    There I days I wake up and I’m frozen, literally can not move. I use to think it was because I was tired or lazy but I realize it was a trauma response to work stress. Thank you for this video ❤

  • @lf5953

    Is it normal to feel nausea after this? And also does this work for dissociation because maybe I need to other type of exercises

    • @sheBREATH_Teresa
      @sheBREATH_Teresa  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, feeling nausea after somatic exercises can be due to various physiological and emotional responses in the body. One common reason is the release of stored tension and emotions. Somatic exercises focus on mindful movements, which can bring up repressed feelings or stress. As this tension is released, the body might react with physical symptoms like nausea, especially if the emotional release is intense.
      Another factor is changes in breathing patterns. Somatic exercises often involve deep, controlled breathing. If you're not used to this, it can sometimes lead to hyperventilation, where too much oxygen is taken in too quickly, causing feelings of dizziness or nausea. This shift in breathing can alter the blood’s pH, leading to these sensations.
      The vagus nerve, which is involved in regulating the heart, lungs, and digestive system, may also be activated during these exercises. While stimulating the vagus nerve generally has calming effects, it can sometimes slow the heart rate or lower blood pressure, causing lightheadedness or nausea.
      Additionally, not being properly hydrated or having low blood sugar before exercising can contribute to nausea. When muscles engage and blood flow changes during movement, the body needs sufficient energy and hydration. If these are lacking, the body might react with feelings of weakness or nausea.
      Somatic exercises also engage the vestibular system, responsible for balance. If the movements affect your inner ear, it can disturb your sense of balance, potentially leading to nausea. Similarly, these exercises can stimulate the digestive system, which may cause nausea depending on when you last ate or your digestive health.
      For dissociation I suggest this video, as well as the vagus nerve and the bilateral stimulation. 🫶🏼

    You mentioned yawning being a sign it's working... what about crying?

    • @sheBREATH_Teresa
      @sheBREATH_Teresa  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sighing, yawning, shivering, (excessive) swallowing and emotional bursts like crying (or screaming after „holding back“ emotions) are all signs your nervous system is starting to feel safer and you feel ready to let go.
      Crying is a wonderful way to release❤️
