    I really enjoyed this one because you can see a huge difference by the 25 minute mark. When they came in, their neck and back movements were very rigid and tight (I'm not an expert but they looked to be struggling with the movements a bit at first) but halfway into the video, they seem to be effortlessly flowing off and onto the chair and their head is moving just as smoothly. Awesome to witness.
    Edit: what I think I meant was they had trouble "allowing" movement in the beginning

      @@firedrake7663 The whole point of this demonstration is to condition mind and body. If you tell someone they're slouching, they'll make a conscious effort to correct it, but sure enough, they'll forget all about it in the business of life. The Alexander technique isn't faff, it's to ensure that the teachings get drilled into your subconscious so that you don't actively have to think about it, you think about nothing, you just do what you have to do automatically. At least watch his videos and listen to his explanations before waffling on. Show some respect.

    Great promotional video for the work, having been involved with the Alexander Technique since 2010 I am very interested in your wearing of "shoes" during lessons. Having visited a number of schools and having lessons in a private home with a teacher for four years it's a first to see a teacher or pupil/student in anything other than socks on their feet.

    Is Alexander technique a mix of physiotherapy and chiropractic? Making a more practical technique?

  • @swisstrader
    @swisstrader 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I happened upon this technique quite by accident.
    I’ve had chronic sore throat pain for many years and with no help from ENT’s over the years. I accidentally found a connection between the position of my head in relation to my neck and found that when I intentionally center my head along my spine/neck, my breathing improves and there is less constriction in the throat and hence less soreness in the throat. I have a tendency to jut my head forward when I walk or when sitting.
    I have no idea if this method relatives to this at all, so looking for some input here.
