    Whoever controls Star Trek needs to start adding the core members of the feds in their episodes more often, instead of bringing out new species all the time. Great video

    Man, I am SO happy you're going through the species of the Trek universe.
    Personally, I think Shran is the best character from Enterprise as whenever he shows up I knew the episode was going to get good! One thing though... I could never understand how come Weyun, Brunt, and Shran looked SO much alike. It's like they're brothers from other mothers. :-P

    A interesting *what if?*
    What if Andor had discovered Earth before the Vulcans, before Humanity had even invented _any_ FTL, before Humanity had nerfed itself with WW3?
    Considering how far back in Human history you could reasonably push first contact with the Andorians (as Human society has completely changed multiply times in the past century in terms of culture), it would be a fascinating alternate reality.
    Earth contacted by the Andorians in 1950's would be very different to Earth contacted in the 1920's or Earth contacted next week [BTW would Alien contact really be that suprising _these days_ … Humanity: "Oh what now?" "Did anyone have Alien contact for this month in the pool… no, lizard people don't count, those are from beneath Earth" (if the Voth turned up that would be a interesting betting argument - do those that had bet dinosaurs win?)].
    This would carry on even hundreds of years in the future … as the base starting Human society would be different.
    And it would totally change the balance of power in the Alpha Quadrant, and even the mindset of Humans.
    In fact it seems suprising that Andoria didn't contact and bring in Humanity to its Empire, considering how close Earth is to Andor.
    A really awkward what if is if Earth's first slow warp ship launched before WW3 encountered Andorians and then Vulcans made a separate first contact with Cocraine, who gets dibs on Humans?

  • @paulgrattan3885
    @paulgrattan3885 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can imagine the Andorians helped humanity advance its weapons technology. I don't know if its correct but didn't tha Andorians give shield technology to humanity as a gift during the Human Romulan War? The Andorians were definitely partners to humanity during the war. They were there at Cheron helping the United Earth Starfleet.

  • @DavidMacDowellBlue
    @DavidMacDowellBlue 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you.
    I am presuming you are pulling upon information from the novels and perhaps elsewhere for some of these details. I don't believe it is canon the Andorians have four genders. For my fan audio series CHRONICLE (/shamelessplug) I did go with that idea, simply because I found it fascinating. But I also presumed by the time Andorians could manage the warp drive, they had control of their own biology to the point where they could reproduce however they chose--including with other species. Hardly any of that came out, but it helped make the it all real for me. And it helped that my Counselor Nemeth was played by a transgender nonbinary individual.
    To me the real challenge was figuring out why the Andorians would have four genders. My theory was they evolved from a semi-mammalian/marsupial hive species, with much more extreme gender differences than present.
    I was always disappointed what TNG, DS9 and VOY did with the Andorians, but thought ENT and DSC did a lot with them, especially the former. I always felt it must have been quite uncomfortable for Andorians to serve on starships not geared to their environment, and vice versa.

    How can the mean temperaure on Andoria be zero degrees Celsius if it only gets up to -28 degrees Celsius in the height of summer? 4:26 Where was the mention of four genders of Andorians? Quite a bit of imagination and beta canon.

    • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics
      @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, this IS a Beta Canon video as evidenced by not only the video's title, but the intro in the video itself and Second, the four genders comes from the DS9 Novel: Andor Paradigm with hints from the TNG episode Data's Day! So no, that is all Beta Canon, not imagination!

      @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics And the temperatures?

    • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics
      @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What about it? The exact sentence is "Andoria's mean temperature would rarely rise above 0 degrees Celsius" The definition of mean temperature is basically Average Temperature. Like ALL planets, Average Temperatures per year are not a constant. Thus although it's average summer temp is -28 degrees, taken over centuries, there were occasions when yearly, the mean temperature was slightly above 0 degrees... Not sure what you dont understand about that, everyone else gets it... And this all comes from Alpha Canon, see the ENT Episode The Aenar!

    • @randystegemann9990
      @randystegemann9990 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics Yes average is about the same as mean and used interchangeably here. If the average temperature in the height of summer is only -28 Celsius, how can the mean temperature be as high as zero Celsius? Are you talking about record temperatures, and not mean? Would not mean include winter and the whole moon as well? How can that be hotter than the height of summer? If you are including the geothermal and internal temperature, that would raise it far above zero Celsius for the entire moon.

    • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics
      @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, again, Ive explained it above, whether you chose to accept it or not, but you are incorrect about your attempts to nit pick! You neglected to notice that the exact sentence about the summer temp is "The average temperature for the moon during the height of it's summer being only negative 28 degrees." Again, the word average is used, thus there can be years where the temperature is both greater and lesser then the average... That's how averages work... And again, everyone else gets it, so Im not going to sit here and engage in a circular argument with someone who is simply incorrect in their assessment... You came on flippant, trying to pick apart things that well you were unsuccessful in doing, and now with your dying breath you're attempting to save face by holding on to something you're just wrong about... And that ok, you are MORE then welcome to research, write edit and create your own videos and word them however makes you happy. But Im absolutely 100% fine with the wording and so is everyone else. Anyhow, Im closing this thread here, as I have much better things to do then argue in circles with someone who is just wrong! I wouldnt argue with a flat Earther either! Take care :) (Thread- CLOSED, no further comments will appear to the public)
