Politics from the inside, out. Get beyond the talking points and explore the big ideas changing our politics, culture and the world. We’ll hear from the players in the game in a way that traditional media can’t deliver: unfiltered and without limits. It’ll take all of us-listening to each other and understanding where we’re at-to bridge the seemingly widening divide in society. Partisan, non-partisan, it’s all here at Air Quotes Media.

Trudeau gave all the jobs to TFWs. The idea that he is going to protect Canadian jobs against Trump is laughable. 😂
12 months later: Scott got his oddball prediction in under the wire, and Jordan didn't predict oddball enough on the destruction of BC United.
Was waiting for someone to call out how people talked about Freeland before the resignation letter and after. People are weird.
Why does the Chamberlain appeasement attempt keep creeping into my noggin?
It's not appeasement to protect Canada's border from drugs, gangs, and human smugglers
What is going on ?? Just a bunch of men who thinks they know what is really going on ! You are not over 50 % of the population !! Why do you not talk about the Block ?? Or the Max Bernier factor ?? With all the solar flares and solar maximum happening , perhaps people are just over reacting !! Trump is unhinged !! There are checks and balances in the USA !! TRUTH TO POWER !!
Great episode, thank you!
Holy smokes - that was awesome - fantastic panel - lots of intelligent food for thought - thanks David
I hope many Canadians watch this over the Holidays. We have already wasted 3 weeks. The light in the tunnel is getting bigger. The 25% is real and the 51st state comments are no joke. The Trump train is going to run over us economically and with no leadership, no wealth and no defence he'll brag he Putin'd us without firing a shot. He'll say to his people, " ya it was a bit of a sacrifice, but what's the bigger prize, Ukraine or CANADA"
ship of fools....extremely embarrassed for this country right now.
Yes to Dominic LeBlanc as interim PM, running as Liberal Leader next election.
He'll be trounced
So did Jagmeet come out and say he will vote to bring the gov't down asap because he heard that Justin was going to invite Rachel Notley into his gov't, worried that this could move a lot of ND votes to the Liberals? Talk about a knife in Jagmeet's back in the finest tradition of Liberal political dirty tricks. As of today's cabinet shuffle, Rachel Notley was no where in sight, so likely that Jagmeet will stand down on his threat.
The public don’t like Freeland’s patronizing attitude. Leblanc will be more successful.
The only drama being created here is from Poilievre!
Enjoy a couple decades of CPC rule!
@ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The only drama Pierre is creating is a bigger lead in the polls every week. Fact.
Topp at 54:16 is very dismissive of the border problem, which is a priority for the U.S. Good thing he doesn't get to decide anything.
Because the northern border is not a big problem. That's why. And all the stats show that. Good thing you don't get to decide anything.
@@squatch54530K Indian international students crossing illegally into the US is not a problem? We have a million international students in Canada currently! How many more will attempt an illegal crossing?
An international student from Pakistan tried to commit a mass atrocity on Jewish people in NYC. Liberals are handing out visas like Halloween candy with zero vetting.
Thanks i enjoy your show
These tariffs will never happen. American business will never allow it.
Good thing women like you aren’t in charge.
Brian, you can take it to the bank that the Liberals would take door #1 before calling an election, so they can stay in power for as long as possible, with the hope of reverseing their electoral fortunes after the dust settles.
Does the COS have a responsibility to the country? Does the G-G?
Why would Singh discuss extending the fall election by a week so certain ND and Liberal MP's would qualify for their pensions if he didn't intend to support the gov't for the ful term? I know that David, being trained in the lawyerly art of deductive reasoning would see the logic.
It's easy Trudeau goes visits The Donald bends his knee and kisses the ring. 😅
HERLEEEEEEE!
Sorry , she did not , Rona Ambrose came in and saved her bacon
can't wait to hear Topps NDP bullshit
Only thing more disgusting than Trudeau is the Liberal Party of One prolonging this fall Canada be damned
Time for jaggy to put his money where his mouth is. I’d love to hear Jordan spin her way out of this one on a curse of politics episode. Pierre has just called for an emergency reconvene of the house. Time to put up or shut up for the NDP.
