Most of the best DC stories are out of the main narrative and are practically non-cannon. Marvel's best stories are crossovers and firmly within their continuity. It has always had the advantage of being a singularly conceived comic universe from the mind of Stan Lee in the 60s. DC universe was put together over a longer duration clumsily and is older and outdated to an extent. Hence Marvel universe feels more real and immersive. Marvel is a better run company overall and fans have long hailed it with the moniker "House of Ideas".
IMHO, only casual comic fans will say that DC is better than Marvel (most likely due to Frank Miller's Batman and Alan Moore work from the 80s). I've been reading most titles of the two companies since 2001 and I can honestly says that Marvel has the edge in comic books. I'll give the edge to DC in animation and video games (which were conceived with limited DC intervention).

I'll take Agents of Shield, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage over DC TV any day. And I'm not saying DC TV is bad... okay Gotham is bad... but the Marvel stuff is simply better at the moment. It's the darker and more mature type of entertainment the the DCEEU wants to be.

I bet many people who says its a "fan" doesn't even know Coulson its still alive, cause in my opinion not many people are interested on Marvel series. In my opinion, they suck. How can you say not many people are interested in the Marvel series when they are consistently some of the highest rated shows among both critics and viewers? It's a huge event whenever a new one drops... sometimes taking down Netflix. You don't like it? That's fine. But to say that nobody does is just ignorant.

Video games is kind of a hard category because DC has the injustice series and the Arkham series, but marvel has ultimate alliance, the spiderman games, and the first marvel vs capcom games. I do as well and have since I was a child but I can't stand by and let some of my favorite characters and stories get shafted in favor of boosting others. Marvel's been on this trip of promoting several other series but neglecting others in the process. X-Men is kinda dying now as it's not moving as much merchandise as it used to as well as the ongoing battle over the rights with FOX which isn't helping. Fantastic Four: we hardly knew 'ye. :(

I’m team DC because of the comics, animations and movies. Also yes, we have some of the most powerful heroes ever but DC does a good gob at developing these powerful characters and aren’t scared to go into dark stories.

It baffles me that DC has the animated film figured out, but can't get their movies to work out unless they have Christopher Nolan, Richard Donner, or Tim Burton directing them.

Except that part where it left those who watched it massively divided as to it's quality, writing, and if what we even saw was a Superman movie. Visually, it's great. It has some neat elements. I even like the cast. But about the only characters that felt right were Perry White and Lois Lane, though at times it fell off a bit for her. I was even willing to give the pass that "oh, well, he wont kill after this" but then beginning of BvS, we see him kill the guy with a gun to Lois's head - unless Snyder plans to retcon that that guy was some sort of meta that could withstand a high speed impact from a very solid 200 ish pound man, all muscle, focused on his chest and being driven through at least 2 solid walls. And with how easily they are led to think he killed those people, seems like more may have happened between MoS and BvS. Beyond "alien from Krypton" and powers that make him a demigod", it feels like the writers tossed out everything of the mythos and said "we do what we want". Raised on a farm in Kansas with two parents that cared for him and that he could always go back to for advice and keep him on the right path. Instead we kill off John via a twister and for some insane reason Clark doesn't say "f*** it" and save him anyway, not going into the rest of that writing, and Martha that basically comes short of saying "Save people, or just let'em rot, your call". Hopeful, uplifting, uses violence usually only when he has to and would rather talk it out and limit civilian casualties - Pretty much not a bit of that. He leaves Lois in a situation she should have died or at best been hospitalized for Hypothermia. And it only continues into BvS where it feels like "oh, you didn't like what I did, well, I'm killing Jimmy Olson, Mercy Graves, and making Lex a dweeb with daddy issues that's off his rocker."
It's only underrated by those who are in that vocal minority saying it's an abomination and the worst movie ever made, way more movies worse than it. It's not even the worst Superman movie, that belongs to Superman 4, solidly, that Snyder and his crew decided to borrow from for some insane reason. It's an okay movie, but I'm hoping that Johns position meas when we get the next MoS stand alone, and when we see Superman in JL - he actually seems like Superman.
Truly underrated in DC? The Schumacher Batman's. Thought of purely as a continuation to the Burton films, yeah, they seem bad and over the top to just down right goofy. Watch them like your watching the 60's Batman, their actually pretty good and there are moments when the actors have to be a bit more serious their on point. Much as I liked the first Burton film and the animated series, I also enjoyed reruns of the 60's Batman so maybe that, and time, are why I can see the good side to those movies.
Yeah a universe that gets Superman, and more importantly Superman's parents wrong is doomed to fail. He isn't some 4th string superhero that you can tinker with, he is THE superhero. Everybody knows him and everybody knows what he is about. When you get him wrong everyone notices and the films just seem....off.

Dark Knight trilogy actually has suspense. There aren't any predicable cliches, unlike all Marvel movies. It's still entirely subjective, however.

Yes, so iconic that Superman got beat at the box office by Guardians of the Galaxy. Honestly i am not surprised that if in today's age, the Guardians are more iconic and memorable than Superman.
Guardians is DEFINITELY more memorable than Superman these past couple years.. Audiences forgot about man of steel, yet guardians is still considered one of the best movies of 2014 and became a household name.
I don't think more is the right word here, they have batman, superman, and the joker, those are the memorable characters but the other ones? not so much
I like both Marvel and DC. However one major difference I find is that Marvel's character roster is well more balanced. DC on the other hand seem to mostly promote Batman and Superman while often ignoring it's other characters. Marvel fleshes out more of it's secondary characters, like Iron Man for instance who was alot less popular before the film came out. However, DC seems to ignore even major characters like Wonder Woman for instance. I mean she has existed since the year 1940 and yet we have had to wait until 2017 to get a major film starring her. Superman got his film in the 70's. Batman in the 80's and Wonder Woman's doesn't even exits yet. I mean Marvel can even make something as unkown as Guardians of the Galaxy a smash hit.

