What bad week are you referring to Jordan? The man is going up in polls. It feels you are just as disconnected with ground level Canadians as your leader
I'm a young person who's educated enough to see that this GST holiday is just another way to borrow from the young to give to the old. Sick, I'll save a couple hundred bucks in tax on snacks and video games for a couple months and in exchange I'll have to live through austerity in 10 years. Yay!
Concerning Pollievre, I say remember 2018 in Ontario. After Patrick Brown was removed from PC Leadership, even leaderless, the PC’s spent the spring ahead of the provincial Liberals in the polls. This same momentum hails for the Federal CPC. Pollievre has a lot of room to do nothing because Trudeau is so disliked by the electorate.
Way to hang in there Kory, the patience you have for the Scott and Jordan is commendable. Scott acting like the world was going to end with your Hey You around Jamil and JD is so ridiculous. Thanks for being the common sense member of this podcast.
The liberals on the panel just said Pierre had a bad week. Looking forward to the next round of polls when he goes up another 2-3% like they always do when Pierre has a “bad week”
@@Gazpacho8 I called this nine days ago, and I was proven exactly correct by the time the polls came out after the finance minister resigned. You can bank on it whenever Pierre has a “bad week” his poles will go up 2%
@@pt93musicit can be a bad week for him and a worse one for Trudeau, also your looking at the week after where new stuff has happened not only the old stuff their talking about. Maybe they are right and it could have been a 6% increase if it wasn't a bad week for him
Kory wins the background decor. Vintage Yamaha racing colours on his right and a darkly humourous poster on his left, although I’d change “call in an air strike” with “call in a gun ban”. Best political panel this country has to offer.
The way I see it, Trump is a Justin Trudeau problem while he is in office. All the talk about Trump being a Pierre problem is irrelevant unless he becomes PM. Also it would be rich for Trudeau to put retaliatory tariffs on energy. It would be percieved as Central Canada sticking their thumb in the eye of Western Canada a little more.
@@itcamefromthedeep Dougie has made the first move saying they would cut electricity off in Ontario. Lets see how others react. My two cents is that both Trudeau and Dougie are bumbling fools and are shooting from the hip.
I love this show. But I felt like the most obvious point re the GST was missed. Canadians aren't stupid! We know this is a ploy, we know we have to pay for it eventually, we know it's bad policy in a futile attempt at buying favour. JT and the liberals have been treating us like we're stupid for years, JS is stepping into that territory, and PP is one rhyming couplet away. At this point I will vote for 'none of the above' if we ever get to this bloody election. But what do I know, I'm just an average mid-age female voter from the 905 who just wants a grown up in charge, so my opinion and vote is irrelevant 🤷♀️
Jordan: when is Jag going to grow a pair and stop supporting the liberals? Is the problem lack of funds to run an election campaign? I don't think it is his pension holding him back.
Do you think federal public service is properly preparing for change? Do you think PCO is busy trying to groom and elevate service delivery and operational efficiency leadership succession ranks? Tax reforms or social investments over military and infrastructure versus social policy? Is there need to borrow for social programs for the NDP or stimulus for full employment and technology and educations for worker productivity to face the tariff squeezes? Please discuss in shows do we need to refocus on borrow to invest and reduce debt mantra ready supporting civil service for the next Parliament? Finally economic update was it postponed so interest rates being lowered by Bank of Canada cuts the projections of debt servicing and creates some temporary and artificial sense of liquidity and prudent management of some fiscal guard rails?
I am not a Liberal but if I was I would not vote for any member of this current cabinet to assume the leadership. They are all complicit in suporting the worst PM in Canadian history. Enjoyed the show.
A bit of information for Jordan. The NDP are doing nothing for their popularity. It's obvious to everyone, and I do mean everyone, that they are not looking to the best interest of the country regardless of their talking points. Their leader's blatant hypocrisy in supporting the LPC on a confidence motion presented using Mr. Singh's publicy stated position, (almost verbatim) does not go unnoticed and only underlines one of the fundamental problems that the NDP has. At this point the NDP and the LPC are in lockstep and based on the polling nuimbers I'm convinced that when an election is finally called the result will see both of those parties at the bottom of a very deep hole. At least you will have each other for company and you can know that you earned it.
History will look back at Trudeau moving Freeland out of Foreign Affairs to Finance as his biggest mistake. She could of gone down as a all time great foreign affairs minister, but a mediocre to bad finance minister.
The group has now been upgraded from The Three Stooges plus Shemp to a far more civil Marx Bros.. plus one. Still repetitive in a vaudevillean sense but showing some promise musically.
Stop the fentanyl and close the northern border, which is helpful for Canadians. It is about the Fentanyl and closing the border. Why does Jordan and others refuse to close border and stop fentanyl in Canadian Society..Can’t take the leftists seriously on this panel when they analyse the right. Too negative & off the mark. It’s a new world! Good discussion overall. Thank the universe that we have at least one conservative on the panel. Thank you.
Well the solution for Trudeau is obvious. He has to challenge PP to a pillow fight, winner take all... Trudeau has to go, and the sooner the better. And I say this as a life-long supporter of the Liberal party, apart from a brief flirtation with the NDP (I canvassed for Dan Heap). Poilievre will have a very tough job trying to sort out the economy, deficits, armed forces funding and a host of other issues.
The only two folks that have some political capital to lead Liberals to improved polling and some retention of seats 1) Jody Wilson-Raybould or 2) Dr. Jane Philpott. Don’t ignore the obvious next leader.
Trudeau Playing a Game of of Chicken with Fate? .... As Sherlock Holmes famously stated, "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?" If Trudeau refuses to step down when stuck at 20% in the polls, then It is time for this panel to exercise some deductive reasoning. The only remaining explanation is that Trudeau and Singh first intend to extend their term to 5 years, then push the Senate to pass 3rd reading of Bill C-293, and in their 5th year, use the powers under C-293 to make a formal declaration of war against the existential threat of climate change to to suspend elections and continue in gov't to pursue their agenda. If being at 20% in the polls doesn't matter, it can only be because there will be no election.
Our current PM is sounding deranged and I haven't seen Pierre have a bad week for a year. Jordon the only thing Singh and the NDP are "delivering" is managing to lower the polls and keep a madman in power. Keep it up, Kory.
Carney is too smart to walk into this woodchipper now.
