Vince, could you bring up the serious issue regarding the SOUND DROP OUTS when connecting an external sound system to the LG C1. The sound drops out every few minutes for a length of 1-2 seconds. This issue is OLD, it happens with the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 LG OLEDs also. Many owners around the world have this issue. I got a 5.1 surround sound system which is connected to a soundblaster sound card (3,5 mm jack) which is connected via optical cable with the TV. I have had no issues with my prior Samsung TV. I've tried out everything in the TV settings, but the drop outs are still there. It happens watching TH-cam and also watching TV via cable network. I read on some forums, that for some people buying a premium 2.1 HDMI cable solved that, but it's not solving for everyone, especially if you don't own an external surround system which is older and has no HDMI connections. When having the sound on ONLY on the TV, no issues whatsoever then. You're doing an awesome job, thanks for that!

A small nuance: 0-255 and 16-235 is a full and limited range in SDR mode, in HDR mode it is 0-1023, 64-940, respectively. In SDR mode, there is no problem switching between full and limited range. Although I saw a nuance: in a certain game, there may be a in-game gamma setting (I don't remember, for example, Bloodborne or MK11) when you need to adjust the value so that the figure against the black background is barely visible. In the full range, it is always visible at all values (or always invisible), but it is perfectly and correctly regulated in a limited range. This means that some games in SDR mode are created for a limited range. In HDR, maybe I have a display dependency (or capture device ), because I clearly see from the wavescope and the brightness analysis of the black and white points that at any value of the option the full / limited image is always displayed in limited mode. And most games are cross-platform projects with their own HDR settings. I suppose the internal Playstation/Xbox HDR settings for these games are useless.
I noticed this with Bloodborne when applying these settings to my TV & PS5. HDR content looks incredible with these tweaks. Bloodborne has been my only experiment with SDR so far. "Auto" white balance washes the picture out as it seems to choose full range; setting the TV to limited range makes the game look much more appropriate. However, setting the PS5's HDMI input to "PC mode" disables the ability to use black frame insertion, so Bloodborne's notorious frame hitching is at a maximum distraction level. @@lordmaster2562 well, I don't really think one choice is objectively better than the other and both have their ups and downs. Thanks so much for making this. I just got this TV, and I was struggling to get everything set just right to optimize the picture. This guide is perfect!
Fantastic video. I appreciate you explaining what these settings actually do instead of just reading off a list of numbers. This'll help me dial in my own settings in the future.
Changed my settings to what was listed here and ended up going back to how I had it before. The Hgig setting ultimately made the picture much darker. I did take a few pointers from this but ultimately, TV settings are personal preference I've found.
I did the same as you as my set got a bit darker with Hgig, but then I realized that I was losing detail with in the original setting. I tested this with Vanguard on the map that has snow and noticed that Original setting was overall brighter, but the detail in snow was lost, but when I switched over to Hgig, the detail in snow popped. I no longer notice the loss in brightness so I recommend you try it again and let your eyes adjust.

Hi Vincent, Considering the improvements like VRR and other updates on the PS5, is it possible for you to make an updated video with the best settings on LG C1 for PS5 version 2022 ? My knowledge is not that good and I would like to be sure that I'm using the best settings. Some people are asking questions regarding the switch to PC mode instead of console but with all these contradicting information, I feel a bit lost. Thanks in advance for your precious work !
Damn this video is incredibly detailed and you can tell this guy is really passionate and knows what he’s talking about. I don’t think I’ll ever listen to anyone else when it comes to stuff like this. Thank you! 🙏
I've been shopping for TV's and the C1 has been high on my list. Seen a couple of your videos and they've helped in my choosing but that double ps5 flex made this the quickest channel I've ever subscribed to! Well done.
As always, another great in-depth video. I just got a PS5 and this is quite helpful. It seems I have most of my settings configured correctly except HGiG. You actually touched on the one complaint I have with my LG C1 and that is that the near-blacks in HDR and Dolby Vision content appear too dark. You hinted that this is set this way "out of the box" which suggests that this can be "fixed" somehow when watching HDR/Dolby Vision content? I'm going to search through your videos but I'm not sure I've seen anything specific regarding this.
