How to Setup Xbox 360 Headset on Xbox One - Game Audio + CHAT!! (Tutorial)

- Step 1: Update your Xbox One controller using the steps provided in the xbox one adapter box.
- Very simple steps, if it doesn't work the first time repeat the steps
Step 2: After removing the correct wires from the two different boxes, plug the 2.5 - 3.5mm cable in the xbox one adapter.
Step 3: Using the turtle beach wire chat cable, make sure the stickers indicating which end goes into the controller or the headset is inserted in the proper accessory.
Step 4: Every turtle beach comes with the wireless box that connects the game play audio with the use of the optical digital wire. This allows the game volume to be heard in the headset.(This step should already be done if you're using your headset for audio with your xbox one)
Step 5: Press the controller image on the Xbox one adapter and reduce the game volume until it is muted. The person image on the same adapter is used to control the game chat and so is the dial on the turtle beach wire chat cable.
Note: In order the change your game audio sound, use the dial on your headset itself.

Technology has evolved my friend. The standard Xbox one mic compared to even the x12s turtle beaches has better voice quality. But if ur talking wire-wise damn straight it should be the same

+OmgItsJareBear i plugged the green male wire into the headphone jack in the TV and the USB in the TV. Then i bought a 2.5 female to 3.5 male adaptor which allows the chat lead to be plugged into the controller

Best set up for this, 4 times for the tone and 3 times for the sound field and get the low sound and bass get it from the controller, it will sound beastly, I have the xp400 and follow this set up. Try it out, won't regret.
Finally got the xbox 360 cable and YES!!, like you said, the mic works for my XP 400 headset as well. Just to recap, I was having the same issue where I got game sound on the headset, but coul not communicate with the mic with my friends. DO NOT BUY ANY OTHER CABLE than the xbox 360 talkback cable, otherwise your headset mic won't function correctly. btw, I think it should work with any Turtle Beach Earforce headset.
The straight talk back cable is 10 bucks on turtle beach and they ship fast. The other cable you will need comes in the box with the adapter. It's ok for now but you have to control the game volume with the adapter which doesn't go loud enough for me. The only way to see if this works for me or if I'm going to have to buy xbox one turtle beach headset is when cod drops.
to mute the game volume u push the person to turn the persons volume up and the gaems down and the up and down to the left is turning it up or down and the right side game and person is just the ratio to person and game sound
If you are wondering if it works with the xp 500 turtle beach well it doesn't work so don't buy the adapter if you were trying to use the xp 500 on the xbox one. (READ THIS CAREFULLY)
It works for the Ear Force X42. Same steps. All you need is the adapter. It comes with a talkback cable
With the new XBox One controllers, you don't need that big Adapter, just the converter cord

If you buy an updated version of the controller there is a 3.5mm jack for your headphone and all you need then is the adapter.
does your talkback work doing it this way? as in you can hear them and they can hear you?
I hoped those were buttons to change between party and game chat. That would be cool.
I sent away the the 360 adapter and the standard mic that comes with the one and got it so it's still completely wireless, a guy does it on eBay for £10

If you have a wired headset you don't need any of this! Just plug the usb cable from the headset in the back of the xbox one then plug the colored cords from the wired headset to the tv!

