Nice to meet a Batman fan whos not a mindless fanboy. At the rate they're going with him, the whole "Because I'm Batman" shtick is going to get tired, if it already isn't. I can't speak for everyone, but due to my experiences with mentioned fanboys, I'm MORE than tired of it. I'm a Superman fan first, but I also like Batman; he's my second favorite. But the fanboys make it difficult for me to really enjoy him, even though I'm aware its really the fanboys I take issue with.
I also like batman, in fact I'd place him #1 for DC, although I'm more a marvel fan. But it's when he does things like ninja vanishes away from Superman who has super senses or slips off Green Lantern's ring without him noticing that I question if he's really human.

Well that's taking it out of the context. Anyway I think Cyclops story is awesome too, it had so many twists the first time I read/seen it. If I were to rate it I'd think Cyclops or Wolverines origin stories should've been either one of the top or numbers 1 and 2 respectively, It has so much backstory and could completely give good plot stories going forward. You could say the same for Batman's because of how he never really get to know who killed or why his parents got killed and was never really explored so... I dunno.. a toss up?! XD

Batman was a little kid at the time, giving in to basic instinct of fear. He wanted to get out of the theater cause it scared the crap out of him. Fight or flight, basically just a reflex -like reaction,wheras Parker was a teenager, fully aware of his choice to essentially say "Screw you guys, not my problem." Superheroes sure do need more interesting origins like Hellboy or Silver Surfer. You don't see many lesser known DC characters on the list because most are cookie-cutter templates of a few of these. The only things similar about Green Arrow and Batman are that they were both rich play boys and, well nvm that's it. Green Arrow actually grew out of his play boy lifestyle too. They're not very similar at all. Green Arrow's origin story is very different from Batman's.

His parents where killed and he was left with his old aunt and uncle, who didn't have much money(unlike bruce wayne) Also his uncle who he cared for dearly died because peter didn't stop the robber, which he could have because he had his powers at that time. Peter also has the problem of trying to maintain two lives, which Batman kind of does but in reality he doesn't spend that much time as bruce wayne.

I recently lost my friend 2 days ago, I don't know why, but I am not as sad as some of my other friends. I guess that's how we are and people are different and take these things differently.
Realm Of Unknown The thing is, most superheroes don't have a really good motivation to fight crime or threats. Like, Wonder Woman and Superman chose to be superheroes just because they can. Batman's motivation is just more realistic and can be related easier. I guess that's why the writers didn't come up with anything else.

i feel like your missing the point of comics the characters are forever, always to be edited, because there is always another writer in line to give it a shot.. A perfect example of this is Robot Chickens DC episodes, they do nothing but trash the characters and their flaws, but that doesn't ruin the characters, if anything it only proves that the characters are truly invincible.

I feel like Deadpool deserved more than an honourable mention, because his origin story is really complex and far more "real" than a lot of others. Like most heroes are filled with angst and justice, with a sense of strict moral codes. Deadpool was just fucked up. He had every imaginable horror thrown his way. And it turned him into a villain at first. But eventually he started to go to the other side from life experiences. He isn't angsty, in fact he uses humour as a defense mechanism to deal with his shit, which is fairly common. His traumas have caused suicidal and self harm behaviours, which is what _usually happens_. Most superheroes are so goddamn hokey, even the ""dark"" ones. But Deadpool is just a flawed human being who has been through too much and is trying to do what he can. He also relies on others, without whom his mental health spirals out of control. Which is an important message imo.

Isn't Supermans origin story pretty much "bohoo I have a loving family but the real parents I never knew are dead and all I got was immortality, invulnerability, unmatched strength and other incredible abilities". I'm pretty sure anyone who could take a nuke to the face would be pretty fearless in most situations too, so is he really all that special?
He is special because he has all that power and chooses to use it for good. But it's not necessarily just that it is his choice. It is because of the Kent upbringing that helps him achieve this. Because there have been alternate stories and universes where he is not so much on the good terms like this. That's another aspect of this origin story that helps to sell who he is as a hero.

The first time I watch the 2005 "Fantastic Four" and then "Captain America", I slapped myself for being stupid. Because I didn't realize that the Same actor played both The Human Torch and Captain America. When I first watched both movies, I thought to myself, "Hey, why do they look alike?" and then after looking it up on Google, "Oh! That's why! They are both played by Chris Evans!"
Batman does have the most simple & relatable origin story. An 8 Year Old Boy Watches His Parents Being Shot In Front of Him. Think About How That Changes a Kid of That Age, His Psyche! I Didn't Realize That First, But When I Did, I Almost Got Frozen Inside Myself. He Then Decides He Will Catch His Parents' Murderers, He Will Get All The Bad Guys, Becoming A Crime Fighter. Simple, Emotional, Relatable & Powerful. ❤️❤️
When you think about the chemically enhanced spider-bite, yeah. But his origin story aimed at making the character relatable, fleshing him out as a person with flaws, and it showed how the flaws bought on from his new powers caused his uncle to die. The first issue had more character development than 70 years of superman.

