Post mortem distress birthing is an actual thing, in which after decomposition starts in the mother, a mixture of gas pressure and weak tissue pushes the baby (usually already deceased) out of the womb.
It has NOTHING to do with wanting to kill your offspring, god knows what he was thinking
I think that it comes from a mangling of postpartum depression, which I think is caused by the hormones crash or something? And sometimes the mother has intrusive thoughts about killing the kid, but those just cause feelings of guilt, which further compounds the distress at being unable to form an emotional bond with the infant. I think that it usually goes away in under two years?

In my head I'd like to think there are less of these people historically, but it just seems worse because of the internet.
