Back Pain Relief Exercise (Alexander Technique)

  • If you struggle with back pain-low back pain, upper back pain, chronic, or reoccurring-this video is for you! I've got a quick exercise you can do anywhere, anytime to help relieve your back quickly and, if done regularly, can overtime help you reduce back pain significantly.
    Constructive Rest is an integral part of learning the Alexander Technique and is recommended as a daily practice. Its purpose is to quiet down your nervous system, calm your mind, and relax your breathing.
    Find a quiet space in your home, turn off your devices, and lie down on a yoga mat with a few books underneath your head. Bend your knees and keep your feet flat on the floor. Make sure to remove all distractions for the 10-15 minutes that you will be lying here. Then follow along with this audio guiding your conscious thinking.
    You will begin to notice muscles relaxing, your breath slowing down, and you will feel more present and calm in your whole body.

      @@jiloking6277 yes! The Alexander Technique helps with BOTH shoulder and neck pain! A lot of what I teach begins with AWARENESS. Helping individuals, like yourself, raise their consciousness. When you are more present with HOW you're USING your physical body in your day-to-day life you can begin changing the HOW you move to become more efficient, free of tension, and more easeful/intentional.

      @@MorganRysdonCenterStudio that's really great and I'm investing in psychological and physical awareness these days ... My body is weak and I'm always exhausted and I'm sick of all the medication I consume. So I'm trying to look for more natural way to take care of myself ♥️

      So happy to hear that you're taking the time (and interest!) in investing in psychological and physical awareness. It sounds like it is quite challenging for you to care for a body that feels weak and exhausted regularly. While medication is essential in many cases, other times we're quick to turn to these pills to "fix" our body as a means of solving a problem-and, in many cases, we don't take the time to better evaluate the side effects of such medications. I hope you continue to find more relief, improved energy, and a sense of peace (daily) in the small changes/shifts that fuel your body, mind, and heart. Remember: our bodies are made to heal themselves(!), we can better help them when we keep redirecting our focus on what we CAN change (not what we can NOT change.) Good luck @Gogo Nabil!
