How would there be no obstacles? This opens up the possibility for Ethan Page and Lambert to interfere
@@duhlorean5991 I never claimed that Lambert & Page wouldn’t interfere, obviously they will, but the point being that Scorpio gave Wardlow an immediate title shot without making him jump through a single hoop. Typically, that’s not how heel champs operate.
Shawn spears interferes and helps Wardlow - probably get a big pop 🤔
@@Voysh2Voysh69 Wardlow said that he's tired of talking and that he'll do anything for that title shot. Hell, he'll even take on ATT if he has to. But Scorpio suggests a street fight where he knows he'll have the advantage and somehow that's a fumble? If anything what Scorpio did is smarter because:
A) He won't waste weeks seeing Wardlow destroy his allies
B) He'll be able to humiliate Wardlow while still using his friends to do it.
Wardlow challenged him to throw any hurdle at him and Sky did just that.
@@duhlorean5991 remember when the babyface had to pass trials and tests to get to the heel, and the heel did everything to prevent the babyface to get to him, or at least to cripple him beforehand. Yeah, classic wrestling that booker of the year dont seem to grasp, because he has to hot-shot everything, because otherwise the product sucks

AEW needs to make room for cutting promos on Dark because people like Wardlow and Deeb could really benefit from it away from live television
Deeb & Mercedes are both better promos than wardlow
@@NY32986 from what I've seen of Deeb in AEW that's not saying much. They make great prerecorded promos but they stumble over words in front of live audiences just like Brock and Bobby Lashley does

Wardlow has never worked a full match in AEW that wasn’t a squash. They don’t want to squash Scorpio so they have to cover up the fact that Wardlow can’t work. Street fight let’s them walk around and hit each other with stuff. They’ve got to take the training wheels off eventually but I’m getting the impression that he isn’t near ready.
I can tell you exactly what will happen in the street fight. There won't be fuck all of a match because Junior Dos Santos, Andre Arlovski and Etc will attack Wardlow and lay him out so Sky will get the pin. They think it will be great when Wardlow comes back and gets revenge on the MMA guys but in reality they are going to kill Wardlow deader than Kelsey's nuts.
Why’d you have to introduce reality to all this.

Scorpio Sky's promo style is like a discount version of Eli Drake(pre Dupri) without the charisma. He'd be good face given his athleticism and in ring ability. Ethan Page is much better heel and better on mic too.
Wardlow rules but they gotta stop trying to protect so many people because they're afraid of fans being upset. Wardlow vs Miro, Malaki, Hager(no octogon), or Keith 'Bearcat' Lee needs to happen for starters.

When Wardlow was really starting to catch fire, they had Sky beat him with a roll up or something because MJF screwed him. One of MANY examples that a DQ finish, if they weren't going to give Wardlow the belt, would've saved Wardlow some face and not given him further obstacles to contend with.
So they just had a gimmick match on this show and next week there having another gimmick match, does tk only knows how to book gimmick matches

This match was placed by Tony Khan, right after Scorpio Sky defeated Sammy Guevara the 1st time for the TV belt..

Tony Khan wanted the belt off Sammy, because it looks more competitive to have Scorpio Sky beat Wardlow in his 1st TNT title defense.
This was when Sean Spears kept hitting opponents with chair shots every time Wardlow would win

Wardlow not squashing Scorpio Sky makes sense when you consider the fact Tony Khan might be booking for his fans, rather than his critics. People who don't like AEW think Sky has become devalued now that he's yet another clown, but I imagine the people who like the clown filled company appreciate his "comedy" and think he's better than ever. To Tony Khan there might be value in protecting him.
Would have preferred heel Sammy to have kept hold of the TNT title, so Wardlow could chase him and the belt and eventually get us that great squash match

So your information Mr Cornett Wardlow and Scorpio sky did have a match for the TNT title several months ago. This is when wardlow was still associated with Maxwell J Friedman. The sky won the match when mjf ran Wardlow into the ring post which not him off kilter so to speak and Willow was rolled into the ring where Sky covered him for the three count and the victory
Make Lambert a babyface and pair him with Wardlow?

Gimmick matches for no reason are ridiculous. It’s like some amateur looks at the card of regular matches and says, “We don’t have enough variety. Let’s add a tables match and a street fight.”

I can't take Jim seriously man. He doesn't watch the program with any sincerity whatsoever. Every time he is confused about something it's either because he openly doesn't watch everything, or because he missed something literally said out loud in the episode he is reviewing. Either watch the show, and review the show, or don't watch it man. There's no need to watch half of an episode every week and go "I don't get what's going on."

Wardlow & Scorpio fought during the build to the MJF turn. He got rolled up via shenanigans. So Scorpio knowing he'll hold the L otherwise made it a street fight to get some sort of advantage (in storyline).
This is technically enough, ill admit it to that as well, but that was kind of a forgettable moment and it happend what feels like forever ago. If there weren't so much time in between then and now it wouldn't feel so odd and out of place to suddenly be street fight time.
Promo's definitely aren't Wardlow's strong point, I just want to see him wrestlers and destroy Scorpio Sky.

Why does every show or match have to be gimmicked? Lol I can see how old school guys like Cornett consider multiple vignettes, shows or matches being rigged, fixed or gimmed, no DQ, steel cage, no rules match etc. - to be lazy booking. Back in the day that was a tell that a booker was running out of ideas in there territory. Street flights are fine and ok , given the circumstances and the actual story line . What long term story lines do they even have other then mjf and Cm ink coming back to face tanahashi/mox/hangman
