I always wanted a convertible 70 MC, looks like a cross in between a chevelle & impala. I have to now 👌🏾
What's the story on the conversion to convertible? Any footage on that?
The conversion had been done a long time ago. From what the owner told me, the top is from a Buick Skylark. The interior panels where modified to fit. They even put what looked to be the factory frame bracing on as well.
You remember what size wheels it had
Beautiful work! About how long did it take you to do/connect all the wiring, tubing, lines, etc. once you got the engine bolted down?

Love this. Just picked up a 70 and fully plan on going this route. Just wondering if I need to go column shifter ? I have a center console shifter on mine.

The conversion was completed many years ago before the current owner purchased it.

The conversion was actually done many many years ago by a guy here in FL. Long before my time unfortunately.

How much does it cost to make it a convertible?
The convertible conversion was done locally a long time ago. We did not do the conversion nor is it something we would do here at the shop.
Where did you end up mounting the ECU, fuse box, and trans controller?
Above the Vintage air unit under the dash. If you pop the dash pad off it is all accessible
How much do you charge out the door I have a 1970 Monte Carlo awesome I would like to convert it into a every day car

Is it better to go Silverado or corvette engine? Or does it make a big difference
Doesn't make too much of a difference. The corvette engine makes more power out of the box. At the end of the day it just comes down to the budget for the swap. If you can afford the more expensive corvette engine, then yes its worth it. However, depending on the price of the engine, you may be able to do a cammed silverado 6l and make more power than the corvette.

If memory serves me right, we just had a 10' piece of -6an stainless hose.
