    So now i saw the video, first of all, i like your voice, really nice, really good, and for the mics, i dont now why but for me, the 251 sound i little more clear or brilliant, and the 87 sound with more bass por body but both sound amazing. Good vídeo my friend.

      Thank you. Hard choice but I agree, they both shine in their own unique way.

    ....both are great!!! but that 251 sounds clearer for some reason...now I wonder how the Stam 47 wouldve sounded with the 251.....hmmm...

      🤔.... Soon to come? Which 47 are you referring to? FET or Tube?

      @@reddmusiclab the sa-251 vs the sa-47......i'd like to get 3 stam mics..the 800g is another nice one I have my eye on. I was wanting the sa-87 but after hearing the 47,251 and 800g Ill be looking into these instead

      @@reddmusiclab So youve heard or worked with all 3....if so, if you were recording R&B Soulful vocals which one would you pick for unclorored, transparent, clear recording? i want all 3 but dont know which one to start with

    • @reddmusiclab
      @reddmusiclab  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@doraysmith Uncolored, Transparent & Clear are neither of those mics. If you’d like that type of recording I’d suggest Earthworks SR-314. Maybe you mean versatility, if that’s the case: I’d probably go SA-87. The 251 is very pretty, although I’ve heard it’s also been used on rock recordings too. It has a specific sound and it may not fit in every recording and mix but it’s F*cking Pretty!
      If you have the means, 87 and 251. If you’re okay with beautifully saturated glossy recordings 251. If you’re willing to alter the recording later in the mix or in the tracking stage w/preamp EQ sometimes, 87.

    Hi, Bro what do you think? Which of 2 mics is better for rap vocal?

    • @reddmusiclab

      At the end of the day, you’re gonna have to decide for yourself. Your assessment of how the mics sounded is the same as mine. 87 is full bodied w/good presence and 251 has that nice clarity and high-end sheen.
      Based on what I’ve seen in your productions, I think the 87 would be best. Your productions tend to have a cool retro fat vibe to them and I believe the 251 would be too pretty of a mic for them. That’s from my perspective.
      Anyone else reading this, will you check out my friend’s videos and make a suggestion as to which of these two mics will work best for his productions.
