  • In this video, I'm comparing the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro and the Logitech G502 X Lightspeed. I'll be looking at specs, features, and how they compare against each other. Which one is the best choice for you?
    These are two very similar mice in terms of aesthetic, design and have comparable specs too. They both have fast spin mouse wheels, optical switches and masses of buttons. They're both also upgradable so you can use them with wireless charging mats or docks so you don't need to plug them in. On paper the Razer mouse is the better of the two, with better specs but the Logitech G502 X has a better mouse wheel and more buttons, as well as a superior wheel.

    Good comparison, thanks. I wish you commented on the scroll wheel click feedback as I think it's something so important that get overlooked by almost every reviewer. For example, I love the G502 and G502 Lightspeed but the wheel click feedback is terrible to the point I don't use it in any game because of how bad it feels to press. Are there any improvements in the new G502 X models? How is it in the Basilisk Ultimate and V3 Pro? Which one would you say feel better to press as a click?

    • @joeblackisback1
      @joeblackisback1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can clearly say that the Razer has the better click on the mouse wheel. That is also the reason why I switched from Logitech to Razer. I play games where you have to click the mouse wheel a lot, for example for the camera view. With Logitech, your finger quickly hurt after a few clicks or continuous clicking. With the Razer, it's a totally pleasant feeling. Similar to pressing the left or right mouse button.

      I owned a Razer Bassilisck Ultimate for a year and 3 months, until the Middle scroll wheel and the Left click became a double clicker and scrolling up or down became impossible.
      Thankfully it was within warranty, so i waited for a new one (they sent me a brand new one) for some reason, and i honestly used it in a pretty casual manner.
      Overall if the Bassilisck did not have any QA issues it'd be an amazing mouse. Id reckon the V3 Pro might have simillar concerns.
      The G502 X Plus i have now for over 3 weeks and it feels, works amazing! Like a dream!
      If its like my old G502 Hero(one of the first editions) hopefully the new one lasts 6 years like my old Logitech G502. It was a real warrior, R.i.P. my old companion..... 😂

    I am considering moving from the V3 Pro to the 502 Lightspeed (older version). My V3 pro clicks when the computer turns off - it requires a restart to hopefully get it to stop clicking. It is the mouse wheel electronic switch that just clicks on and off constantly. The 502 looks nice and the metal / rubber scroll wheel on the Lightspeed makes me want it more than a standard 502. Would the new 502 X be a better choice than the older one?

      The Lightspeed is known for many doubleclick issues and sadly click problems from the mousewheel , the Lightspeedx has better switches and a nicer scrollwheel , also it weights less if i am correct , so yeah it makes sense ,alone for the click issues :) ! As the other user said, some people complain their lightspeed got double click issues. The x also has some other upgrades like hybrid optical switches, ptfe feet, easier to hit buttons next to the left mouse button, easier to hit sniper button. But the thing that ruins the g502 x for me is that it's got a weird hump on the right side of the mouse. Which makes it a lot less comfortable for me compared to the lightspeed (I have both)

      Here's my experience from owning both the G502 Lightspeed and 502X. The clicks/switches on the G502 are lighter, easier to actuate causing less fatigue, while the 502X switches are noticeably harder to actuate but they do feel solid and robust. Scroll wheel rubber feels better on the G502, while on the G502X its more slippery. The only thing I like in the 502X is the improved Gshift button which is closer and easier for your thumb to reach and actuate, so if you use macros alot then this would be priority. Personally I prefer the G502 Lightspeed.

    I went with the Logitech G502 X because I've had issues with Razer, Also I have a G 413 Keyboard so I don't want 2 separate apps running to work the profiles for my peripherals and games. I don't notice the weight anymore coming from a G 305 and 302. What I do wish is they somehow added a few more buttons to the G303 because I prefer that odd shape. Get the basilisk honestly. I hae a g502 lightspeed and the X. The lightspeed is more comfortable than the x. The X has some improvements over the lightspeed. The PTFE feet, the easier to press buttons next to the left click, the easier to press "sniper button" (remap that asap, all those buttons are on dpi for some reason, who changes dpi that often and having a dpi slow down button is horrible for your muscle memory). It's also a bit lighter and has USB C (and a much longer battery life). But it's less comfortable, lacks the rgb if you care about that (I don't personally). And if you want to use it on the PS5, custom profile maps work on the ps5 with the lightspeed but not with the X.
    The basilisk is the same price as the regular X and has more features. The scroll wheel doesn't scroll as endlessly as the basilisk. But the most important thing is that it has that incredible new razer sensor which is the best on the market and you can upgrade it to an insane 8000 polling rate in the future.

    @The Provoked Prawn, Thank you for your video. It helped me feel confident enough to swap out to the Baslisk and give it a go.
    The force required to actuate the buttons on the Razzer is a little higher than the Logitech. This is good as the logitech is far to sensitive and just having my fingers on the mouse was enough to trigger the button accidentaly. Also I have had 2 of the 502 scroll wheels just stop working and this is a known problem for sometime even with older versions, YIKES (Granted I have only had the Baslisk v3 Pro for a few months so far, fingers crossed). I think having bluetooth functionality in a wireless device in 2023 is a good thing weldone to Razer for using thier noodles on this. Also the Logi 502 maybe lighter (too light for some) it does have little balancing weights you can plug into the underside to help make it suit you. both have compareable software, I think that Razzers is a little more freindly compared to Logitech's. But the Logi 502 does have onboard memory letting you keep your settings on the mouse where ever you go. Overall atm I prefer the Baslisk v3 pro though I do miss the 502.

      if scroll wheel is your main concern, I'm afraid it's a dark path ahead. I've had 4 razer mice till now Deathadder elite, basilisk V2, basilisk X, and basilisk ultimate, every single one has had a horrible scroll wheel, it randomly scrolls in whatever direction when I try to use it. had a g502 and hyperion for years , never had the same issue.

