboard memory so you don’t need to constantly run the software in the background and you can save custom profiles according to your DPI settings. With the Razer, you have to run the software to load your effects, but if that doesn’t bother you.. go with basilisk. Honestly both are good, but I would go for Basilisk if you want more customization.

I'm slowly leaving razer. I used to love their products. but I but a razer huntsman elite and my volume knob is trash. the wrist rest is more like a wrist breaker. I had the Razer mamba hyperflux. my mouse would legit disappear on my display until I reset the mouse, randomly during use. My basilisk V2 did the same thing. I'd have to either plug in or restart the mouse cleanly. I'm learning that razer isn't a good as I thought it used to be, and I was a mega fan boy.

I had to RMA my first one because the scroll click got a little wonky, but this second one has been working fine. When I see the wireless one on sale for cheap some day I'll definitely pick it up.

I own the g502 x, it's a premium feeling mouse - nice upgrade on the 2014 g502 I used previously. Switches are crisp and clicky, side button soft with no pre or post travel. Build quality excellent! It is what it says on the tin, heavier side of mice - great for productivity and I use it for any game that's not fps, although I have used for fps on high sense it's fine but micro adjustments are slightly hard. Just got my lamzu atlantis paired with artisan hayate otsu fx soft and oh man, world of difference.

I owned Razer peripherals for years and it took a long time for me to accept they just are not of the same durable quality of Logitech. ALL my Razer products that I ever used died in 12-18 months time in one way or another. At first I thought I was just unlucky so I kept buying them but eventually I learned, just don't buy Razer. They are absolutely dogshit unless you only care if they work for 1-2 years max and in some cases much shorter. Logitech on the other hand generally last so long I replace them, not because they are broken, but because I'm just tired of using the same one after 4+ years.

For those who are going to buy g502x. That scroll mode switching sound is incredibly loud. For me, this is an unacceptable volume level. This toggle button appears to be used frequently, but its volume level just isn't meant to be used too often. Therefore, I returned this mouse on the same day as I bought it. Also the mouse wheel is REALLY loud. In this video, it is no coincidence that Razer's wheel is spinning quieter.
The rest of the moments were not so important for me, you can get used to them. For example, the mouse wheel doesn't feel well-fixed, but perhaps this disadvantage is due to the ability to tilt it on both sides. It is also worth paying attention to the crispy sounds during pressing. Crispy clicks is not just mentioned in the reviews, it can be annoying. But I'm sure someday you'll get used to it
I was choosing the mouse for MMORPGs and strategy games, where the mouse wheel is often used to control the camera. That's why it's important for me to have a good mouse wheel and lots of buttons. Now I have a bloody TL80 (in my country at the time of purchase in 2018 it cost 3 times less than the g502x now costs)

I got both in hand rn because I couldn't decide. The Basilisk imo feels better in every way. The scroll wheel is dead silent except for the clutch mechanism at the end. The clicks sound better to me, the G502x rings and has like a reverb to it? Almost hollow sounding. Not a fan of it. Bluetooth connectivity is also huge, super useful for laptops and taking it to class and other places.
The only reason I'm still considering the G502x is because I got it at half the price because bestbuy had the non-RGB version on sale + 20% off coupon for recycling an old mouse. The Basilisk is 100% better I believe, but is it $80 better when I don't care about the RGB? Thats the question. I also have questions of reliability. I'm confident the G502x will last and can easily be RMAd. not sure about the Basilisk

I have the razer, but the logitech is a pretty good contender I wouldn't mind using also. As mice use are very personal, I'd chose the B3 pro because I value the sensor a lot and I also prefer optical switches to for me not crisppy but louder hybrid switches combining optical/mechanical tech. That said both mice are "beasts" and any of them will serve you pretty well. A curiosity, I don't use this shape for gaming but rather for daily bases use, in which it's comfort will be unmatchable when compared to real "pro" segment, like the razer viper 2 pro, razer deathadder v3 pro, the here not yet released Logitech G Pro X superlight 2 with hero 2 sensors (it makes a lot of difference to me regarding the original), the lamzu thorn with 4kzh hyperpolling and sensor Pixar 3395 and optical switches, a couple of vaxee, the endgame gear xm2w, and for smaller mice the lamzu atlantis also 4kzh and, you may call me crazy but I do like it's performance regarding being overweighted, the razer cobra pro, also Focus Pro gen 3 sensors and optical switches. Great video, very appealing, I got a lot of fun watching it, guess I'll also subscribe. Cheers.

