- So You want to Ride Motorcycles in Thailand? You may want to check under your seat first. This almost unbelievable sequence of events was captured on video over the course of two difficult days here in Thailand. Big Thanks to the Pattaya municipal workers for returning control of one of my bikes to me from the grasp of two nasty intruders.

Hey Lucas, generally snakes are more scared of you then you are of them. Don't mess with them and they won't attack unless they are cornered: As you clearly saw when the girls tried to catch it. Snakes emit a secretion when they feel threatened and this odor has gained the attention of the second snake. Guaranteed there are more on the property. Removing the hiding places in the garage will help. Also, the motorbike now needs a good wash and put a bag of moth balls under the motorcycle seat to repel any future potential passengers. Great video...!!!!

Loucous.. i want to thank you for my upcoming lack of sleep. I am deathly afraid of snakes and this will haunt me for who knows how long. here in Tennessee we use moth balls. we sprinkle them around the yard and in the garage up against the walls. they dont like the smell. i hope you find a solution and quick! many well wishes for Vee and thank you for keeping us entertained as you always do my friend.
As a zoo keeper and have bred almost 100 species of reptiles and amphibians in the past 40 years i did have a few thoughts on your rat snakes.
I also thought that it might be a male following a random female. They don't permanently pair up. A male will chase any mature female he comes across.

Great video Lucas! Having a horrible phobia fear of snakes makes me happy I live on on high floor here on Prantumnak hill! But I will never look at my motorbike the same when I get on it daily! Keep up the great videos! Always entertaining and informative!

We have had a couple of snakes crawl through the condo in Hua Hin this past year, but when they saw us they left quickly( thank goodness) good wishes to Vee as always, and another great video….( oh, also stopped by Lucky’s to pick up a few of your shirts)👍🏼

Hi, Lucus and Vee, I enjoyed your video. A good reminder to check under your seat before riding. Like you said I think the first one was a female and the male came looking for it and got her scent on the bike. My first thought was to kill it but seeing the pest control guys is a better solution. Great seeing Vee up and about with a sense of humour. I hope and pray you are through the rough part of the treatment and Vee can look forward to better times. Lucus, I hope you are looking after yourself because this is a tough one to handle and you need to be in tip-top condition.

Lucus, Your other subscriber " Brine Waters explained it well about the snake's musk scent that they emit. Plus the suggestion of using a few moth balls as a repellant. Also placing a few moth balls in those areas & in the cracks & holes around the fence will also help in warding them off. Also works well as a rat & mouse repellant.
There are about 100 moth balls in the yard right now 🤣

Lots of undergrowth and bushes in the sub soi's around Pratumnak, l always keep my eyes out when walking around.
your public servent with the ciggarette :) pure Thailand :) snakes usually go to warmest surface, why they where up off the cooler floor. maybe the first one was gravid (in season) maybe the second one was following the scent of the first but most likely the reason the on the bike is that the warmer place as stone tiles concrete suck heat... good to see though they take them away and release them them though :)

Wow. I would be terrified to ever use motorbikes again in Thailand. I am very afraid of snakes, and this has put me off of living in houses in Thailand, and I do hope they do not get to flats in high-rise buildings. Scary, but great video. You should take steps to prevent it from happening again, and be very careful every time you use your bikes
That's HILARIOUS!! Hey! I'd be pissed off too, if you had poked at me with an umbrella. But, You know what really happened? After you tipped those guys, they went down around the corner and released the first one. Then they come back(or their buddies) and they get another tip!! LOL
Wow! Just imagine if you never noticed it, went for a ride on your motorcycle and got bit on the butt! Could have caused a nasty accident.
That thought has crossed my mind but the but would be one of the better places to be bitten, I had worse vision than that 🤣

And that is why I'm buying a Condo on the 20th floor!!!!!!! And when people say "they're more scared of you than you are of them", I can assure you they're NOT.
Many a retention pond in my FL neighborhood full of gators. Animal control only haul those that measure 8' or larger. I rarely see them venture out but the do change ponds from time to time. Also got plenty of snakes including Water Moccasin and a abundance of wildlife here in the northern watershed of the Everglades in central Florida. Wild pigs tend to be the biggest nuisance, especially as they chew up the golf course. You occasionally see hired crew and their dogs hunt them down before dawn, as well as placed traps in conservation areas.
I love it that you sent in the 2 ladies to sort it 1st🤣 Good to see they don't just kill the snake & they take it & release it in a safe place .

They will catch and relocate much more dangerous (Cobra) and larger (Python) snakes as well. You will see the really big ones in the local news from time to time.
G'day mate, i'm a snake catcher from way back. There is normally a nest of these critters in the vacinity. What i'd reccomend Lucas is ( next time ) hop on your bike a take a 5 or 6 mile ride, the snake would have jiggled around a bit and would want to slither away. When you stop and slowly and carefully get off, the creature should, i repeat should very very quickly charge er slide away to safety. I'll be looking forward to the next installments. My hero.
When I was a boy, we picked wild berries. The big black snakes would migrate to these dense areas to feed on mice, insects and small birds. They do have a smell to them. After a few berry picking adventures you learnt the smell. They had a nasty disposition and territorial. So, you figured it out quickly or no berry picking
Enough Aussies around to take care of a little snake, but great to see response team dedicated to helping out 😁🙏🇹🇭🥰
That's very wild the snake went back to the exact hideaway to find his/ her comfort zone to be left unbothered until of course the seat was removed and the snake relocated.

Surely a pair loucas !.i had a bad experience with mice in a garaged pick up truck ...nesting in the air filter area, nibbling cables then eating away at the upholstry the smell of wee was awfull too.the truck wasnt having much use at the time.
We used sticky traps then moved the truck out of the garage.

Imagine feeling the touch of one of those snakes while you're riding on a freeway. Horrible! I'd always cringed anytime I saw Vee out napping in the grassy area of your compound all because of those creatures. I must say y'all are courageous to even stick around the scene. I'd have bolted 😁

Hey Lucas 100% there are more around that area, i had a python for around 17 years as a pet. And Brine Waters summed the situation up and my thoughts are the same. Just be vigilant and check everywhere around your property because the scent of those snakes are all over your property.

Whether it was the females actual mate, or a male looking to mate, might I suggest washing the bike sooner than later, don't know if there is a spray to dissuade them. I am not particularly scared of snakes, but man, that would change if I was cruising and it came up between the boys and started snacking on my Johnson😱. Great to see Vy having fun with the situation, that's a good sign

We were tickled by the snake catcher nonchalantly smoking a cigarette whilst rescuing the snake as if he wasn't fazed. Meanwhile, everyone else is watching from great distance and ready to run a mile! 😂

Yes, it's a Radiated rat snake ( Non Venomous) many snakes are protected species in Thailand and the scent from the previous snake the day before definitely attracted it to your seat of the motorbike.
FYI... There is a snake glue trap that you can get that when you first see the snake, you can throw it on the ground in front of it or beside it then use a stick to roll the snake on the glue cardboard adhesive, where it will be stuck and immobilized for safe disposal. A pest control man used that to get a snake from behind my sofa.👍

Might consider putting sulphur in your garden and your garage. It's said to keep snakes away.

I had a few baby cobra’s show up which unfortunately the cat killed..
Then on me phone one day I saw mummy, next to my feet! Was the joint most beautiful thing I ever saw, joint with seeing a blue whale big eye looking next to the boat in Australia….
It reacted to the car engine eventually, showed its full cobra head, and disappeared into the jungle never seen by me again..
Yes they react to vibration because their deaf, so the car engine moves them on..