Vincent, can you please make a video where you compare gaming on the PS5 using EOTF set to HLG on the LG C1. PLEASE can you include all options to show us all if it really is/will be the best possible way of gaming and getting the most out of the panel. Compare it in SDR games and HDR gaming. Also if you are able, for general HD, 4K AND SD TV viewing and streaming. I think with your proven ability and experience, this will make an excellent comparison video. What will be the pros and cons of gaming in HLG HDR/SDR on PS5 on a LG C1 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏 also please explain the difference WITH MOTION PRO ENABLED when using HLG
You really are the GOAT when it comes to this stuff. You dumb things down to a level the layperson can understand and due to your help my tv looks way nicer. I thank you for all the help your videos have provided me.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!! I applied the settings on my LG C1 83" OLED, and the PS5 graphics look incredible. But I also have an Xbox Series X and wonder if you can do another video similar to this one showing the best settings for gaming on that console? Thanks again.
@@MC-ie8xl ofc it is...bruh.. man just do your research.. C1 is currently the best gaming OLED TV... it doesnt matter if it's 48, 55, 65 or any other size...
@HDTVTest I think it would be really cool if you made a tutorial/review for formatting the LG C1 as an 3440 x 1440 or 3840x1600 ultrawide. I think it would be really cool to know if that is a good option for gaming since running games at 4k won't always be optimal even with new graphics cards. A video reviewing different resolution possibilities on LG CX or C1 would be great.
This would be great. I think on the tv side the settings would be the same. For series x console settings, you’d want to make sure the output refresh rate is 120hz and it would be great if Vincent can test conclusively what colour bit has less posterization 8 bit or 10 bit so we can set series x correctly.
I’d love to see C1 settings for the PS4 Pro. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s struggling to find a PS5 and so has had to upgrade my TV instead of my console 😂. Would these HDR settings be the same for PS4 Pro?

Yes, please another video with the PS5 Pro & LG G4. I’ve got the 83” and have no idea if it’s set up right. I’ve been using the setting from this video
Thanks for your great effort to make those videos. However, I just wanted to point out that I can’t stand by you with the HGiG setting for the LG C1 2021. The reason is that the brightness becomes really low and the shadows increase significantly throughout the screen resulting in some details fading out. I’ve tested the method using the Main Menu screen of Assassins Creed Valhalla as reference. Many stars in the background image of the sky disappeared when using the HGiG method. Just wanted to share my experience perhaps people might notice it as well. Thanks again for your very helpful and educative videos.
This video is so much help thanks BUT if you can do update vid with c1 c2 with energy save mode gone and new updates on both TV and ps5 would be very helpfull Thanks agen
thanks for this clear information. my TV was slightly struck by lightning storm. and I had just purchased it. of course I will never purchase a TV at Walmart they would not let me return it or give me my money back after 30 days. so don't buy your electronics at Walmart. I went to Best buy and bought Samsung TV which is better than LG to me. I put the LG TV in the living room reset like you told me now my HDMI port is working again. thank you so much. now I have two TVs .
I'd imagine the settings on the TV would be the same, other than that you would need to go into the nvidia control panel (idk about AMD) and make sure your settings are optimized there for 4k output. Also activate g-sync to synchronize FPS output with the C1 display.

Basically I'm improving myself by allowing to have the option to play games at 120hz. The Vizio supports HDR, VRR, and 60hz.
Ps5 is crap compared to the much better Xbox series X. Dumb choice
@@lordmaster2562 well, I don't really think one choice is objectively better than the other and both have their ups and downs. I prefer the PS5 for the exclusives, though I know the Xbox has slightly better specs, but the exclusives make up the difference for me. Besides, I doubt my eyes will suffer from how slightly worse a game might run in the PS5 compared to the Xbox.
@@lordmaster2562 the only thing crap here is your comment..
And maybe mine as wel but we leave that aside.
