I never heard of this “shiled” weapon but it seems pretty strong.

i think this shield does low damage the two times he used it he attacked weak targets, for example if he hit ren with this shield I'm sure it won't do much to him

@@Kalossupremacy3356 it’s not that, it’s the way the world of shield hero works. The spirit of the shield purposefully made Naofumi’s attack his dump stat and instead put everything into defense. That coupled with physics in that world being tied to stats, makes every attack he does do nothing because his attack stat is so abysmal.
It’s why shield bash doesn’t do anything. There was also a time where he straight up punched Motoyasu in the novel before the Cal Mira arc and Motoyasu didn’t even feel it nor was he even moved by it. Past shield users could attack but were weaker defensively. By the time Naofumi gets the shield, it changes its stat growth to be only defense.

Spoiler for those who want to know what Kyo meant
kyo is a vanguard of the waves the entity behind the waves reincarnated him in this world with the power to wield vassal weapons. This power is why he could wield the book despite the book hating him as he was not it's chosen wielder and abused it's power. He is not the only vanguard
"Guys like you end up looking like fools in end!" Dude, EVERYONE is some kind of fool, it's only those who can accept it fully and not deny it can they truly live. Case and point, the fact that Kyo is dead and the guy who called Raphtalia a thief for becoming the Katana Hero, no one else died who knew they were fools and just kept doing what fools would do but for the right reasons. (I'm not counting story plot here noted a life lesson of sorts.)
His death was much better in the novel. Kyo is so annoying in the light novel he struggled much more and begged for mercy I think

So he really is dead. Cause Kyo’s final words made me think he found a way to resurrect himself.

Im still shook at what Naofumi said to Rishia when he was on rage mode 😳💀 Kyo laughing made it even funnier 😂 Even tho Naofumi probably didn’t mean since he was under control that was hilarious still
he wasnt under control. People speak their heart out under the effect of rage. And everything he said was true in the end.
He destroyed her, that dragon in the shield was right about burning everything in sight because he was spitting heat. I kind of felt the same way ngl
@@mrxeno5246 I think he really felt those feelings he said. But Rishia having fought w Naofumi knows that his anger isn’t the only aspect of him, just like her love of Itsuki is the only aspect of her. Was a hilarious and dope scene at the same time
Season 2 is supposed to have 13 episodes, but this episode oddly felt like the season finale

The book is actually a pretty versatile weapon. The anime just cut a lot of its abilities, just like with every weapon, and in this fight, there should have been a Curse Series Book. But again, cut.

@@paradox2702 the anime really rushed it tho. In the ln the fight was so long it hooked the reader into thinking whats next so when kyo pulled out the curse book it made the readers think whats going to happen next, what happened was "spoilers"
naofumi tried to use all libearation aura but couldnt so the dragon within his shield helped him at a cost and the ability he used was sacrifice aura
Funny how Nafumi’s life before coming there was alright while the book hero’s life was painful. Yet, Nafumi suffered a lot more than him after coming here. They are basicaly the exact opposite. One thinks this new world is suffering while the other thinks its an oportunity.

its a shame that we didnt get to see naofumi use sacrifice aura but maybe we will see it later on in season 3
Yeah it shows just how strong Kyo was that even with the waves giving them the levels of both worlds Naofumi needed more power and didn’t care about the cost.

Honestly, my favorite part was the life comparisons. Because the book hero shut himself away and spiraled into depression his outlook on the world was awful.
Naofumi was a good person with a good head on his shoulders that was brought low by the new world not life itself. Naofumi needed people to care about him as much as he took care of others.
The book hero needed a chance to live a normal and happy life and instead was given the opportunity to hurt others for catharsis

Naofumi saves the world with the help of Raphtalia, Filo, and the spirit of Ost to defeat Kyo. 1:19. They stay together as a team, friends, and that's how family help each other. 😎.

Man this scene definitely makes me think the opening feels better as a climatic battle scene
Honestly I really loved this scene. The half of the season was very bad but this arc they did in the last episodes was very good.

So much stuff cut,so much changes made and they rush so much,this season was really lacking compared to season 1 and light novel

naofumi and kyo they are two sides of the same coin they represent what one and the other they could both have become
Well, it was nice to see some hope/rage dynamic forming for Naofumi this season. I don't care too much about animation or art as long as the story is told well, but I don't think they accomplished that with this season. Emotions and reasoning seem to be a core part in telling the story of Rising of the Shield Hero and the only thing I thought felt truly emotional this season was Filo's crying in that one scene. Even Naofumi's rage over it didn't really feel real after the first initial moment he found out what was happening to her. I'm hoping the pacing of the episodes allows for the characters to have time to feel their emotions and show their reasoning behind them in season 3.

Same, I was really excited about this season, shame about how it turned out, a lot of people were hyped when it was announced but it didn't have the same effect or reception as the first season. I just hope next season the studio does a much better job with season 3.

I think they just wanted to get Spirit Tortious done with as the author even regrets making this arc

This season was so memorable
The power of friendship grows
The full fight was underwhelming, watching naofumi get all angsty for a full minute mid-combat but overcome it through the power of friendship... Why did Kyo not do something that entire time? And was there a point to Naofumi giving in to his hatred when he immedately overcomes it? Someone tell me this was presented better in text than in the show.
This whole season was a mistake. I wasn't even hyped for it (because I know how well that ends up) and I still was disappointed. Rishia should not have been in the show and the pacing was moving too fast to get any sense of what's happening.
I love beings of pure energy that use energy blasts and use energy for life source and other stuff.

I was expecting to have Kyo’s evil cocky grin to be wiped off from his face and have his comeuppance, but no…..we get none of that. This is THE most unsatisfying villain defeat ever. It is not as satisfying as the first season of Shield Hero at all. I mean, c’mon, is this best they can come up with? It only makes the first season a lot more watchable.

He’s done trying to be a hero, he’s gonna use his shield to protect his home and his people, not because he’s a hero and it’s his duty, but because he wants to protect those he holds dear to his heart
He’s not doing any of it for the sake of being a hero, he’s just doing it because he cares about them
To be honest... This last season was very very disappointing, there were too many plot gaps...

The Book hero has another body waiting just in case that his orginal body gets destroyed. The Shield hero may have destroyed the Book hero's orginal body but his soul is still in that world and tries to merge with his new body. If the book hero had remained silent then his new body would have survived.
