For those who made this modification and the throttle axis stopped working or is working incorrectly, it is very likely that when assembling the throttle, the accelerometer sensor was mounted outside of the neutral position. I opened it again and fixed it and it worked.

I used my dremel tool and ground off the notch. I didn't have any grease so I used some Vaseline. Worked awesome.. no more 50% "bump". I also stretched out the spring to increase the tension. I didn't yank on the spring too much as I didn't have any laying around in case I somehow damaged it. All in all I'm happy. If in the future I still want more tension I'll run to the hardware store and bring home an assortment of springs. Cheers everyone. Happy New year !! EDIT Jan 1st, 2021: Do not use Vaseline on plastic.... read another post and they said to use automotive Dielectric grease.

I’m going to try using electric tape for it to ride on and see if it helps with that. I hate how floppy it is too.

Is stretching the spring increase the tension on the throttle greatly?

Wish l could help you. Ive been working too many hours to play and honestly cant remember exactly where the spring is or what it looks like. Perhaps another person can chime in. I would take it to a hardware store and purchase a few. Make sure the free loaded tension is about the same. Then l would stretch one of the springs you bought. Leave the factory spring alone! That way if things get screwed up you will always have untouched factory spring to reinstall. Good luck !!!

Use silicone grease on rubber and plastic items, the ticker the grease the more drag on the throttle and / or use a stronger spring

You can also put some piece of paper smoothly insert in the gap and cover it with a well placed tape. Works just the same and it isn't permanent, in case you want to reverse it for some (crazy) reason.

Alright so I just did it with the 4. Took about 30 minutes but I tried to preserve the notch at first by stuffing full of shit lol. Ended up shaving it down, also elongated the spring a lot AND stuffed some hard package paper inside the piece that had the bump behind the spring itself to increase the tension even more. I also put some electrical tape over the bottom plate that still has the groove. It’s much, much better. Definitely not as “smooth” because of the friction but it doesn’t flop forward anymore which is what I hated the most. Hope this helps!

Exactly my situation. Trying to implement trim was especially painful... when the throttle, as collective, goes near center, it would then unwelcomely click into the middle, throwing off my trim, making helicopter trim unworkable.

How about leaving the notch but moving it somewhat so it matches the flex power notch on an airbus (320)? Thinking further: adding an add notch for the cruise power setting? The precise placement might be a problem but I think fs2020 is somewhat helping as it kind of snaps into the virtuell notches. I think I try to make a replica of the lower part so that I can experiment a little an replace the original part just in case...

It may make it a bit stiffer but mainly yes just make the notch stronger. Removing some or all of the grease will make it more stiff.

@@TroyMcMillan May give that a go, as in Elite Dangerous the throttle won’t stay in the “blue zone” (between middle and forward position). It has a tendency to fall forward to maximum thrust under its own weight!

@@kosnow11 Yeah I was thinking of trying that, or maybe even taking the spring to a hardware store and trying to find the same size with more tension. If I go that route I'll probably pick up a couple different springs so I can find the one that feels the best. It's just so annoying when I get the throttle set to where I want it and accidentally bump it or the table it's on and it falls forward. Other then that I really like the kit. I got the full kit with the rudder peddles and it's really improved my flying coming from an Xbox controller!
