Wow! Finally the guide I was looking for. Clear, concise, methodical and accurate. Has to hit the pause button tons of times but that's to be expected. I hadn't really used my Vita for many years so I didn't feel I was risking anything, but it worked out perfectly. Thank you so much for a GREAT instruction video. Much appreciated.
Worked exactly as he describes. One thing to note: even if you have a PSP 1000 model, make sure that you select 2xxx option when he says so! If you don't, the rest of the steps won't work and you'll need to restart the process to select the right option, and then it will work.

I was checking the config and I just have ~1GB (as it was setup), so not sure if I'm going to be able to use it to download some games.. So, got stuck with these questions.... - Should I still install YAMT? - Should I format the storage device? - Should I use YAMT config? - Should I move the files somewhere with VitaShell? - Should I move the ux0 and uma0 to SD2VITA and Memory Card? So, question would be.. what to do if I just have my 8GB PS memory card (with no SD2VITA) and want to enable the other 7GB on the memory card? Would appreciate a lot if you could answer that :)
You can just skip it. though any game you download on the memory card you will copy over and it will take a long time. You can keep the games on the original card before transfer if you figure out which files are what.

Really easy guide... I've always been super nervous to do things like this because even though I'm a software engineer, when it comes to this sort of thing, I can find all kinds of creative ways to screw it up. Even though I have the 2000, I had to follow the 1000 instructions, for some reason, but everything seems to be working now.
@@TechcraversOne thing I did not realize is that nonpdrm and repatch plugins already get installed now... it would have saved a lot of time to know that (not sure if you mentioned it). Also, it took me awhile to realize hoe to get ftp working and that after copying content to ux0:/app and ux0:/rePatch, I had to push triangle to refresh the index (or what it's called) for the app to appear. Not sure if you have another video that covers that, but it took quite a few hours to figure that out... it would be so useful to have that information somewhere since most online tutorials are very dated and expect people to install the plugins on their own.
@@GeorgeTech_99 I didn't follow the 1000 instructions because I wanted to: I followed them because I _had_ to. I tried the 2000 instructions and it didn't work. I don't remember at what part in the process it was giving me trouble now that it's been a few months and it was such a minor few minutes of my life (it really is fast and quite easy), so I wish I could tell you exactly where things went strangely, but I unfortunately can't. I think like many Vita owners, I was a bit scared to brick my Vita in the process, so as soon as I ran into a point in the 2000 instructions where things were not going according to the video, I switched to the 1000 instructions, which worked just fine. I found even after I had hacked my Vita, there was still a bit of a learning curve as to how to do things with it... I wanted to copy Trails in the Sky EVO FC, SC, and 3rd, all of which require English patches (I do own the originals, but I don't speak enough JP to play them 😅) and it took me awhile and a bit of frustration to learn about ux, patch, rePatch, etc, and how to set up the Vita with ftp, as I did end up having to do some steps from my computer to get them running. It took me a few hours after hacking it to figure the rest out until I finally got the games working, but now it's fine and I feel pretty confident about the process.
Holy mother of dragons this was so much easier than the old way(s). _And_ it's the easiest tut I've ever followed. I really wish you did tuts for *_everything._*

Thanks for the guide! Always been interested in these ever since they came out and just the other day I got one for christmas in great condition. I have now hacked it by following the guide but I'm stuck with using the included 16gb memory card it came with until the sd2vita adapter arrives. Another interesting thing I learned is that on the 3g model (which I have) you can replace the sim card reader with a micro sd reader as well so in the long term that's probably what I will do. Excited to use it to it's fullest potential!