@@lordmaster2562 xbox sucks compared to a well tuned PC, know your place peasant!
Hi Vincent, could you pls make a similar video for LG C2 OLED? Taking into account that VRR and other PS5 updates have also arrived. I think the community would really appreciate it ❤️🙏
Would be great if you did a PC Version Of This , showing how to sort out hdr issues in pc games
Yes
100% yes also
Agreed
Yep !
This 100%.
Can you do the best C1 settings for the Series X?
Yeah. I want to see him reset the TV again... 😂
Yes! Please do this same video for the Xbox Series X and the C1!!
Yes well he's biased because he's Asian...
@@Forgoten214 bruh do you not know how racist it is for you to post something like this?
I bet he has 2 xbox series x
I just bought a G1 today with these settings GT7 looks incredible.
It's kinda weird to me that to engage a significant mode such as PC mode, you simply just need to change the icon.
Why is that weird? Changing the icon must trigger something in the software .
I assume this applies to LG C2 as well? I really love how detailed your videos are, thank you for taking the time to explain everything!
I have a C2 too. That would be very interesting! greets
heya did you end up using those settings ?
Would like to know this as well
Just upgraded from lg cx to the C1 and I knew you would be a video on this thanks for all you do man it helps loads
Thanks so much for making this. I just got this TV, and I was struggling to get everything set just right to optimize the picture. This guide is perfect!
- "You can choose to go wild with orange or green aswell". Savage, i love it!
We just bought a mid-level Samsung LCD for our bedroom and it's really helping me to appreciate the C1 in the living room.
Fantastic video. I appreciate you explaining what these settings actually do instead of just reading off a list of numbers. This'll help me dial in my own settings in the future.
Nearly 2 years later, but I finally have the PS5 and 77 C1 combo. Saved this video for so long waiting for this day thanks.
Lol, I had a few genuine laughs 😂👍 Don't ever change Vincent
@@teckademic33 I may in the future for sure. It's all about tweaking, but unfortunately the next game I'm playing doesn't have HDR and like the video recommended, I'm not going to force the setting. I'll definitely tweak it around on my next HDR game
@@teckademic33 i think i hate this in tv adjust everything but i found it is depends on the game some games just to dark or to bright in some places this why i prefer to change brightness in the game settings
@@oscaroska7613 this is pretty much HDR in a nutshell, same issue with movies. You could always disable the HDR if it annoys you too much. I used to disable it on an older tv I had due to limited brightness of that tv
@@teckademic33 what do you mean by the original settings? The ps5 settings? Hgig looks more accurate but it still too dark did you find out a way to solve this?
Just wanted to drop by and express my gratitude for your work. I also used your suggested settings for the xbox series X and the display looks amazing.
Seriously. This guy's humor is hilarious
Any chance of doing this for the CX? I know you have a video that covers the basic settings, but this covered way more, and now I'm jealous.
I don't even own any LG or oled tv and am still watching this. Your Videos are amazing!
Dat flex tho with the PS5’s…. I took that personally.
Outch! Hey man if its any reconsilation i orderd 2 for my familie, i got one! And was scamed by the other😭 now me and my daughter are fighting over the ps5xD while the ps4 is lonly and unpluged in the corner!
“I understand PS5s are difficult to get, fortunately I have two.”
Haha. Love the deadpan way he just drops that when there are people still trying to get one.
Dude.. Thank you SO much for such an informative video! I’ve had my LG OLED C1 and PS5 for over 2 years now and never bothered to mess around with the settings for better image quality! This is such valuable information, thank you for what you do!
Hi Vincent,
Considering the improvements like VRR and other updates on the PS5, is it possible for you to make an updated video with the best settings on LG C1 for PS5 version 2022 ?
My knowledge is not that good and I would like to be sure that I'm using the best settings.
Some people are asking questions regarding the switch to PC mode instead of console but with all these contradicting information, I feel a bit lost.
Thanks in advance for your precious work !
I would also love for this to happen!
Same here please!
I'm gonna go ahead and sign this petition. Your knowledge is truly helpful. Thanks.