It's not to say that Marvel doesn't have fictional locations. It's to say that DC uses them more than Marvel. Marvel uses real locations more often, DC uses fictional locations more often... but both companies also use fictional and real places in their stories too. It's just a matter on what is more common.

Loki is a great villain, has a nice moral to the story of Thor going to earth, being humbled, returning as worthy to Asgard, plus the romantic subplot whilst being pretty bland is still enjoyable for a popcorn flick. Also how they built Asgard with CGI was good.

When I watch Marvel movies the villains seem kind of menacing like Thanos, Loki, and Ultron. DC villains are just on another level. Joker and others like Lex Luthor and Scarecrow seem far more crazy and authentic. It is authenticity that in my opinion makes a good villain. Not how powerful they are, but how close they are to actual psychos in real life. Authenticity and creepiness is far more unsettling than just being all powerful.

Most of the best DC stories are out of the main narrative and are practically non-cannon. Marvel's best stories are crossovers and firmly within their continuity. It has always had the advantage of being a singularly conceived comic universe from the mind of Stan Lee in the 60s. DC universe was put together over a longer duration clumsily and is older and outdated to an extent. Hence Marvel universe feels more real and immersive. Marvel is a better run company overall and fans have long hailed it with the moniker "House of Ideas".
IMHO, only casual comic fans will say that DC is better than Marvel (most likely due to Frank Miller's Batman and Alan Moore work from the 80s). I've been reading most titles of the two companies since 2001 and I can honestly says that Marvel has the edge in comic books. I'll give the edge to DC in animation and video games (which were conceived with limited DC intervention).
Who even reads comic books these days? It's all about the movies and shows. Which DC is severely, hilariously, and embarrassingly failing at.
rebirth "Big time event" vs Civil War 2? lol they killed Superman before rebirth so yeah sales are going to be boosted up. Moon Knight? Daredevil? Spiderman and deadpool? Dr. Strange? Vision? and before rebirth it was a downhill fight only title really keeping them alive is Batman.

Well...Luke Cage was pretty realistic as far as superhero shows go. I know plenty of people who don't like comic books who liked Luke Cage. One of the things I liked about Luke Cage was that it felt like an authentic take on what a black superhero origin would be like. The ending in particular stood out as very realistic in a bittersweet too real kind of way.
They do. Tony Stark has an abusive childhood and did substance abuse. Peter Parker was relatable because he was torn between the responsibility as a superhero and the responsibility as a student and how he'd juggle his dual life to the people he loves. X-Men deals with racial prejudice. Jessica Jones was a rape survivor. Dardevil was a devout Catholic and struggled with the show's implication that in a very bad day, he'd probably kill people like Punisher did, since the criminals can get away from due process of the law.
Take away their superhero powers, they'd all be interesting characters.

You missed one really big difference that I would have put at number one. Marvel's characters often are seeking redemption while DC's characters are aspirational. Both sets of characters often have tragedy in their pasts that serve as their motivation, but they're often self-inflicted in Marvel's case, but are caused by eternal events in DC's case. For example, Peter Parker's inaction resulting in the death of Uncle Ben, Tony Stark's past as a weapons manufacturer, Thor's reckless adventures, Stephen Strange's arrogance, Natasha Romanoff's past as an assassin, Clint Barton's past as a thief, Bruce Banner's attempts to weaponize gamma radiation that turn him into a literal monster, etc. On the other hand, Kal-El is an orphan who becomes the world's greatest hero, Bruce Wayne is an orphan who becomes the world's greatest detective, Arthur Curry is an orphan who becomes the king of Atlantis, Billy Batson is an orphan who becomes a magical champion, Hal Jordan is an orphan who becomes an interstellar space cop, Barry Allen is an orphan who becomes the fastest man alive, J'onn J'onzz is the sole survivor of his people who becomes the Martian Manhunter, Diana is an Amazon princess who becomes an ambassador to man's world, etc. (Wow, lots of orphans in the DC universe!) Final thought on Marvel characters. When their origin isn't bound up in some kind of original sin / redemption, then their powers are linked to a burden of some kind. For example, mutant powers but you're an outcast, terrigin mists will give you powers but may also leave you deformed, heightened senses but you're also blind, etc. It's harder to be a Marvel hero, but it's also far more relatable. Unless you're an orphan, then definitely DC.
Tony Stark , Peter Parker, Natasha Romanov , Storm , Clint Barton , Steve Rogers , Scott and Alex Summers , Rogue , Peter Quill .... All of these Marvel characters lost their parents before or during their teenage years. DC isn't the only orphan-filled super-hero universe. But I really agree with the point you're making. I like most of the Marvel heroes better (Batman being an acception) ...

DC has the more iconic villains imo. Many people know of big DC hitters arch enemies, but few know of the Leader, Hulk’s archenemy. Plus, multiple DC characters have many different but still interesting villains. Marvel has mostly villains for hero teams

Deus Ex Doppliz doomsday and Zod will always be memorable even if you don't like Doomsday in Batman v Superman he comes back and he'll come back bigger and better than ever and you have to remember that Doomsday it's just a Mindless monster Eevee in his first appearance so it made perfect sense to put them in the movie. and I especially thought zod was very well done and in his eyes he was the hero and Superman was the villain zod with just what he was born to do. in fact practically every DC villain thinks he's doing the right thing in his own twisted
