Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.

Naofumi job is the most difficult of all.
The man has to keep protecting the world while turning the other annoying heroes into useful ones.
Fr, he's like the combination of a powerful hero and a Dad as well, when will those other heroes seriously grow up and stop adding more trouble for our boi Naofumi
And somehow. Saving the world is the easier of the two options.

@@Hyvexx You gotta remember that he's 16 years old, even if he saw what Myne did, he's still a teenager, his team literally died because of him, and Myne "was there for him" when he was at his lowest, of course he would've trusted her.
To add he was also provided some evidence (loose evidence but evidence nonetheless) that told him that she might be right.
To be honest, Ren brought himself this situation, because in defense of Naofumi and Motoyasu, both trusted in Malty when the wicked princess apparented be a "nice and kind" woman, making that both discovered too late the backstabber snake that is this wicked woman.
But Ren, after the events of "Devil of the Shield arc", he should knows before hand that Malty isn't trustworthy, especially to considers that Ren quickly noted the shady and suspicious intentions of this wicked princess, particulary when she intentionally tried to kills Melty without even bother in hides it. Adding the fact that the Queen Mirela exposed the lies and decievment of Malty in National magic orb, making that Ren shouldn't even consider in trust in Malty, after all the problems and messes caused by her.

Ren was completely overwhelmed by grief/denial and existential fear. Emotions can easily make even the most rational man mad in large enough quantities.

They cut out one awesome scene from the novel, Ren swings his sword down on Naofumi and he just catches it bare-handed, not even using his shield. Ren sees this and and is completely shocked he caught the sword like that. Naofumi is lvl 78 and Ren is lvl 85 but Naofumi's defense and buffs are so ludicrous that he caught the sword with a hand.
0:58 That kind of cursed aura was similar to Naofumi's cursed shield. Naofumi's Curse was indeed symbolizes "Wrath," and Malty was the center of most of those hardships he has suffered.

Honestly, Malty seems to be instrumental in each of the curse series being activated. First was Shield Hero. Then was Spear Hero. Now it is Sword hero. I wonder when she's gonna make a move on Bow Hero and unlock *his* curse series?
There seems to be more going on with these curse series, and with Malty. I don't read the LN's so I don't know what exactly, but I'm guessing the fact that the writer didn't just let her be executed in Season 1 means she's got a bigger role to play other than 'mean girl is mean'.

Seriously, they all need it. And they're nailing it so great right now.
So, in reality Motoyasu wasn't the most problematic personality wise. Ren and Itsuki are. Motoyasu might have been Naofumi's rival in the beginning but that's because he genuinely thought the princess was assaulted by him and is actually pretty harmless. Ren on the otherhand is described to be too childish and lacking communication skills. Too fast to blame others for his own failing and never realizing until its too late that his actions have consequences. As for Itsuki he is probably the worst of the three, though that is a story for another time.

It baffles me that Sword Hero believed Myne's lies after witnessing her trial. She keeps corrupting and using the Heroes one after the other. Her comeuppance is long overdue. Seriously, where are Giorno and GER when you need them?
Well, I think, at least in my personal opinion it’s simply due to the fact that she saw that he was in an emotionally vulnerable state. After all, he just lost his entire party. And thus he was extremely depressed. And in her typical manner, she latched on to an individual that she perceived, as easy to manipulate. Why she continues to do this. I have no idea. But it frankly I don’t really care.

Which is hilarious to say since Raphtalia uses her Brave Blade stance in the Light Novels all the time and it lets her draw another one of her Katanas to dual wield them. But the anime has skipped it lol!
I've been waiting so long to see the other heroes curse series animated, that and Father in law Motoyasu. Kinda ironic how Motoyasu went from the weakest of the three stooges to the strongest.

I love how we finally get to explore the background of the other heroes and reasonings behind their actions
This episode was so intense and interesting. Kinda really feel bad for Ren, the traumatism the battle with Reiki was well portrayed. The character messed up a lot, he also embraced the curse weapon quickly but the way they portrayed Ren was powerless and wanting to be the hero (of the game) was very well done. It's hard to admit our weakness and our failure in real life and the anime describes it well.
I don't blame him he has a babysit these Three Stooges and save the world that seems like a tough job for him
I understand why Loser #3 would be obsessed with items. In games, items makes things easier and completing objectives plausible.
So when he entered this world, absolutely everything was a game to him…until it wasn’t.
It makes a lot more sense to him considering he's from a world where SAO-esque virtual reality exists. The world of Shield Hero likely has almost no differences to the games he played.