I need this too!!!!
latest is G2 which I have with ps5 1100 variant. I have the G2 55", Vin can u make one?
would a "vincent-mode" app for the lg be feasible? i would like to adjust much less settings in order to get the intended results.
HGIG is what is causing my problems as it wasn't on.
I never knew what it was so I left it alone.
It looks better now, thank you.
Damn this video is incredibly detailed and you can tell this guy is really passionate and knows what he’s talking about. I don’t think I’ll ever listen to anyone else when it comes to stuff like this. Thank you! 🙏
Excellent video Vincent. Would love to see a PC one too if you ever get to that. Cheers.
I've been shopping for TV's and the C1 has been high on my list. Seen a couple of your videos and they've helped in my choosing but that double ps5 flex made this the quickest channel I've ever subscribed to! Well done.
Can you also do a "Best Settings" for LG C1/G1 that use PC gaming with Nvidia RTX.
Yes please +1
Yes a PC version of this video would be amazing for so many people
PLEASE!
would love this also
It would be PERFECT! (or at least recognize that ps5 settings are also best for pc :)
@@davidluong8370 Is there a solution or is the TV just not capable?
@@passionate3starattacks230 what do you mean? Did you notice the same issue as well?
Probably the second video I've seen of this guy and his comedic timing is great 😄 Great information too!
This video is wonderful. Thank you so much for all the work you must have put into it.
I was planning on getting the 48 lg c1 for the ps5 do you think that’s a reasonable buy or should I wait
I personally couldn't imagine going back to 1440
I feel like I go though this with every new TV. I gave this a shot and did not like the results. I appreciate the effort!
Good video. Now we need the best settings for the Xbox series X.
This would be great. I think on the tv side the settings would be the same. For series x console settings, you’d want to make sure the output refresh rate is 120hz and it would be great if Vincent can test conclusively what colour bit has less posterization 8 bit or 10 bit so we can set series x correctly.
This is great Vincent! Can we get a video for the C1 and the Xbox Series X?!
The flex at the 10 sec mark…… smuchhhhhhhh ( chefs kiss )
Can we get a updated version perhaps? Also is PC mode only for SDR games or both HDR and SDR?
Need a update version!!!!pls!!!!
Man FINALLY!! I found a really in depth video on how do this! Really much appreciated!
I’d love to see C1 settings for the PS4 Pro. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s struggling to find a PS5 and so has had to upgrade my TV instead of my console 😂. Would these HDR settings be the same for PS4 Pro?
Great video! Can you make a video for the Xbox Series X optimizer settings? It would help a lot 👍🏽
hands down, best tv reviewer on youtube!!!! i´m personally still happy with my 55 LG B7, i will buy a new tv end of 2022. LG 65 inch, however it is called :)
Thank you kindly sir for the settings. I used them and the picture looks amazing. Would you be so kind and provide us with the best settings for Netflix (Dolby Vision) and sport content? I would appreciate it :)
I plan on getting the 77 c1 for my bedroom, so you recommend these settings with the ps5
Finally, thanks! Now we waiting a settings For Series X on C1.
Watched your Series X video before this, now this one. Thanks again! Your settings are spot on. Only thing I didn't change is hdr always on. That being said, you got a new subscriber!

For most accurate picture settings be sure to set game optimizer menu colour to green when gaming on Xbox series x ;)
Use same for C4 as well?
I would really love to see the same kind of video for the C4 and G4 with a ps5/ps5 pro. Please Vincent, make it happen 🙏🏼❤️
Agree
Mee too
Wanted to add this is the issue with me as well. Very dim.
Yeah same
Which setting did you choose instead of hgig to remedy this?
Should i have the same settings with the LG C2?
You are a star ! just got my LG C1 65 and already love the HDR settings, thanks a lot ! :)

Can you do one for PC settings? That's what I have.
I'd imagine the settings on the TV would be the same, other than that you would need to go into the nvidia control panel (idk about AMD) and make sure your settings are optimized there for 4k output. Also activate g-sync to synchronize FPS output with the C1 display.
