In this video, I’ll be showing you guys how to stream your PS Vita’s screen to your PC screen using a USB cable and OBS Software. To get sound working you must use an audio jack cable.

@loolyou 1 From what? because of the plugin? ive heard that pressing R trig + PS button + Power button at the same time for 3-5s will put it into recovery mode and reboot your vita from there.

This works so fucking good. I seriously cant believe that Sony didnt make this a feature. Man, this Vita has so much potential. If only Sony actually tried with it, they would probably be dominating the Switch.
Yeah, it does prove that the vita hardware is capable of doing it, its just that sony didn't use it as their advantage over the 3ds, but well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN. After hacking my Vita, I was desperately looking for a way to stream my Vita to the computer. At the time I only found the one where you can stream to your computer via WiFi. While that was okay, I just didn't care for it since it didn't seem completely stable regardless of how good my internet is. Now that I've been patient enough, I happily saw this video in my subscription box and can finally stream it to OBS via the cables. Brings me back to when I could do that on the PSP via Remotejoylite. Now I'm more pumped and eager to get back into streaming and making videos more than ever. Again, thank you. Thanks for the tutorial. I too had the issue of not getting the "line-in" appearing in my pc "sounds". The way I got around it was to use my TASCAM DR-05 mp3 recorder (which i've had for several years) and record audio separately and then add it on in the video editor. All you have to do is press the "start recording" in OBS and on the TASCAM at the same time. I use an audio splitter so I can plug in my earphones together with the audio cable to be able to hear the gameplay while recording. Sounds like a bit of extra work but it totally beats having to hold the vita in front of a camera. The TASCAM comes in handy also for recording gameplay from my S9 phone when someone else is in the room so that I don't have to worry about background audio being picked up.

Tech James I had an issue not sure if you can help me out with it I tried to use audio for my Vita in PC but Everytime I set it up the audio starts crackling or just buzzing and sounds like some weak end audio being played I set up the way you did on the video is there a specific audio jack I need?
Hey i got a problem, when i connect the jacks the vita is not recognized in the sound option.
How do i get it to work?
would a splitter work well for audio for a laptop and if so would i be plugging it in the mic slot?
So I’m guessing Autoplugin wasn’t around 4yrs ago lol so I just installed this plugin via Autoplugin II and in config it has the skprx title with “off” in it. I’m guessing I just need too edit out the “off” from the title to get it too work? Then no need too mess with it anymore? Or I need to turn it back off when done using it?
Is there any way to play games while streaming to the pc like this but with the audio playing out of the vita itself as well? I'm trying to play games that I need to listen to audio queues for and listening out for them on pc has a delay, and plugging the vita audio into the pc with a cable cuts out the vita's audio.
so when I install the plugin on my vita show me a message about it is going to restart the storage or something like that, I will not lose my games or any info on my ps vita? last time I have tried did uninstall my themes and have delete some files

This is nice!! Finally I'll be able to record my PS Vita screen without major lag, unlike the 3DS.
I know the video is quite old but right now I cant test it but how can I get the vita sound to play over a discord stream? do I stream obs/streamlabs and the sound works or what should I do?
tech james how comes it stops you from connecting to vita shell via usb once you do this i know you can use ftp but its quicker connecting via usb
When i put in the plugins my vita wont connect to my laptop.. When i delete it then it could connect.. Do you know how to solve my issue
For better sound:
Turn off usb power supply in psvita settings.
Buy a ground loop for the aux cable.

This thing actually works!!!There is a bit of lag,if there was an option to lower the resolution in the stream it might run a bit faster,I got a windows tablet connected to hdmi to my tv and from there I connected my psvita and it works fine,now all I need is a ps4 controller and I have a playstation switch xd!!!

Bruh. All i did was use Auto Plugin and download the one there. Then OBS just instantly picked it up. Way easier. You could have made this vid 2 minutes long. lol
Seems like my vita got bricked after i changed whatever in the config file. It's stuck in boot loop. What should I do?