@enforcerridley158 Yes, but unlike Ren, it wasn't a VR game. It was regular video games, that didn't feel even remotely real.
Ren at least has the excuse that the way the new world feels would be close to playing the game that he played in his world. The other two don't have that justification, because they weren't actually inside the game.
Long story short: Ren was not dumb, or bad, or edgy(he was just introverted apparently) he was living his power fantasy like any other person his age if he got in this situation; until the reality of this world kicked him face first into the ground and he could not bear with the burden of being unprepared for actual life or death situations. He can still be better, just needs proper assistance and mentorship.
This chapter was interesting to me in the fact that they told us a little about REN's past and his evolution, just like MOTOYASU, which I can see has already matured a little since the two of them felt and lived the same as NAOFUMI and had their shock. reality and that each one has arrived to that world in horrible ways and that NAOFUMI has been the only one who was invoked through a book, but well, we'll see what will continue for the next chapter.
Ren had been fighting his Middleschool Edgy side since he got here. It finally won out.

God Ren is so pathetic, all of them are pathetic. It would be more useful for Naofumi just to execute them all, and then summon new ones. God what a loser Ren is, at least Spear dude had some what of a change, but Ren, after witnessing Myne's trial, STILL believes her? God I want to see his limbs ripped off while he cries looking at Myne's destroyed corpse while Naofumi humiliated and laughs at him
I would feel bad for Ren, if he didn't immediately trust someone who was shown to be untrustworthy and manipulative.

Would he really have been chosen by the Legendary Sword if he were an irredeemable villain? He and the other 3 heroes have severe flaws they all need to work out. Even Naofumi has issues that he has to work through, since he's still affected by his curse series.

@@SonicNigma212 I liked it because we finally get to see the other curse series and a deeper dive in the 3 cardinal heroes. Though I'm upset they're only doing 12 episodes so its gonna get rushed, its still refreshing to finally see this instead of hearing about it.

Never read the light novels, but maybe its because each other heroes knowledge of the world though the games blinds and binds them to the thought that the world they are in playing hero isn't real. Ren's thoughts on being efficent min maxing, Itsuki playing Robinhood without an afterthought of consequences, and Spear just being straightforward and naive.
Dang Kirito really let himself go (yes that's his VA) also voices betelguese or whatever from rezero

No solo que habia sido consumido por una serie maldicion. Algo muy importante en el universo de Tate no yuusha son los metodos de mejora y un heroe nunca sera muy fuerte sino usa todos los demas heroes del mundo. Aqui Ren peleaba solo usando su metodo de mejora y Naofumi usaba 4 metodos de mejora de heroe sagrado, eso hacia a Naofumi mas de 4 veces mas fuerte que Ren.

-Galeon es el padre de Wyndia la otra niña. -Atlas la niña peli blanca esta usando el hengen muso un arte marcial super poderoso que debian explicar mejor en la segunda temporada, ya que es demasiado fuerte y util que a ayudado a todos a sobrevivir.
-Naofumi no puede aprender magia ofensiva, por eso las unicas veces que apoyo con magia coperativa fue con Sadeena lanzando magia de apoyo y Raphtalia apoyando la potencia de magia de ilusion.

Yo conozco a ren desde la primera temporada y el es uno de los villanos de la serie y en esta temporada mostró su verdadera naturaleza malvada 👿 y yo hubiera deseado que lo mataran para que por fin Naofumi se librara de uno de sus mayores enemigos. Eclair tenía esa oportunidad pero no lo hizo, aunque puede arrestar al antes héroe ahora criminal, tenerlo en una prisión bien oscura, sin posibilidad de ver la luz del día nunca más y que sea torturado físicamente, mentalmente, emocionalmente e incluso espiritualmente por todos sus crímenes. Eclair podría darle cortes en su cara, sus dedos, sus manos, etc. sin mencionar que también estaría alejado de la aldea donde vive Naofumi y su gente porque el es muy peligroso para tenerlo en la aldea y atacaría a los aldeanos y no tendría piedad con ninguno, en especial con los niños y aún mas en especial con Atla y foll
En cuanto a ren y eclair sintiéndose atraídos, nunca pasará, eclair podría fingir sentir atracción para luego en el momento perfecto, llevarlo a una emboscada planeada por ella para que lo arresten y lo lleven a una prisión muy oscura sin que pueda ver la luz del día por el resto de su vida y destruyendo toda esperanza de libertad
Y lo torturarian hasta que no sea nada más que un soldado sin emociones, ni personalidad ni mentalidad propia ni libre pensamiento y solo viva para seguir órdenes sin cuestionarlas nunca, una máquina de guerra que su único propósito sea batallar al mal y nada más, y sus únicos alimentos sean pan y agua ya que es un soldado que solo vive en prisión para siempre

The torture skill looked awesome, but the other 2 he has are pretty much more useless than Naofumi’s Blood Sacrifice.
