Loved the funny walks, so true that we develop these bad patterns without anyone correcting us

I am new to Alexander Technique. My teacher does not explain things much. This is so clear and actually not covered in my lessons. Thank you so much for this video. I will watch some others you made.

Hello, Nick. This is Mark, professor teaching acting and directing opera and musical theatre for a university in Louisiana. I have just been certified as an Alexander Technique teacher through ATI, and find this video helpful as I begin to teach an AT class at the University. Teaching in person until that is no longer possible. I have studied walking from John Baron and John Nichols in California, but this is very interesting and useful, thank you. Mark

Have had lessons with Nick for years. Super teacher, great guy and this video really helped me to understand how this exercise produces such freedom and lightness. How about a video on inhibition?

A really inspiring glimpse into the world of Alexander and of how what we take for granted, from childhood, could always benefit from some genuine insight and tuition. I'll be contacting you for a series of classes tomorrow. Thanks Nick.

@@AlexanderTechniqueMadeEasy I walk with my toes pointed in, wearing out the outside of my shoes. Should I practice walking "duck like?" to open the hips as you show? It feels good! #Swagger!

We slightly point the toes outwards to open the hips and generally free the walk from tension. ‘Duck like’ I have never used the term! 😂

Hi. this is good. I do this kind of walking naturally and also my head going up and down slightly when walking

Yes, thanks. Use the video to keep reminding yourself of the details. They slip away over time.

    Hi.
I suffer from chronic back pain. Torn and dehydrated discs and general wear and tear. I also have terrible posture . Can you advise on how you can help via zoom or such . Thank you

      Hi
Sorry to hear that you are suffering. I would love to help. First we need to have an initial zoom meeting, for 15 minutes, to assess how I can help. Message me npchapman@gmail.com
to arrange a free consultation. We can take it from there. Thanks.

      Hi Andrea
      Thanks for your interest.
The first 15 minutes is free. We would need to have a quick consultation to discuss your objectives. People want different things, fix back pain, deal with stress. Improve posture, work on public speaking. Send an email with times available and I’ll send a zoom invite back. Then we can set something up.
