I grabbed the CX last year and was worried I might regret not waiting but after getting a PS5 I am happy with the performance and how well they go together. The C1 doesn't seem as big of an improvement to me and I'm not a fan of the new OS. I'll be happy with this combo for quite awhile, maybe I'll look to upgrade again once they release the C4, just cause I think that one will be funny to own. Lol
Same mate. Had mine since August 2020 and I love the CX. I bought a PS5 2 weeks ago and what a stunning combination it is. Not upgrading again until the CX self-destructs. I also calibrated my CX with Calman Pro and an X-Rite Pro Light Metre and the Calibrated Picture is significantly better than out of the box and even over the built-in ISF Dark/Light Modes.

I decided to go with my taste and I prefer a more popping picture and man, the TV feels more like a showcase here! If I preferred natural, I might as well just get a basic TV and turn off all the enhancement filters since natural on most TV’s looks identical.. at least from my experience.. Ratchet & Clank and now playing Call of Duty: Cold War. I'd say consoles have certainly reached the point of a highly specced PC these days.

@@Wimpelmann The 7serie models were way more prone to burn in. Either one of these panels will have way less risk, and also have features which will prevent it from happening, or at least lower the risk (features like pixel refresh, or logo enhancement which lowers the brightness of tv station logo's). It's pretty safe to say that these current models have this under control.

@@adamsurani9197 48 inch is more like an oversized monitor than a TV which means you can sit closer for the same fidelity and contrast. if its for a living room it might be a bit small but on a desk or in a smaller room it'd be perfect. I'm gonna wait for a sale to try and snag one for a bit cheaper for my gaming setup.
@@adamsurani9197 make sure you have enough desk space to sit back from it though. I’ve seen builds on TH-cam with the cx 48 and dudes are just sitting like a foot away from it lol. I measured mine out and 28.5” from the TV screen to edge of my desk where I sit is the sweet spot Edit: nah even more distance is ideal, at least ~3ft
Just ordered my first ever TV - got the CX 65’ for £1599 and Protect+ (5 Years Burn In covered) from John Lewis - this video definitely helped me. Thanks a lot mate! 🙂 This will hopefully last a while until Micro LEDs become the norm in a few years time.

I have a c1 in my living room and I decided to get a new 4k monitor for my pc. I was surfing ebay and I've found a 55'' CX for 600 refurbished (100% screen). I've bought it and it is amazing.... Especially for the price. Keep your eyes open for refurbished oleds lads
People out there saying you need a high end camera to create content and my man here just killing it with a smartphone. In the meantime I'm still waiting on my ps5 🙈
Great side by side comparison! I'm hoping to pick up the 55" C1 more because it's the newer model and will be EOL later than the CX. Both amazing TV's but having the extra bit of life/support is always a bonus.

I'm getting the C1 as a replacement for my C8 due to a faulty panel after having it for 3 years. (Thank you extended warranty). I'm a bit gutted they changed the OS design, I really loved the overlay on my C8
I'm typing this comment 6 1/2 months after you posted this video. I bought the 55" C1. It's actually cheaper than the CX with the Black Friday sales here in the U.S. . It will replace my 9 year old VIZIO E60 E3. This will be my 1st OLED TV. The VIZIO is/was my 1st 4K "TV". I put TV in parentheses because my VIZIO doesn't have a built-in TV tuner. It's basically an overgrown monitor. 🤣

Great video. I recently bought a 48" CX for use as PC monitor for under 10k SEK while th C1 was 15k SEK. For my use case I'm very happy with the seemingly good deal on the CX even if I had to buy a new 3000 series Nvidia GPU to use and benefit from 4k 120Hz. The price difference between the C1 and CX all but covered the cost of a 3060 GPU which I was lucky to snatch for MSRP 5500 SEK.
If you’re doing a side by side split screen comparison of both TVs, it would be way more helpful to see the same side of each TV at the same time. That way we can compare the exact same content.
I think the game optimiser really sold the C1 for me. It’s fantastic. I don’t find myself changing my settings depending on game genre. It just does all of the tedious stuff for you and does it well. I’m very impressed with my C1. Glad I switched from BX. I’ve also noticed that the in game dimming (I think it’s ABL) is non existent in game mode. I’ve not noticed it at all which is amazing. I had a serious problem with putting up with ABL and ASBL on the BX. Not an issue with the C1 for me.
I finally got my hands on a PS5 now I need a TV upgrade..I was between the CX and the Sony X900H, I think I'm gonna go with the CX. Thanks for your great comparison video :)
Not sure if you already made the purchase, but I have both. My Sony has vertical banding and I had to replaced it once because the first one had worse banding that I couldn't ignore. The Sony is fine, but the LG is unquestionably better.
@@LightsLuck- vertical banding or ‘dirty screen effect’ is something that can only be solved by buying OLED as the pixels do not require a backlight in the panel and they can individually turn themselves on and off. All LED tv’s suffer with the same problem. Sony introduced Full array LED to tackle this issue but OLED removes it completely
I bought a CX becuase of the good buzz, future proof and reliable sources. My vendor upgraded my model to the C1 at no extra charge so it's good to see I'll still be getting a stellar product.