@@petervanderham4725 You have to use microSD adapter for Vita for homebrew apps and games downloaded from those apps just leave your PS Vita memory card alone.
Hello @Techcravers, Your guide is just awesome and failsafe. Firstly thanks to you for this guide. If I Reset it or unjailbreak it the memory card of 1GB is still showing in my Vita. I am using PS Vita 1000 model.
Great video worked! If I want to update my micro sd card in the future can I just do a direct swap or do I need to do the part with copying the ux0 files over to the card again? Or should I just clone the micro sd card to the new one?
one small tip: everytime you have to restart, you can go to the "henkaku settings" option and scroll to bottom and press "reboot device". Other than that this is a great video guide!
Same. Did you resolve it yet? Edit: I fixed it. Go back into your browser and go back to the original website. If you receive an SSL error, remove the "s" from "HTTPS" and do it again Go through the process again and just reinstall VitaDeploy. Ezpz
When I went to the webpage and clicked "unlock" it says that java stopped working and didn't let me continue. Could not corrupt jsarray. What can I do?
You left the windows open. You need to close all windows in the browser for it to work. In detail: Get the error, then hit the psbutton and close the web browser. Reopen the web browser and it should auto load the page and work. If not, clear history and cookies/cache and it should work.
Thanks for tutorial, unfortunately I try to format it, where it’s says target: SD2Vita Filesystem: Textfat and I click on format target system storage, it’s says format failed ( C1 -2755-9). In this case what should I do please.
I faced a similar problem, but it turned out I had inserted the SD card into the SD2Vita adapter a bit too deeply. I carefully pulled it out slightly, making sure it aligned with the edges, and even raised it just a tiny, tiny bit above the edge. After doing this, it worked perfectly. If this doesn't resolve your issue, it's possible that you may have received a faulty SD2Vita adapter.
Hey, this issue arises for some people when they insert the SD card too deeply into the SD2Vita adapter. Try pulling it out slightly to align it with the edges, perhaps even raising it a tiny, bit higher than the edge, and it should work fine. If this doesn't resolve the issue, the SD2Vita adapter may be faulty.
Am I right in assuming that this guide is what you need to do in order to hack your vita 1000 without a sony memory card in it? Is that what the "replace near with vitadeploy" step is for? I'm considering buying a used PS Vita for use with my PS4 Pro. After modding it, would I still be able to use it with the PS4 which is NOT jailbroken? Only fitted 4TB SSD into PS4 so far. I'm not new to modding consoles as have modded 2 Wii U's for other people. Modded 2 PS3's - Mine and a friends and also my original Xbox - 2TB HDD upgrade with mod. I can get the PS Vita for £110 and a 32GB card for £28 - until SD2Vita is delivered. I already have a 512GB Micro SD that can be used in that. Would you recommend modding the PS Vita or leave it as it is?

Great tutorial! I made the bad choice of picking up my old psvita 1000 with henkaku/enso (definitely not the latest version, it's been over 5 years) and, instead of following the tutorial from scratch, I tried to adapt it to what I had. It's all working fine except YAMT installer for the Sd2vita. (at first it doesn't launch because I'm missing boot_config.txt, but even if I rename my "config.txt" to "boot_config.txt" it then fails the install) I suppose my real question is, unless you are aware of a quick fix for this, can I safely reset everything and proceed from the beginning? Do I run into any risks? Or just factory reset and then following the video again? Thank you so much.
I'm also looking for a solution. But I am trying to use 128 GB, I wonder if it's too big. I know that when I did my Nintendo DSI , I had to buy only an 8 GB memory card because that's how much the device itself could handle. Because that's how much the device itself could handle.

I'm glad you liked it!
thank you so much for this tutorial i’ve just got my vita and followed this and it was completely successful, i was super stressed since it was my first time jailbreaking a console but you explained everything really well so it was a success
Glad it helped you!
You my friend are a GOD in my book! Thank you thank you! I have so many games and apps on my VITA. I almost sold it cause I couldn’t download any games on it because of the memory card issues, but now I’m driving Uber and playing My MODDED PSP VITA between car rides!! Thank you sooo much and God Bless!!