I would advise you to listen to Mansbridge podcast, part 2, Good Talk, get yourself educated on the rules of parliament.
Canada will be healing very soon. The nightmare is officially over!!! It’s time to be proud to be Canadian again soon.
Glad to hear that the Minister bellieves "illegal immigration is not cool". However. this podcast is for die hard Liberal admirers only, don't waste your time if you want to hear any serious questions from Herle; conversation is what I imagine it was like on the Titanic between two first class passengers discussing fish or foul for the main dinner course as the ship was sinking. No doubt his self-described "buddy" Jim Irving or other "buddy" Frank McKenna will give him a plum job once he is defeated.
All I could think listening to this interview: What if Dom LeBlanc had been installed as PM in January? What a different place the Liberals would be in today. A differetn place this nation would be? Sensible, well-spoken, grounded in the possible. There remains a large cohort in the centre feeling homeless. Dom LeBlanc gives these folks a reason to participate again. .
Great interview with Dominic LeBlanc🙏! Got to know him a bit better! He reminds me philosophically and politically of Jean Chrétien! FYI ,economically, Chrétien had the best era for Canada! That’s excellent IMO! PS I had been working on claims settlements for years! Canada needs to get a better handle on this going forward. But clearly a large contingent liability.
The current Liberal Government of Canada is the most incompetent group of elected officials since Confederation in 1867! This is the Minister who just announced that seizing firearms from legal firearm owners in Canada - including small bore rimfire squirrel & target firearms - might be useful in the conflict in Ukraine - not to be taken seriously in any manner or way.. The Liberals just need to stop doing damage to Canada! This is government with a trust fund mentality - Dominic is simply the front man and one of the last men standing for the historic Liberal party that is on its way to the dustbin of history - that fate cannot come soon enough!
How many questions did David ask? 5? This man just rambles on like all is well on Liberal land. He talks about Pierre's character? Maybe he should look at the character of the man he is propping up? 45:11
This is music for a gaming montage. Used for economic theory, it goes astronomically hard
Enjoyed that chat David.....lucky you....timing is everything!
Real Estate Values and Real Estate Related Activities ( speculation) are the cause of our productivity issues when the average persons house goes up in real dollar value each year ( tax free money to boot ) more than they earn going to work at there job in a year this creates productivity issues and increased speculation in real estate. This issue was all created by low interest rates as it shifted peoples efforts from productive industries to real estate speculation and it has become progressively worse each year since the inception of the cheap money in 2008. We used to have 7 to 10 percent of the population investing in real estate besides their principal residence and this has grown to 35 percent of the population investing in real estate on top of their principal residence. This is non productive investment for the economy as those same dollars could be invested in productive enterprises rather than inflating a debt based asset bubble
I'm not a fan of Trudeau but I think the average home owner should think twice before they crucify him because the average home owners net worth has far outstripped the increased level of inflation we have experienced over the course of the last 4 Years. Total Inflation in last 4 Years is closer to 35 percent and not what they are reporting it to be. Total Inflation over the course of Trudeaus time in Power is about 45 Percent. Home prices have doubled under Trudeaus watch so 100 Percent Increase. Target Inflation during Trudeaus term should have been 18 Percent and instead its 45 Percent so 27 Percent higher than is should be. Home Prices in a health economy should rise some where between 2 and 5 Percent per year so on the high end they should have risen 45 Percent during Trudeaus term instead they are up 100 Percent Plus. So home prices increased 55 Percent more than one should have expected so therefore the average home owner is about 30 Percent better off as far as Net worth is concerned under Trudeaus term in power than they would have been in a healthy economy. I understand a non home owners issues with the economy and the Trudeau Years but struggle to understand why the home owners are upset. Does this mean that the houses are not really worth these increased values and will fall in price if bot what's the problem seems like home owners are better off. I guess the real answer is you can't buy groceries with your house, you can't keep burning the candle at both ends via home equity loans with NORMAL INTEREST RATES which is what we have now and you can't suck and blow at the same time and you shouldn't base your economy on a housing ponzi scheme.
