Spear Hero literally went to a third party to have an anklet fashioned for Filo, not so he could defeat her, but so he could molest her in her child-angle form, and Naofume is supposed to be the creep?

@@JohnDolehi btw the shield actually creates a force field if the attack is bigger then it/not covered by the physical shield (basically as long as Naofumi has his shield raised in the direction of the attack you can't hurt him unless it a armor piercing attack or if it destroys the terrain underneath him (but it doesn't always work)
She was trying to gone for the head.
Most militaries train soldiers to fire for the center of mass. This is to maximize chances of staying on and hitting a target during high-stress situations. Hard to change that kind of training during a fight.
Myne isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. She's just smart enough to formulate ways to manipulate and frame people, but absolutely no self-awareness or advanced intelligence to realize that continuously backstabbing people will just garner more enemies, and is entirely too dependent on her royal lineage and doting father to protect her. The moment those were gone, karma came knocking with a vengeance. So her shooting for the shield instead of an actual target reflects both her laziness and lack of planning.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I watched the episode.
Yeah, like the "brainwashing shield" thing she made up. If Naofumi had a power like the that, he would have easily been able to put her, the other cardinal heroes, and even the knight's under direct mind control like Lelouch's geass. Brainwashing and convincing are two totally different things. And it's clear as day that he was doing the latter.