Superheroes sure do need more interesting origins like Hellboy or Silver Surfer. You don't see many lesser known DC characters on the list because most are cookie-cutter templates of a few of these. Lets see better origin stories going forward like Snake Eyes comic book backstory, the Runaways or Kickass

It's not that they love him so much, it's that it is the most well known obviously. If you ask a person who has minimal experience with comic books or superheroes, there is a high chance that they will know them in the list because they are the most popular and I agree that they are some of the best origins because they are the origins of these amazing heroes.

The only things similar about Green Arrow and Batman are that they were both rich play boys and, well nvm that's it. Green Arrow actually grew out of his play boy lifestyle too. They're not very similar at all. Green Arrow's origin story is very different from Batman's.

His parents where killed and he was left with his old aunt and uncle, who didn't have much money(unlike bruce wayne) Also his uncle who he cared for dearly died because peter didn't stop the robber, which he could have because he had his powers at that time. Peter also has the problem of trying to maintain two lives, which Batman kind of does but in reality he doesn't spend that much time as bruce wayne.
Except, Bruce saw his parents gun down in front of him. Peter never got to see his parents die.

Watching your parents die is so cliche in comic books, its so overrused. At least characters like Spiderman have a twist to it. Uncle gets murdered BUT Peter could have prevented it so because of Peter being a sad fuck, he caused his uncle to get shot. That's better than batmans story. Then bruce unrealistically travels to another country and learns/masters almost every fighting style in less than a decade, gtfo.

Realm Of Unknown The thing is, most superheroes don't have a really good motivation to fight crime or threats. Like, Wonder Woman and Superman chose to be superheroes just because they can. Batman's motivation is just more realistic and can be related easier. I guess that's why the writers didn't come up with anything else.
Superman has such a grand, epic, mythic origin. This superhuman alien is rocketed to Earth from a doomed planet, the sole survivor of his entire race, and he's taken in by a lowly couple from Kansas. The juxtaposition of a god-like figure from a highly advanced civilization being raised on a farm in America is mythic storytelling at its absolute best. Forget this list, Superman's origin is on a whole other level from Batman and Spider-man's.

I think this video seems to show live action clips are that more similar to the comic origins. Smallville deviated too much from the common Superman origins.

A perfect example of this is Robot Chickens DC episodes, they do nothing but trash the characters and their flaws, but that doesn't ruin the characters, if anything it only proves that the characters are truly invincible.

I feel like Deadpool deserved more than an honourable mention, because his origin story is really complex and far more "real" than a lot of others. Like most heroes are filled with angst and justice, with a sense of strict moral codes. Deadpool was just fucked up. He had every imaginable horror thrown his way. And it turned him into a villain at first. But eventually he started to go to the other side from life experiences. He isn't angsty, in fact he uses humour as a defense mechanism to deal with his shit, which is fairly common. His traumas have caused suicidal and self harm behaviours, which is what _usually happens_.
Most superheroes are so goddamn hokey, even the ""dark"" ones. But Deadpool is just a flawed human being who has been through too much and is trying to do what he can. He also relies on others, without whom his mental health spirals out of control. Which is an important message imo.
Can you do a comic book origin of The Guyver? He's not affiliated with DC or Marvel, but he is a superhero worthy of recognition.

Isn't Supermans origin story pretty much "bohoo I have a loving family but the real parents I never knew are dead and all I got was immortality, invulnerability, unmatched strength and other incredible abilities". I'm pretty sure anyone who could take a nuke to the face would be pretty fearless in most situations too, so is he really all that special?

But it's not necessarily just that it is his choice. It is because of the Kent upbringing that helps him achieve this. Because there have been alternate stories and universes where he is not so much on the good terms like this.
That's another aspect of this origin story that helps to sell who he is as a hero.

The first time I watch the 2005 "Fantastic Four" and then "Captain America", I slapped myself for being stupid. Because I didn't realize that the Same actor played both The Human Torch and Captain America. Batman does have the most simple & relatable origin story. An 8 Year Old Boy Watches His Parents Being Shot In Front of Him. Think About How That Changes a Kid of That Age, His Psyche! I Didn't Realize That First, But When I Did, I Almost Got Frozen Inside Myself. He Then Decides He Will Catch His Parents' Murderers, He Will Get All The Bad Guys, Becoming A Crime Fighter. Simple, Emotional, Relatable & Powerful. ❤️❤️

Spiderman as #2? He's one of my favourite superheroes and a great character, but his backstory is pretty damn generic and boring.
It's only generic because he is the one who started it all, he is the one who made it generic
He had the best origin, the only reason people think is generic is because a lot of heroes have tried to copy it for the past few decades.
When you think about the chemically enhanced spider-bite, yeah. But his origin story aimed at making the character relatable, fleshing him out as a person with flaws, and it showed how the flaws bought on from his new powers caused his uncle to die. The first issue had more character development than 70 years of superman.