Softball interview, very disappointed
LeBlanc seems like a pleasant and likable politician but clearly appears to be learning on the fly when he asks David, "....can you explain the K-shape recovery?...." Yikes! Only positive is that he has former Finance Minister Goodale and a multiple resources to help him through it. He's got a lot on his plate and clearly shows that the Liberal party lacks depth or loyalty is the PM doesn't trust backbenchers to step up. I wish him well during his tenure.
Can't wait til this nightmarish government is long gone.
This man helped destroy Canada.
Great interview. I appreciated hearing Mr LeBlanch speak on several of the topics you brought up. It’s refreshing to hear the man himself talk about his experiences with Trump, his plans for his new portfolio and the fight against drugs which have taken so many lives, instead of having to listen to sound bites that have been crafted to sway your opinion. His story about his fight with cancer will offer hope to many others who are battling this illness and shows how many more options there are now in the medical field to help sick people. 👏👏👏
Apologies… the spelling should be LeBlanc .
Jordan is clearly anti-Poilievre, so I have to say that I will be voting for Pierre Poilievre. He is a brilliant man with a sense of humour. What a combination! He has every reason to be gleeful. I'm sure he's not perfect, but he is a much finer choice than the others we are watching blow up the country. There is no need for Mr. Poilievre to walk a line. He demonstrates his skill and superiority each time he responds to the Liberal/NDP bullshit. His wife must be so proud of him.
Why did it take Trump to make these Liberals do the job they should have been doing all along.
It's no wonder Dominic LeBlanc developed cancer if he eats from a joint such as A & W.
Leblanc preparing to be Prime Minister. Conservatives can’t attack and say he is inexperienced. He has literally held every high profile Cabinet post except the PM job.😂😂
Ater the Trump visit the tables turned on her. Trump didn't like her. Trudeau gets rid of her not knowing Trump wants to get rid of him also. Trump made it known afterward. Freeland saved him the trouble. Double plot twist.😊
Maybe they changed the script🙃and she didnt get the memo
Dominic was very low key the last few weeks, he went to Florida, he's on the list to run..Freeland will be our Kamala running for leadership. Carney will slide to a non descript riding and run next time after securing a front seat.
Well there Mr. Burley kinda looks like you got your talking points from Reid - I expected less a** kissing and some actual itnellegent questions . Quoie Mulrooney " No w**** like an old w**** eh . The Liberal clown show drags on .
Your spelling is atrocious
I really hope our Governor General plays a role where if Parl hits the bump of non confidence or a call for General Election she holds fast on the fixed date election and says PP can form his government. In 6-8 months they make mistakes or solidy voter confidence on more than campaign slogans. At least we see a PP Tories budget, we see details on climate, borders, energy security, taxes, housing solutions, and deficits before a General Election with their Throne Speech. Folks can then vote more informed in October based upon the look of a PP Cabinet and Public Policy being better detailed as contrasted with the Liberals over the past 9 years.
While I am impressed with Dominic LeBlanc and I wish him every success, I think it is manifestly unfair that Trudeau is leaning so heavily on him. I have no great insight into the dynamics of how these two get along; I believe that Trudeau at this point in his tenure is taking advantage of LeBlanc. Trudeau should resign, immediately, and we should let the next election runs its course. In LeBlanc's favour is that he clearly appears to be someone who delegates and treats his people as valued contributors. If anyone can make these three portfolios work, it would be him. It is apparent that he is already trying to sort out the overarching concerns about dealing with Trump that span all three of his government ministries. He is a strategic thinker of the highest order. I bet that the Americans will be very impressed in dealing with him.