@@SpawnPoiint I have both the c9 65inch and c1 65 inch i just got the c1 last week overall it definitely is a upgrade from the c9 not a big upgrade but there's quite a few little upgrades that add up. the ai picture pro wow that really does help makes a big difference. the motion is really good too there's a lot more settings on the c1 too overall it is a upgrade but I don't know if its worth upgrading from the c9 to the c1 I guess if you watch a lot of sdr content it is for sure worth it. but who buys a 2,500 to mainly watch sdr content 🤔lol? I think I have a addiction to tv tech of feeling like I have to have the newest TV possible 😅.
Spot on review. Had my 65" CX for a few weeks now after a Samsung 65" KS8000 and absolutely love it. Got it for £1519 so nearly 1k less than the C1. Thought I'd save the money and put that to one side in my TV pot. The C1 is better but in my opinion not worth the extra.
I still have the ks8000 .. and its still doing a good job ... what are ur thoughts regarding the differences ?... im concerned the oled would be too dim for me
@@hisham3000 i was gutted to see my KS8000 go and little worried it was going to be too dark but I absolutely love my CX and find it bright enough. I watch a lot of daytime sport, cricket, football etc in a bright room and have no issues. I never had my KS8000 on 100 brightness anyway so alot of the comparisons made with both TV's on max brightness I don't feel are real world comparison. It's at night when it's at it's best, the KS8000 is a good TV but clouding/blooming/DSE were awful compared to mx CX. I was a Samsung fan boy but now I'm an OLED one! Happy hunting!
I just bought a 77 CX at Microcenter that was open box for 1800USD and its the best purchase I have ever made in regards to a TV. Zero Burn in No dead pixels and only 1342 hours on the TV.
This video convinced me to get my LG CX back in 2021 (on a good offer at the time 55' for £950 brand new) from what I gathered CX and C1 there's basically nothing between them, real upgrades came with he C2 and C3 with the EVO panels and much brighter OLED and better image processing. As a little report, my CX has held up brilliantly, no burn in at all after years of use, it's in my little gaming room which can get quite bright with sunlight but had no real issues with brightness. Overall it's just an amazing TV. Gonna keep it one more year and then get a C4 or C5 depending on what LG release/what the upgrades are. But even as a buy today, I'd get one picture is amazing..

I recently bought a 77CX as the prizes dropped sharply. Was coming from an old (but still well working) 55in LG Backlight LED from 2012 and the difference is day and night. I am a using the TV for everything (Movies/Series/Gaming/TV). Of course, new model is always the better one. But in a year from now the C1 will be replaced by the C2, which again, will be slightly better and so on... :)
You have a really really great channel and deserve so much more of a bigger following you helped me so much when purchasing two new tvs for my home that being the CX for my bedroom and the Samsung q950ts for my living room... I just need to get my hands on the series x now 🦋
C1 VS CX. Still watching on a 55 “ C9 here and still very happy with it. Fast enough, even for PS5. New features on the newer models do not justify the prices. Then again, LG does not have to expect people buying a new tv every year. This should at least last for 5 years.

Watching this on my PS5 while I’m using my Hisense 4K 60hz tv I’ve had for 3.5 years. It’s gonna be time for an upgrade this upcoming Black Friday season later on in the year. But until then this tv has worked wonderfully and I paid only 248$

C1 vs Cx. Great vid. So I set up my living room pretty much like yours and I love it. Lights, Ps5, C1 77 inch, Sonos surround. Question. 1-Can you make a video with your C1 settings for SDR,HDR,Gaming? 2- Can you do a video how to turn on LG with Alexa or voice command?
There is no 4k@120hz. No PC or console is able to push 4k@120, cos the hardware is too slow. The only thing you would see in 4k@120hz is the UI, main menu or something static like windows UI. If you want 4k@120hz you trade in massive graphic downgrades or you have to play 10-20 year old games or comparable old game engines. Movies aren't made in 120hz, too. Everything else is just motion processing. Question yourself: Would you really massively downgrade the whole graphics just to watch 60FPS more than fluid?
@@GERRaze Except pretty much anything that isn't a graphical showcase will hit 4k120 with ease? Gears Of War 5, Call of Duty ThisYearEdition, all strains of e-sports cancer... hell, games that care to push graphics are far and away exceptions to the norm now!

