    This new adjustable jet Pulsa-Jet looks better made, at least cosmetically, than the OEM Briggs carbs. Impressive. Thanks for the review.

    I have three of these old clunkers and they all run good even the one with the broken air cleaner stud tower so I modified an air cleaner system for it and is functional and works well. Noticed that new carby had a much shorter pick up tube than the old one, but still works as intended. Great looking engine and thx for sharing.

      I think there are three different size tanks, you must have had a smaller original tank

    I've found the tecumseh aftermarket carbs to be bad if you want to try one. They often wont prime correctly. I usually rebuild OEM rather than replace.

    Frank, you have to get that test bench engine mount sorted, chasing that engine all over the shop. That ring finger looks mighty painful. Great video, thanks for sharing.

    Either the air vane was for halving the vacuum pressure on the pump diagram or the jet. I think it is to isolate the pressure so the pump wouldn't affect the jets at idle? I have a few 5hp with the pto, love them. good job!

    I had a yank-o-matic carbs on a wood splitter and it still works fine. Just the choke'd go back in when pulling. Good deal and yall remain calm, GBWYall and pick one!

    I bought a few of these carbs but when the engine is running it sort of pops ever so slightly thru the exhaust. What do you think causes that? I tried a new OEM Briggs carb and it seems to almost completely go away. Love your videos. They helped me a LOT and even motivated me.
    thanks

    When you build a intake manifold, do you not hook the governor back up ???????????

    The gen 2 carbs are better. They have the choke butterfly instead of the slide. The gen 3 aka fun power aka epa carbs are absolute trash. Imo

    I have a 5 horsepower yard king tiller with a pulse jet carburetor. I bought new everything fit up nice. It'll start right up. It will not stay running. Any suggestions?

    • @david9783
      @david9783 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One here, Gary, a lot of times there is trash and sediment in the gas tank, which will clog the main jet. Cleaning the gas tank and the jet may help. Sorry that involves a lot, but that's all I got.

    I just replaced one and it will not start. Like its not getting fuel. Popped with some starter fluid. Someone said i need to fill the little bowl in the tank to prime it. How do I do that without taking it back off?

    • @david9783
      @david9783 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can't. Just lift the carb off the tank enough to fill that small well where the short tube lives. Hope it helps.

    hi, nice Bs you have, but what is the smaller shaft sticking out for?

    • @zyenathalous
      @zyenathalous หลายเดือนก่อน

      a bit late here but it's called a "PTO" (power take off) and it turns in opposite direction from crank. it's used for multiple things, but the only one i can think of offhand was the reverse on a tiller drive.

    I have a carb that is similar only doesn't have same carb. its thru linkages and a trottle and choke ajustment levers. what are thos called? and would love to know how to properly adjust same carb

    • @Hjerte_Verke
      @Hjerte_Verke ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the speed on these engines is not controlled directly at the carburetor but it is controlled through the governor linkages and the throttle cable is usually connected at the governor linkage under the fuel tank, just like this particular engine in the video. If I were you I would join a small engine forum specifically devoted to engines, or depending on your application it could be a lawn mower, garden tractor, rototiller forum with a subforum dedicated to small engines. Plenty to learn

    That is an OLD STYLE carb. Nothing new there. I have two of them on my older push mowers. That Venture plate doesn't do anything for a mower. Total sales gimmick!
