naofumi doesn't need recognition; he's been proving himself to the point where now he has a new member, and when you start attracting members or people wanna join you, it means you doing something right bc it's not everyone that will follow you but slowly, little by little they will come for naofumi the shield hero (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)

He had a long and hard road to get there. At least the ones who were closest to him stuck by him. Raph, Filo and the Armorer. They didnt doubt him, I wont include that snot nosed brat princess Melty either . She doubted him at first. The queen was in his corner at least, the only royal who was from the beginning.

Oddly enough, the english VA sounds just as good, which is more rare than chicken teeth.
As much as I love to see the gang again, I kind of hope they touch on everything that happened before this too, like Eclair's backstory, her duel with Ren, etc. It kind of feels like they're almost rushing through this part.

Also wondering how they’ll handle Rishia since she wasn’t supposed to be here, but in volume 10 of the LN. Plus, there was supposed to be a moment where after she joins the team, Naofumi angrily confronts Itsuki. They’ll probably add that in during season 3 if they don’t rush this season.

I'm so excited to see my favorite anime back. I need more Raphtalia and Naofumi moments. My favorite parts are seeing Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo go on adventures together. Great start to episode 1!
me too, i hope this new season won't prevent them from elaborating further the relationship between Raphtalia and Naofumi, the evolution of that relationship was one of the best part of the first season (in my opinion) (and pls no spoil i didn't read the LN or the WN)

Man does this anime looks gorgeous. Compared to last season which looked really nice, now is like they went above and beyond with the style! I'm really excited of all the fights this arc has to offer and I'm also hoping the anime takes some stuff from the WN as well since the tortoise in the WN is way harder and scarier than LN tortoise and in my opinion more epic.
Either way I'm really happy to see Naofumi and the gang back again, Wednesdays this season are going to be insane!
Why is Naofumi using the Rage Shield here? Just read the LN volume this is in and he makes it a point to avoid using it whenever possible.

Yeah. They had adapted more than 300 pages in 1 episode. He did this the second time that they encounter Ost, and without the nuke effect. I hope that this isn't that time, because it would be too much and too fast. (Full Volume 6 and a quarter of Volume 7.)

Just finished watching the first episode and it did not disappoint. But if I'm worried about one thing it would be the fact that they may skip a lot of content from the LN, in fact they skipp d almost the entire content from volume 6 of the light novel.

Anyone else notice how desensitized to anime they have become, like I was watching the beginning of this episode and I just realized how fundamentally strange it is that one of the characters is training in a penguin suite with a Santa hat, worse it didn’t seem out of place cause I’ve seen them use it in earlier episodes, even worse is I tell myself, oh that makes some sense it’s a stat booster

Watching this made me remember just how much I liked Naofumi and Raphtalia... okay, and Filo to an extent, but mostly the Naofumi/Raphtalia dynamic of defend/attack. Story can get kinda mid, but I really love these 2 and their interactions. It's not "oh, MC is OP so he can just do everything", cause while Naofumi has OP abilities, he still has to rely on his allies to do a lot of the fighting while he defends them.
Makes for an interesting dynamic unique to isekai.
What do you find mid of the story?