They that have problem with audio noise:
Go to settings
Go to system
Uncheck USB Power Supply
USB will disconnect, so you need to unplug it and reconnect, restart OBS.
If audio can not be herd but noise is goon:
Just turn up the volume on VITA, turn of AVLS in settings-audio & display.
That would fix most problems.

someone help me i hv config.txt files in my both uxo and uro but with auto plugin i installed the plugin in uro and i restarted ..but when i connect it to my pc it shows usb not recognized and i tried ti add source the webcam opens please help im using windows 10 and the camera privacy settings is on i followed same and tech james did plz help me i wuld appreciate it

hey techjames. i have a vita on 3.68 H-encore non permanent. is there a way how i can play Freedom Wars with my homies? My freedom wars is on game cart and i think i can only play thru ad hoc but is there a way I can play online without having to update my vita firmware? thank you.
The Line-In thing says nto connected but has it's own microphone one?
Does it work with the slim 2000 model if i used a data micro USB cable ?
Does anyone else have audio static when the headphone jack is plugged in and OBS is open? When I close OBS I can still hear audio and it sounds perfect with no static but as soon as I open OBS the static comes on. It does go away if I remove the Vita source from OBS.
James will this work if you are updated to 3.70 firmware? Please advise.

So.... Im getting VERY LOUD buzzing noise instead of sound... I thought it is because my Vita is old and the Jack is broken, i connected my headset to it and it worked perfectly, then i thought it is because my 3.5 jack cord is broken, i went and bought a new one, same extremely loud buzzing noise, i though that is is the input on my pc, i unplug my mic that i use in 100% working input, and plug the Vita there, same result, extremely loud buzzing noise, i dont know what to do...
You absolute legend. This was so easy.
After I put the skprx file into my tai folder and edit the config text file the restart always results in the home button flashing and not turning on.
So I hold L and bypass the plugins and try again.........and again

what brand cable u used for the audio? i have of the cable but got some static sounds with it
The static sound may be due to the "usb power supply" setting from your ps vita's settings/system. Try unticking that.
I shows just my camera and not the psvita screen it doesnt work :((

Hi James,quick question but i've plugged my jack cable in my Vita and it goes in the line in,it shows me that something is connected but the sound does not works,so i only have the image. Do you know how to fix this?

Hey TechJames is there anyway to stream a Wii to your computer?
I used to be able to record PSVita games near flawlessly, but something has happened since the last time I used it, and my OBS footage now frequently freezes. It's incredibly annoying. I know a small bandaid fix that works though. Right click the source, go into properties and deactivate it, then reactivate it immediately. When this method works, the footage will work without freezing for anywhere between 10 minutes to 2 seconds, and that's only when it works.
I've tried recording PC games with OBS, and everything runs fine. I also noticed a little while ago when my problems began, I went into the PSVita source, and noticed that the Device option changed from "PSVita", to "USB Video Device"
I also have the LOLIcon Overclocker installed. Maybe that's breaking something. I should probably check that out. If it is that, it'd be nice to have a little bit of compatibility between the two.

i am getting some weird noises through my vita aux cord.... it only does it with my vita. my phone doesnt have the same effect. if i plug in headphones i dont hear it either

I did some searches on Google, and there's near to no info regarding this situation. But I found this in a site. Maybe you can use it as a starting point to find the setting:
Disabling a Webcam in Windows 7
To disable your computer's webcam in Windows 7:
Go to the Start menu on your desktop and click on Control Panel.
Select Hardware and Sound.
Choose Device Manager.
Select Imaging Devices and double-click on your webcam in the list.
Click on the Driver tab and select Disable to disable the webcam.
Choose Yes when asked if you really want to disable your webcam.
Sorry if it isn't very conclusive.

Your laptop has to have a Microphone port, the default audio out port dont work
@@glass1098 would an adapter a viable workaround for that? Considering I myself would be stuck with laptop for maybe several more years
hi, i have only one problem, why when i open obs there is a little sound like zzzzzzzz, but when i close obs that sound is gone.. i want to stream a game but that gets in the way of the audio
nvm fixed it haha, had to change to noise suppression which helped alot.. thank you so much for this video!
