One of my friends told me a story how her neighbors 2 outside cats would bring dead critters home and leave in the doorway when they were let in. Well, they also had an inside cat who must have been studying for years to be just like his cat mates. One day the inside cat got out and the neighbors called and called the kitty...but he didn't come. He was never outside before, but watched everything thru the Windows. It was a windy autumn day. After an hour they heard him crying to come in. They opened the door and there he was...sitting on the porch with a big oak leaf in his mouth. He dropped at their feet, meowed and walked thru the door. To him the leaves were as elusive and hard to catch...as the critters were to his cat mates; and he wanted to show his love. After 40 years I still think of this story and smile.
@@raukoring well... it's not. My grandmas cat loves me and does almost all if these . I like blinking slowly back at him, because I know what it means.... you're the one who doesn't know anything.
When our cats start their running at 2a-3am, we call it the zoom zooms. Normally they do this for about 10 mins and then collapse on the bed and fall asleep.
My little boy talks to us as well we never know what he's trying to say but he feels we understand him completely. We love conversating with him it's so adorable when he responds when we talked to him or even ask a question
My youngest cat is so attached to me; it’s not even funny. He HAS to be in the same room with me. Or he will cry all night long. He always needs to see where I am at. If I hide my face from him, he will look everywhere to see where my face is. We think he wasn’t weaned when we got him. So he is overly attached to me. I love him so much. I have 4 cats and I love them all equally ❤️
JenniLeeann mine does the same. Found her in the middle of the road at 1.5 months. The first night she slept on my shoulder while I sat on the couch. She still tries to do this at 9 months. Doesn’t want to be left alone and will go everywhere with you lol. I have another cat - she is ms.independent, “i will come when I want, not when you call” lol. I love cats!!

Mine is the same. I used to joke that I got a cat, not a dog, so he better stop acting so needy! He doesn't like when I leave the house for too long or sleep until noon. He's also always on my lap or laying on my belly. It's been 8 years and he's still the same. I don't know what I would do without him.
My cat is dying. He used to jump as high as a doorway and play hide then attack strangers as they went by. We will always love and remember you, Panther.
I'm sorry about your kitty. My cat, named Sunday, passed away 2 years ago from cancer. The last week of her life, she went to every room in the house and stayed for awhile, as if she were telling all the rooms good-by. At the end of the week, she gave my dog a head-bunt, crawled in my lap and passed away.
@@karengolden7298 my eyes are welled-up with tears from both of your comments. Been through that loss myself and it is never easy. You will always remember your faithful companions.
Condolences to all you lovely cat people I feel ur pain and loss these kits truly have a way to enter and live within our hearts forever. Is worse than losing a family member sometimes
Im so sorry, my hamster died half a yr ago, then I got my cat but ive been dreading the day that happens ( i hope she dies in my lap like karen golden) But fortunately my cat is very young and healthy! knock on wood
Mine only seems to get possessed every now and again, its the times she goes behind me PC desk with about 100 wires and usually makes my Modem/many other things fall, but lately she has mastered the art of dodging all the wires and coming out gently on her own when I call her thank god.
Mine doesn't start till 4 am. Keeps going till sunrise. Spends about a hour or so getting ready for it around nightfall. Must be a long and complicated ritual.
My cat does all of this. But the weirdest thing my cat does is she doesn't let me sleep in or miss my alarms. The second my alarm goes off she'll go and jump on the bed, walk over to me, sit next to me and slowing continue to tap me until I wake up so I'm not late. She's basically better than any phone alarm because she'll keep nagging no matter how many times I try to snooze her lol.
All my cats have done that too, it's like they know when the alarm will go off and keep pawing your face til you get up. They're like little alarm clocks. I think they memorize our schedules, so they know when food and attention happens.
My sisters cat did this, she didn't have an alarm, but everyday by 5am when he knew she was supposed to be awake, he'd jump on her stomach to wake her up.
My cat Kiki (1993-2008) would jump into the bathtub while someone is sitting on the toilet and play hide and seek behind the shower curtain. We'd poke the shower curtain and he'd try to "catch" the person's finger. Afterward, he'd want a fresh drink of water from the bathroom sink faucet. It's been 10 years since he crossed the rainbow bridge and I still miss him.
The memories of our pets never really truly leave us. I lost both of my dogs last year and one of my senior cats last December and I can still visualize them where they used to roam around. I understand what you feel. I wish they lived as long as we do.
@@coolray3565 Sorry. hehe But I still get an automatic spike of delight whenever I see dogs with the same colors mine had. I reflexively think and feel, "That's my dog!"
My cat acts like a dog. She plays fetch, barks at laser pointers and scratches the door when she wants in or out. She is definitely entertaining, that’s for sure!
You’re right. I talk to my two cats all the time, and I’ve noticed that they actually understand a great many words and sentences - and, even better, sometimes they do as I ask them! My 10yo male is ginger, and my vet told me the first time I brought him the cat that I might be surprised, because it’s been statistically proven that ginger cats are more docile than others. It has proven to a be entirely true, sometimes I feel like I have a dog-cat.