I went with the CX. I’ll probably be upgrading it to an 8K in a few years, probably when ps5/Xbox release their mid gen console upgrades and 8K gaming becomes the norm, so spending the extra on the C1 just didn’t seem worth it. It comes tomorrow, can’t wait
You will have to wait a while for when 8k is possible on gaming Consoles. This might be possible for when next gen console gets released maybe in three years from now
Lol this is super old but even the 4090 chokes on 8K and NO games have textures that are 8K. A mid Gen update won't even come close to top end pc performance. Even the PS6 won't be as strong as this current gen of PC hardware. Hopefully next Gen they can at least give y'all actual 4K60 fps with RT

It’s the processing chip like the cpu that’s a new generation, plus the styling of the remote, plus also the Ui, and also sdr but that goes back to the chip inside of these bad boys
It's a rare breed that would be dumb enough to want to upgrade their TV every year. These TV's are maxed out in terms of features, and there's really not much overhead left with OLED tech. The C9 is probably going to be the last major breakthrough until Samsung drops QD OLED.
I prefer the slightly higher brightness of the cx especially in sdr ,as in minute 13:20, the face of the lady at the minute 13:41 but they are 2 identical and exceptional televisions. In my opinion it is better to take the one that is cheaper and save money. In the end they are equal in overall image quality. Great video!

I have a c1 in my living room and I decided to get a new 4k monitor for my pc. I was surfing ebay and I've found a 55'' CX for 600 refurbished (100% screen). I've bought it and it is amazing.... Especially for the price. Keep your eyes open for refurbished oleds lads

Great side by side comparison! I'm hoping to pick up the 55" C1 more because it's the newer model and will be EOL later than the CX. Both amazing TV's but having the extra bit of life/support is always a bonus.

I'm typing this comment 6 1/2 months after you posted this video. I bought the 55" C1. It's actually cheaper than the CX with the Black Friday sales here in the U.S. . It will replace my 9 year old VIZIO E60 E3. This will be my 1st OLED TV. The VIZIO is/was my 1st 4K "TV". I put TV in parentheses because my VIZIO doesn't have a built-in TV tuner. It's basically an overgrown monitor. 🤣

Great video. I recently bought a 48" CX for use as PC monitor for under 10k SEK while th C1 was 15k SEK. For my use case I'm very happy with the seemingly good deal on the CX even if I had to buy a new 3000 series Nvidia GPU to use and benefit from 4k 120Hz. The price difference between the C1 and CX all but covered the cost of a 3060 GPU which I was lucky to snatch for MSRP 5500 SEK.

I think the game optimiser really sold the C1 for me. It’s fantastic. I don’t find myself changing my settings depending on game genre. It just does all of the tedious stuff for you and does it well. I’m very impressed with my C1. Glad I switched from BX. I’ve also noticed that the in game dimming (I think it’s ABL) is non existent in game mode. I’ve not noticed it at all which is amazing. I had a serious problem with putting up with ABL and ASBL on the BX. Not an issue with the C1 for me.
well to be fair the Bx had the processor of the C9 not the Cx, so...

Not sure if you already made the purchase, but I have both. My Sony has vertical banding and I had to replaced it once because the first one had worse banding that I couldn't ignore. The Sony is fine, but the LG is unquestionably better.
@@LightsLuck- vertical banding or ‘dirty screen effect’ is something that can only be solved by buying OLED as the pixels do not require a backlight in the panel and they can individually turn themselves on and off. All LED tv’s suffer with the same problem. Sony introduced Full array LED to tackle this issue but OLED removes it completely
I bought a CX becuase of the good buzz, future proof and reliable sources. My vendor upgraded my model to the C1 at no extra charge so it's good to see I'll still be getting a stellar product.

