I’ve been rocking my 42 C2 OLED for nearly 2 years now and it’s been an absolutely beast of a TV! The screen is still as bright and crisp as the day I got it with no noticeable degradations whatsoever. The only flaw that I found with it were the underwhelming speakers so I grabbed an Apple TV 4K and a pair of 2 full sized HomePod 2s, plugged them through the eARC HDMI port so that any sound that comes out of my TV (and anything connected to it like the PS5 or Series X) goes out of the HomePods instead. Best minimalist Dolby Atmos set-up ever ❤

Hey man, would you please tell me about your experience on PS5 while playing games on performance mode that is 2k upscaled to 4k. Does it look stretched or blurred or it is as closed to native 4k? I am worried about 60 fps gameplay as I will be playing on performance mode mostly.

I have this TV and I also use it as a monitor and it’s great. However, the LG C4 is right around the corner and LG has stated that the 42 inch model will be significantly brighter and come with 144 Hz. So it’s definitely worth checking out the newer model as it’s expected to have some significant upgrades.

I have the 42” C3, and it’s already incredibly bright. So much so that I usually use only 50% OLED brightness, and at night, I use the “dark room level 2” setting. (too make in more dim) I don’t know why anyone would want an even brighter model. Lol.
Also, 120Hz is already enough. No one is going to use a 42” for competitive shooters, and for single-player games, 120Hz is already perfect. In fact, even with an RTX4090 at 4K Ultra, you won’t reach 120 FPS in most games.

It's been a month since I've had my 42" LG C3 and I absolutely love it when playing games but wow when watching 4K or HD content it is amazing that I had to order another one, I was going to go for a 65" but was happy with the 42" for gaming and entertainment I got another 42". I love your videos, one of the main reasons I decided to go with the 42" in the first place.

Hello. I will tell you my experience. I have had the OLED42C3 since April 2023 without modifying the hidden menu. I use it as a PC monitor for 8 hours a day for 5 days a week and have absolutely no signs of burn-in. The automatic dimming is still active, but it stopped existing for me after calibrating it in brightness, contrast, gamma and other options within the main menu with the control that came with the TV, so no dimming is no longer observed when maximizing or minimizing the browser windows or when changing from dark or medium to light or bright tones, or vice versa. LG has an option within the menu to configure the HDMI port as a PC and not as a TV, in this way other different configuration options appear that are optimal for a PC monitor. It's just a matter of configuring it to your liking like any monitor. I have another PC with a 32" LG Ultrafine 32UL950-W IPS 4k monitor and although this is an excellent native monitor, I feel much better with this 42" OLEd. Regards

A bit pricey, but quality will cost if ya want the best or pretty close to the best. I don't use the built in speakers as I use studio monitors for sound. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

i got my 42" c2 when it dropped and it's the best display ever, no high end 'gaming' monitor that i've had (and i had many) even comes close. i was a little reluctant about the size at first but now i love. doubles up as a console display nicely too. the minimalist design is also a plus imo. the only issue is abl/asbl, which i got around mostly with a service remote but its caused some noticeable burn in past 1 year of use. i kinda knew the risks tbh so not too upset, will probably change it this year or next when next gen panels drop.

Other than the elevated price with little changes from C2 to C3 what are the best reasons to upgrade? If you do a search for second had LG C2 especially 42" I found it difficult to find many making me think the owners of LG C2 4K OLED tv's are still satisfied with performance.

Hello, I'm thinking of buying a C3 model for a PS5 gaming setup but I'm not sure if I should buy the 42 or 48 inch model. I was wondering how far away you are from the TV? I have a small room and can only sit 1.5 meter from my TV, so I want to make sure I don't overdo it.

@@stefanrijnbeek696 My room isn't the biggest, but I sit around 1.5m-2m and the TV is pretty big (48inch) Sometimes I sit further away. In all honestly maybe the 42 inch will be perfect for you, but you can always just look up the dimensions of the TVs and measure where the TV will be in your room and decide whether you want the bigger model or not.

21:9 Ultrawide mode in 3840x1600... Big like a 34 monitor but with a proper resolution... Using it this way in 90% of the games - except elden ring
C2... Does the C3 have this feature, too?

The Samsung QD OLED is a better TV in my opinion. Nothing against the C3, but the better TV is Samsung. QD OLED is simply brighter, and more vibrant. WOLED is becoming obsoleted. Shame on LG for not including MLA to the C3 series...

I thought about upgrading to it from my 55 QN90A neo qled but it still lacks Dolby vision unlike LG. That’s why I went with the C3 in a 65

      There’s no 42” QDOLED TV.
also as someone who owned both QDOLED and LG OLED,while QD OLED has punchier colors, the LG makes up for it with way better blacks.

I own the 42" LG. Superb tv. I love watching dark photography type films, horror, crime etc. Looks way better on the LG. deeper more accurate black image.