Solution for format failed!!
My micro SD card was pushed too far down into the adapter piece, pull it back out till it lines with the adapter. I know it's crazy but it solved it for me!
THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU
Really easy guide... I've always been super nervous to do things like this because even though I'm a software engineer, when it comes to this sort of thing, I can find all kinds of creative ways to screw it up. Even though I have the 2000, I had to follow the 1000 instructions, for some reason, but everything seems to be working now.
Great to hear!
@@Techcravers (previously comment edited because of error)
Can I ask why did you follow the 1000 instructions? Because I'm going to have a 2000 model and I don't know anything about modding this device ?
I tried and failed to mod my 2000 almost two years ago I found this video and I finally have it done. Thank you so very much!
Awesome. Glad it helped!
Holy mother of dragons this was so much easier than the old way(s). _And_ it's the easiest tut I've ever followed. I really wish you did tuts for *_everything._*
Every time I go to downgrade the firmware it starts up and then the screen goes black and the light stays blue and the screen won’t turn on
This just happened to me too. We're you ever able to fix it?
Hey, I just got my Vita and I’m loving your guide so far! I just have one question. Im at 3:50 in the video and when I try to select “Replace near with VitaDeploy” it tells me that I’m already running “vs0”. Can I skip this step or did I do something wrong? Thanks!

Just used your video step by step. Love it!
Glad to hear it helped you ;)
Thanks for the guide! Excited to use it to it's fullest potential!
hello, I'm also waiting on my sd2vita adapter and am glad to read this comment. so since I'm using the original ps vita memory card, would you say I'd be done with this tutorial at the 07:45 mark? please and thanks this is my first vita mod.
@@kevinsoeum7254 Yes as far as I can remember that's all I did. And when your adapter arrives you can just keep following the guide. There is a step where you copy everything over so even if you install a bunch of games now they will be on the other card in the future. Good luck and enjoy your vita!

Great video. The only suggestion I can do is in the downgrade OS. Since my PS Vita went locked in screen due to inactivity I needed to restart the process. The suggestion is to press any narrow button while downloading the part 1, part 2 in order to avoid locking screen.
Apart of that it works!
It took me 2 try’s to get the mod running right. Now I do. Love it. Thx for the video friend.
When I get to 'Fromat a storage device" and then press "Format target strage" it says "An error has occurred in the system software' and I dont know te reason behind it. Any help???

Hello @Techcravers, Your guide is just awesome and failsafe. Firstly thanks to you for this guide. If I Reset it or unjailbreak it the memory card of 1GB is still showing in my Vita. I am using PS Vita 1000 model.
Screen went black trying to downgrade

I ran into a error that could not corrupt the JSArray. What does that mean? And could you explain it why that happens?
Clear browser history, clear cookies, close and open back the browser up and your good to go
Great video worked! If I want to update my micro sd card in the future can I just do a direct swap or do I need to do the part with copying the ux0 files over to the card again? Or should I just clone the micro sd card to the new one?

what happens when "ERROR: Could not corrupt JSArray"
just shut it down, then try again. Found the solution on reddit, worked for me!
Do I need to download the SD2Vita adaptor or is that optional?
Trying to figure that out as I do it myself
It says theres an error when i try to format my SD2 in vitadeploy
Fantastic thank you. I had to remod my Vita after the battery died, I was utterly lost. Your video was so easy to follow. Thank you.
one small tip: everytime you have to restart, you can go to the "henkaku settings" option and scroll to bottom and press "reboot device".

You left the windows open. You need to close all windows in the browser for it to work.
In detail: Get the error, then hit the psbutton and close the web browser. Reopen the web browser and it should auto load the page and work. If not, clear history and cookies/cache and it should work.
@@Techcravers yeah, after a couple tries, it just worked. Thank you.

In this case what should I do please.
Any luck on figuring out?
I faced a similar problem, but it turned out I had inserted the SD card into the SD2Vita adapter a bit too deeply. I carefully pulled it out slightly, making sure it aligned with the edges, and even raised it just a tiny, tiny bit above the edge. After doing this, it worked perfectly. If this doesn't resolve your issue, it's possible that you may have received a faulty SD2Vita adapter.
format your sd card in your pc or laptop first ...that worked for me
Hey, this issue arises for some people when they insert the SD card too deeply into the SD2Vita adapter. Try pulling it out slightly to align it with the edges, perhaps even raising it a tiny, bit higher than the edge, and it should work fine. If this doesn't resolve the issue, the SD2Vita adapter may be faulty.
Thanks man! Your guide really easy to follow and totally fuss free.

At 10:15 if you have a psvita sd card so no formatting where would you cipy the files too?
Same question here
I'm considering buying a used PS Vita for use with my PS4 Pro.