  • @primarqo
    @primarqo ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Logitech G502 X Lightspeed is the most versatile mouse on the market, period. After I bought this new version, I stopped using everything else like G Pro X, Deathadder v2, G303. This mouse has ideal weight, it isn't stupidly light, it has enough buttons for keybinds in every game, originally I was buying it for melee fps games, like chivalry where you need to bind each attack, but then I started using it in more and more games and I figured out that my aim with g502 is much better in FPS Shooters, better than with my previous main - the G Pro X, so the G Pro X became just a backup mouse.. I have had also the old version twice, one had problems with doubleclick and second with those thin black feets, which worned out so I stopped using it.. Thankfully this new version is finally using white PTFE feets, and great switches which don't have any issues, so in my opinion this new mouse don't have any disadvantages now, seriosly... I was also looking for Basilisk, but it has 11 buttons which is not enough for melee fps games and also in some other games I'm missing those the two additional buttons on LMB for index finger. I really recommend this mouse to everyone, buy it and you won't be dissapointed and best thing is - you won't need anything else and thanks to new feets it will last lifetimes (I hope the battery will last long).. ps Basilisk is just poor copy of G502.

      If you’re referring to onboard memory profiles, the g502x is better at that. You can save up to 5 onboard memory profiles including (dpi, macros, actions, commands, RGB, etc) and it will work on different PCs, you can also uninstall the software and the profiles will still work since they are stored into the mouse.
      Razer basically forces you to use their trash software (24/7) just to keep an RGB effect, which proves why Logitech is 10x better.

    I don’t know if I just got unlucky, but I’ve had 2 of the razer basilisks and my scroll wheel feels slightly messed up, for example, when I go to switch weapons with the scroll wheel in fortnite, the action wouldn’t happen even after the wheel moved to the next space, unless I moved it a little extra, besides that the mouse is perfect

I've considered the V3 Pro as I'd like it to share my DeathStalker V2's dongle as well as the Razer software, but I'm worried the V3 will have the same issue with the wheel, plus I disliked the right click button extending to the edge, which for my grip caused accidental clicks. @cmdrdredd ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have tested both of them, I find Logitech g502 lightspeed (white one)more premium, overall build quality is slightly better, even though razer specs are better, you won’t use 30,000 dpi. But if you go for a mouse with ultimate performance, you should buy razer viper v2 pro or viper mini signature edition

    • @3choblast3r4
      @3choblast3r4 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Viper v2 pro and basilisk v3 pro have the same sensor and specs. They differ in weight. But basilisk offers more buttons etc. The hero sensor is pretty good though. I have the lightspeed and the g502 x. The lightspeed is more comfortable, by far. They both feel the same quality. But the lightspeed variant is far more comfortable, the X has a weird hump on the side that ruins the feel. That said the lightspeed has switches that can get double click over time apparently. While the x has hybrid optical switches.
      The basilisk has optical switches. And the razer sensor. You probably will never use 30k DPI. But that's not the point of such a high DPI capability. Even if you only use 600dpi the the mouse is more accurate because it can do higher dpi. I personally use 3200 on both my 502's (lightspeed and x) and that's already much higher than the average person uses. I use 3200 because it has the least amount of latency and after that it's very diminishing returns or even unoticable with latency. Even from 1600 to 3200 isn't that big apparently. But why not just push it to the limit and just lower sens in games (then again, I play on relatively high sens, I have like a 7 or 8 cm 360)

    I prefer the Logitech mice as I don't have to install any crummy software to customize the important settings (like extra button binds and DPI). @@NippleSaucewhat about the rgb settings? Do you have to constantly have Logitech’s software running in the background to keep your rgb and dpi settings? I have the Basilisk and the software is very buggy, you have to keep it running just to keep your rgb settings. I will end up returning it because of how trash the software is

    • @NippleSauce
      @NippleSauce ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mysticqro950 Yeah, there is an option to change the RGB colors as well. You can only change one color setting without the constantly running software though - so Logitech's newer mice that have multiple LED areas wouldn't be as customizable. But, you can definitely set all of the different color areas to one particular color setting. And I am happy with one color setting if it means less CPU resources are being wasted on that useless, always running mouse software haha.
      But the best part is that you would never even have to install any Logitech software to customize any of their mice settings. That always running software is completely optional and isn't needed for much so long as you keep your mouse buttons consistent from game to game (because the mouse settings won't automatically change depending on what game is opened - as the always running software is what handles stuff like that).
      DPI settings stay the same as well. All of that information (keybinds, color setting, DPI) is stored directly in the mouse's memory.

    I like both, but based on my experience, I dislike the Logitech one more despite wanting to love it more than Razer's offerings. Logitech's optical switches pretty much replaced the copper contacts with a laser sensor for actuation, but the "clicky" mechanism that uses the fragile leaf-spring remains almost entirely the same as with their previous mice and is a big NOPE for me. Their great mice like the G600 used the same leaf-springs for their switches from Omron for many many years now and those just seemed to not last for me. Razer's optical switches have lasted me for a long time on the other hand. They moved to optical switches because of the same double-click issue the leaf-springs originally had.