I'm sooo glad you put this video out for the XP400 headset, this is the very same headset I have, but have not yet figure out how to use mic/chat sound with the Xbox One headset adapter, I can only get game sound. I don't have the Turtle Beach Xbox 360 talkback cable, instead I bought a regular 3.5 - 2.5 cable from Amazon and was trying that, but nothing. I was going nutz, after doing all updates/firwares on my Xbox One, I thought it was my XP400 headset mic that was bad, but seeing your set up works, I realize it may be the Amazon cable I bought after all that it's preventing me from haveing mic sound. I have to buy the TB 360 talk back cable and give it a try, although I'm not sure if TB even carries the 360 cable anymore.. will let you know if I finally can use my mic once I get the 360 cable.
You can get a 2.5 to 2.5 on Amazon or eBay a 2.5 to 2.5 is the same as the turtle beach chat cable or you can search for the tb 360 chat cable on eBay and my maybe Amazon never used Amazon soo nut sure
+Gaming Bandit, I don't want to take my chances with a 3.5-2.5 Amazon or eBay cable. That is exactly what I bought and my headset mic doesn't work. Later, I found several people mentioning the same on different websites, that not all aftermarket 3.5-2.5/2.5-2.5 cables were working and that it was a matter of luck, so instead making that mistake again, I'll just buy the cable Turtle Beach makes.
Couldn't you use the converter and plug in the xbox 360 bluetooth adapter and keep it wireless?
Also go into audio settings and change optical options to Dolby sound for crisp sound
I have the turtle beach xp500 and it just says no updates available so I just thought that it was already updated so I had a luck if I was able to talk in party chat didn't work even though the wire is plugged in all the way! WTH?!!
Thanks for this I been having problems with the game volume cutting in and out. After turning the volume down on the controller adapter this appears to have fixed the problem and my game volume is back as it should be.
Thry should have made an xbox 1 talkback cable. That would have been cool.

The game volume wheel does not work for me but the game volume on the adapter does so if there is no game sound use the game sound on the adapter instead

u can use blue tooth adapter mod it in the headset that came with your xbox one use that mute and vol up and down not hard bro

how do you set up your reciever box that comes with the wireless ehadset? the bx im speaking of is the one with the green plugin and the two colored plugins as well as the usb power plug
Why can't you just jet a regular 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable for the headset adapter and use the in-game audio rocker and chat rocker to change the sound of the in game audio and chat audio

So I bought the turtle beach adapter and then the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter and so it all plugs in just like in the video but I can't talk in chat and I've tried all my controllers and they are all the same. I've done all the updates on them too

I can hear game volume and other people but I my voice doesn't go through and no one can hear me it doesn't even show that I'm talking in party chat
Ethan Suderman The only thing I could think of would be to make sure the wires are plugged in properly (controller input in controller).

I'm using my beats studios with a Vmoda boom pro mic I updated my controller with the adapter in like I've seen in other videos and it wouldn't work so I did it with the adapter and the mic but it still says it can't find a mic
I'm having trouble. I have the mic working and I need to know how lower the game volume the plays through my headset. The dial on the headset does nothing and the buttons on the adapter adjust both and I want to be able to hear my friends over the game volume. Please help.

Turtle beaches are so easy to set up lol in my opinion they are the easiest wired headset to set up only thing I hate about emis there cords are too long
im doing my turtle beaches now and the game volume is really quiet for some reason did you run into that problem?

I just got these and I'm trying to connect the chat with kinet but for some reason I can't hear either myself or othere in the game..how can I fix this problem? and also,how can I know if kinet is working?

does the game audio still play through the headset without plugging it in your TV cause Xbox one doesn't have those red and white audio plugs for the headset plugs to plug into

ok i have a question. i keep seeing diffrent answers. i have the turtle beach x41's that i used for my xbox 360 and it has a 2.5mm jack. i now own a xbox one with a new gen controller with the 3.5mm port. if i buy the 2.5mm female to 3.5mm male cable to use them with the new gen xbox one controller would i be able to chat and hear game audio? i dont want to buy the adapter if i dont have to.

I set up XP400 and have game volume and chat. My issue is that the game volume goes in and out as I'm playing. Chat never goes out. Any idea why this is? I'm running my hdmi from my Xbox One to a surround sound by the way. Also... No lights are on the transmitter as I'm playing and it is still working...

Doesn't seem to be the case for the XP510's. They come with a 'Mobile Device' 2.5 to 3.5 which plugs into the Headset (2.5) and the adapter in the controller (3.5) perfectly.
But although I can hear my own voice in the headset (so the mic is working) nobody in party chat can :(
Would seem I need the Official Chat Cable (not supplied) and that the standard out-the-box 2.5/3.5 cable does nothing.
