It hasn't been all daisies and roses -- it was actually pretty shitty for a lot of the time and I finally got sick of it and decided to do something about it. Turns out it was on my to lead my relationship to a better place the whole time, and I fell into the trap most guys in LTRs fall into -- they get comfortable, and then they get complacent, and then they get fat and everything goes to shit. Once I started hitting the gym and finding a purpose in life again things got better but it was an uphill climb

These are great tips, especially creating a narrative of telling her you appreciate certain qualities she has. You should always reward and encourage the behaviors you want in a partner. If you only ever "punish" bad behavior, literally the only attention she gets from you is when she acts badly, therefore she will act badly more often, and then it becomes a negative loop.

He is 100% correct. I know all this through trial and error. It is very powerful. I literally had the last two girls that I dated, jump me on the first night I met them. I spoke to them very sparingly in text beforehand for a week or two. But I was VERY careful to keep the texts scarce and impactful (maybe a couple texts a day). Usually just replying to her. Control yourself, focus on your path and keep up your presentation. Learn to ask plenty of questions in person and make her feel like you two are the only people wherever you go. It's basically guaranteed.

One thing I found to be very impactful is simply sticking to your word. If you say you're gonna see them at work after a chat via txt, for example, then the next words to her should be coming out of your mouth at work. No matter how many days that is. That can be tough lol
I did something like this with a girl I liked after telling her, "I talked to that girl you saw me with and made it clear things weren't going to work out (they were acquaintances). I wasn't sure about her intentions until we all met up for the movie. Once I realized, then I told her I wasn't really interested in her that way. I just want to let you know that and that I really want to get to know you. I think you're great and I hope that maybe in time, if you want, we can be more than friends." She says something non-committal in response but not shutting me down either. Being aware of how forward I was being I said something like: "I know this is a bit much right now. I'll let you think about it and I won't txt you if you don't want me to. There's another get together coming up in a couple weeks, maybe I'll see you there?" And I kept radio silence the whole time.
And when I saw her there she was very receptive and smiled at me when we made eye contact for the first time. We had a great convo! Her friend, the one I turned down, was there too. And although she felt a bit awkward, it wasn't bad and she was at least able to say Hi. Most importantly though, they both had respect for me as a person cuz I stuck to my guns in everything I did, and I did them for the right reasons. And what I said was the truth, most importantly.

It depends how much she is attracted to you. If she is very much, then scarce texting can work in your favor. If she is somehow interested initially (but not blown away) - scarce texting can also show to her you don't pay attention to her, which may be a dealbreaker. Obviously you are mostly interested in girls from former category, but it's close to impossible to keep meeting girls who are all over you. Which means you need to carefully evaluate your texting strategy: too much and you are too available. Too scarce and you may be perceived as someone who ignores her. Find the sweet spot.

You're the 1st person I've seen on TH-cam say that dating is for screening people, and should be taken seriously. And that you should screen girls before you date them.
I never had issues with girls causing drama in my life cuz I always knew them for at least a couple months before asking them out. Most of the time it was about a year or so. In other words, I knew them and what kind of person they were.
Non of them worked out yet cuz of other incompatibilities that were discovered as we dated. Sometimes I had to end it, sometimes they ended it, but the reasons were always valid even when I was heart broken... Now I know more than I ever did and know exactly what I need when I see it.
Funny thing is, I find myself doing the top 3 out of the 5 things without thinking cuz I'm just being careful as I get to know someone lol Just making sure I actually know them before I ask them to commit to me and invest time in my life aka asking them out. Screening is important! It keeps girls safe from unnecessary heart break. Or your own for that matter hahaha
And if you have to back off cuz she isn't right, you'll really disappoint her, but you won't break her heart, cuz you weren't dating yet...

I literally just got back from a date with a genuinely beautiful woman Latin woman (had a thick accent) that seems down to earth, loyal, caring etc and after watching this I didn’t realize how much I botched it. Especially the setting up of dates right after the first one and trying to fill gaps in the conversation. She came off as shy so felt I had to break the silence. When it’s the girl I am interested in I mess up but when it’s not the one I’m interested in I’m suddenly doing something right 🤦🏽♂️

Not bad tips :). As a woman I will say I agree with these. The only one I would add to is the “getting women to do things for you” one, I think it goes without saying, don’t over do this and try to give back in a similar way. I definitely like the thought of giving my guy a little massage or buying the drinks for us or making something delicious to eat but as soon as this crosses the line and makes me feel like I’m doing a lot of this and mothering you I get the ick. If you’re a fully grown man then it shouldn’t be hard for you to give a similar amount back, I like a little nurturing from my man too and it makes me feel safe that he doesn’t take those actions for granted.
That is the way you should feel to. It is a relationship not an employee boss thing. Respect both ways.?

Very interesting... I'd made it a point to be self sufficient b4 I got married... after marriage we ended up working on things together and it was great and bonding. When she got pregnant with our son she also got very sick and was bed ridden. I switched back to being largely self sufficient. My son's almost 3 and my wife and I can feel distance between us. Only now do I realize that my determination to be self sufficient is pushing her away, I need to make her feel needed... without being needy....