Something to consider is that the basilisk can only remap the functions of the mouse. The logitech can assign any key to any button on the mouse, whether it’s left click, or the letter A etc. Also in order for some of the buttons to work on the basilisk, it must be plugged in to a PC only while running synapse the logitech works on Mac as well as PC. For me, having a larger hand and being able to grip a keyboard from top to bottom with no issue... the basilisk seems to fit my hand better. that being said, I have to swap between multiple mice a day (I'm an IT person)... so I am slightly biased when it comes to how mice feel, being used to some really terrible feeling mice.
That being said... again... the G502 lightspeed I have, feels considerably worse to move around (coincidentally on a logitech mouse mat), where the razer basilisk ultimate and v3 both feel smooth ... and almost weightless honestly.
I also think I prefer the design of the larger scroll wheel being easier to interact with as well, the g502's wheel on the lightspeed model I have is fine, but the click latency is over 5ms so i'm possibly selling it and buying a v3 pro, or maybe just another mouse all together.

Smart-Reel on the Razer is a gimmick, it is much more relialible to just hit the button thats right there than spin it and hope it engages. Logitec dropped the feature 10 years ago, it just didn't work well in practice. It is nice to finally see other mice getting free-spin though.

    • @gabrielgaspar3744
      @gabrielgaspar3744 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I don't think that the "did not work well in practice" is actually factual. I currently use a Logitech Master 3S which does have the smart reel functionality and it works WONDERS. I actually like it so much that I always leave the smart reel to full sensitivity so that I can easily shift into loose scroll mode easily. That allows me to switch from gaming to programming and back without any configuration or additional button press needed. I do miss the 1000Hz polling rate for gaming though, so seeing Razer's Basilisk offering me both smart reel and high polling really has caught my attention. Now if Razer actually offers me the same quality that Logitech does is another matter entirely, and I really do not have an answer for that .

most games support at least 2k polling rate - Did you just randomly add that? Do the games say that on their description? 4k polling is a very small difference visually and generally you won't have any advantage over anyone using 1k polling in game - hence why 80% of the pro players are still on Logitech, Zowie, Vaxee, Xtrfy. And 8k? There's alot of games that don't play stable with 8khz. You're a classic case of someone who gets fooled by numbers.

@@tywoods7234 Apologies, I should’ve said “I’m pretty sure” as most people I’ve asked have said that they play 2k polling rate on their mice (that have the feature) with no issue but bump it down if the game doesn’t support it. Also, I’m pretty sure u process physical touch far quicker than what u see. Therefore, even if I can’t see the effect real-time, u SHOULD be able to feel the difference in 0.75ms (difference between 1k to 4k) but I have yet to try it - that’s the only reason I’m curious 🤷‍♂️
Idk why u felt the need to come at me but I’m just a curious don. Another thing I wanna mention is that we already know games like Apex, Valorant, and Overwatch 2 all support upwards of 8k polling rate.

@@ViberzRLdude, 1kHz polling is already insane. We used to play at 256Hz not thaaaat long ago and it was OK. Even if you have an insane monitor, the very top of the top end, at 365Hz, at 1kHz pooling rate you're checking the position of the mouse almost 3 times between each frame, there's LITERALLY 0 chance any human could sense the difference. At 2KHz or 4kHz you're basically just increasing CPU load and reducing the mouse battery life for no reason. The main reason mice started increasing the pooling rate in the past was to increase maximum Gs, since very quick flick shots could cause the mouse to lose tracking. This problem has been loooooong solved, there's no way you can flick your mouse fast enough that it loses tracking.

I'm thinking about buying an anti-sweat mouse grip or something like that...

@@Kevin_silvaaguiar sweating was the same for me, and my assumption was it's because the narrow profile of basilisk v3 meant the end of my palm/start of wrist area was constantly touching the mousepad, my grip style just felt more closed in and there was very little space to 'breathe', i could push my hand further up the mouse to adjust but then my thumb would be directly resting on the sniper button lol
if you find the shape comfortable though i'd say that's good enough, i had other comfort issues besides the sweating, the hardware of the mouse is top tier among all the wired options with this "g502 style" shape

I can tell from experience that the logitech switches are crap that stop working if it's to hot.

Just build your own! CNC machine and 3d printing and you are set.