@@SpawnPoiint I have both the c9 65inch and c1 65 inch i just got the c1 last week overall it definitely is a upgrade from the c9 not a big upgrade but there's quite a few little upgrades that add up. the ai picture pro wow that really does help makes a big difference. the motion is really good too there's a lot more settings on the c1 too overall it is a upgrade but I don't know if its worth upgrading from the c9 to the c1 I guess if you watch a lot of sdr content it is for sure worth it. but who buys a 2,500 to mainly watch sdr content 🤔lol? I think I have a addiction to tv tech of feeling like I have to have the newest TV possible 😅.
To be honest, C1 is awesome. Here in Mexico Oled is pretty expensive, but c1 48" is cheaper than the others and one of the best in my opinion

Spot on review. Had my 65" CX for a few weeks now after a Samsung 65" KS8000 and absolutely love it. Got it for £1519 so nearly 1k less than the C1. Thought I'd save the money and put that to one side in my TV pot. The C1 is better but in my opinion not worth the extra.

@@hisham3000 i was gutted to see my KS8000 go and little worried it was going to be too dark but I absolutely love my CX and find it bright enough. I watch a lot of daytime sport, cricket, football etc in a bright room and have no issues. I never had my KS8000 on 100 brightness anyway so alot of the comparisons made with both TV's on max brightness I don't feel are real world comparison. It's at night when it's at it's best, the KS8000 is a good TV but clouding/blooming/DSE were awful compared to mx CX. I was a Samsung fan boy but now I'm an OLED one! Happy hunting!

I just bought a 77 CX at Microcenter that was open box for 1800USD and its the best purchase I have ever made in regards to a TV. Zero Burn in No dead pixels and only 1342 hours on the TV.

This video convinced me to get my LG CX back in 2021 (on a good offer at the time 55' for £950 brand new) from what I gathered CX and C1 there's basically nothing between them, real upgrades came with he C2 and C3 with the EVO panels and much brighter OLED and better image processing. As a little report, my CX has held up brilliantly, no burn in at all after years of use, it's in my little gaming room which can get quite bright with sunlight but had no real issues with brightness. Overall it's just an amazing TV. Gonna keep it one more year and then get a C4 or C5 depending on what LG release/what the upgrades are. But even as a buy today, I'd get one picture is amazing..

I recently bought a 77CX as the prizes dropped sharply. Was coming from an old (but still well working) 55in LG Backlight LED from 2012 and the difference is day and night.
I am a using the TV for everything (Movies/Series/Gaming/TV). Of course, new model is always the better one. But in a year from now the C1 will be replaced by the C2, which again, will be slightly better and so on... :)

Still watching on a 55 “ C9 here and still very happy with it. Fast enough, even for PS5. New features on the newer models do not justify the prices. Then again, LG does not have to expect people buying a new tv every year. This should at least last for 5 years.

There is no 4k@120hz. No PC or console is able to push 4k@120, cos the hardware is too slow. The only thing you would see in 4k@120hz is the UI, main menu or something static like windows UI. If you want 4k@120hz you trade in massive graphic downgrades or you have to play 10-20 year old games or comparable old game engines. Movies aren't made in 120hz, too. Everything else is just motion processing. Question yourself: Would you really massively downgrade the whole graphics just to watch 60FPS more than fluid?
@@GERRaze Except pretty much anything that isn't a graphical showcase will hit 4k120 with ease? Gears Of War 5, Call of Duty ThisYearEdition, all strains of e-sports cancer... hell, games that care to push graphics are far and away exceptions to the norm now!
@@GERRaze I am pushing 4k @ 120 on the 3090 with a moderate overclock. It's not possible on all games but most go up to 100 fps.

C1 for SDR content and that's a huge difference so C1 wins over all. Fascinating. As you said C1 by a nose.

I went with the CX. I’ll probably be upgrading it to an 8K in a few years, probably when ps5/Xbox release their mid gen console upgrades and 8K gaming becomes the norm, so spending the extra on the C1 just didn’t seem worth it. It comes tomorrow, can’t wait

Lol this is super old but even the 4090 chokes on 8K and NO games have textures that are 8K. A mid Gen update won't even come close to top end pc performance. Even the PS6 won't be as strong as this current gen of PC hardware.
Hopefully next Gen they can at least give y'all actual 4K60 fps with RT

It’s the processing chip like the cpu that’s a new generation, plus the styling of the remote, plus also the Ui, and also sdr but that goes back to the chip inside of these bad boys
It's a rare breed that would be dumb enough to want to upgrade their TV every year. These TV's are maxed out in terms of features, and there's really not much overhead left with OLED tech. The C9 is probably going to be the last major breakthrough until Samsung drops QD OLED.

I prefer the slightly higher brightness of the cx especially in sdr ,as in minute 13:20, the face of the lady at the minute 13:41 but they are 2 identical and exceptional televisions. In my opinion it is better to take the one that is cheaper and save money. In the end they are equal in overall image quality. Great video!