Intelligence is one thing but cat's gift is actually empathy. Very human-like since their brians use similar circuts to ours. Yet we do confuse cats with worse hearing and sense of smell than their own and with different body language and atttude towards touch. Cats prefer eye communication while we do need touch. Cats learn those differences with time what for sure proves those predators are intelligent. Otherwise we would constantly scare them with being "socially ackward" and they would keep attacking us or avoiding us. And this is not the case. So cats must be quite intelligent.
Ah thanks my moms boyfriend has 4 cats and one of them follows me everywhere and rubs on me and a lot of other things like , rolling on back next to me, sleeping on my bed, licking me, plays with me, and some other nice things :)
I've been feeding a feral for almost a year, he came as a kitten but someone else was feeding him and did a trap and release (bless them), but over the summer he came and never left. I rigged a shelter on my stoop for him, after investing in feral huts and making shelters from UTube, which he wanted no part of. Over time and after every day feeding and wooing him, he let me pet him, then did the belly roll, purring, and rubbing on me. The other night it went down to -10, so I got him into my house (a front room with a door til I can vet him just in case - gotta keep my other 5 safe) He's soooo happy, he made himself at home and I'm thrilled to add another kitty to my family! The belly showing was the break through, I knew he trusted and loved me! 💜😻💜
My feral cats i fed for months also howing his belly and rubbing his head on me constantly but 2 of them also effing bite me! One on my hand and another one on my leg. I got scared and tried to go back into my house but she holding me with her paws and her sharp claws while the male just standing on stairs blocking my only way in. Now i got scared when i give them food and they stare at my face.
Aww I wish I still had my cat sadly he passed away he never did anything bad he was a such a angel, now I have a new cat and it was a whole different cat sassy, and mean ;-;
My cat looked for me when she want to give birth, i made a big private quiet dark box for her but she still want to give birth beside me. I prepare another open box for her, put her inside and only when i pat her, she start pushing. And i need to continue patting her until all of her kittens came out and also during her first nursing. She doesnt bring her cat anywhere, she just let her kittens inside that box which is beside my bed. After 10 days, i changed the box, took the kittens to the new box and they stay inside the box until the kittens all can climbed out of the box. She is super protective and just allow only me to touch her kittens.
Many years ago, I had an older all-gray female cat, Miscy, who was about 16 yrs, and a much younger all-gray female cat Sadie, approx 2 yrs (they could almost be twins). Just as Sadie was about to deliver her kittens, I put her in a large cardboard box to deliver her kittens in. She jumped out and went behind the sofa where Miscy was. I put Sadie back in the box. She jumped out again, to be with Miscy. So I put both Miscy and Sadie in the box, and Sadie delivered 4 black little bundles of joy (Sadie is a shorthair all gray cat, the daddy was an all black persian). Sadie just wanted to be with Miscy for moral support, I guess. But it was the sweetest thing ever. I have a picture of Miscy and Sadie laying in the box (almost spooning), with two baby kittens with Miscy, and two kittens with Sadie. Sweetest picture of two best friends. Love that picture.
I was in the process of socializing a feral older cat. He would move back and forth on my lap, and make strange sounds. Prior to his move-in, he hung around with chickens for years. You know how chickens walk around making a strange sound while picking food on the ground. When this cat who I named Tressie Lions, would make these strange sounds resembling those chickens. I would say to him, ok, Tressie, you are "him-hawing" again. He would be quiet for a moment. I would talk. He would be answering me, in that "him-haw" sounds. My other three cats, never made that strange sound, resembling chickens, walking around the barnyard, picking the ground. Cats are amazing!

For cats ultimate sign trust of trusting somebody is when they take their kittens and move them to your bed when you are lying in it. It is like her saying to you this is safest place in world.
When my daughter was about 4, our cat Mittens, had kittens in her bed. My daughter came running into my room, fresh kitten in each hand, trying to tell me what happened. I jumped up, certain Mittens would be out for blood. She was still in my daughters bed, happy as could be. I had a very strong with animals very early on & this trait carried to my baby girl. She & I worked together in animal care for many years & still use our nicknames; Momma Kitty & Baby Kitty. If we get separated in a store, I just holler "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty". My cat blesses me when I sneeze. He makes the little chattering noise every time. He also knows the word "what?". I can have a five minute conversation with him because every time I say what to his first meow he answers me. The conversation only ends when I get tired of saying what.
I once had a cat that would hunt for his little fur mice at night and in the morning I would find at least one in his water bowl! I had to stop buying brightly colored mice because they would color the water. Miss you Buddy.
whenever I go outside or whenever I come home from school, I always find my cat sitting or sleeping on my slippers and when he sees me...he just rushes to me and rubs himself to me...till I pick him up... he loves me
We have 3 cats but only one of them knows how to go out of the room by jumping on the lever type door handle. Pretty smart so we call her our escape artist - she's only a rescued kitten but is so adorable with her tricks and antics. Each cat is endeating in different ways, no to mention color.
My cat don't bring me dead things. She brings mice and those big fuzzy brown spiders. She comes running up to me and drops them in my lap. Have had several mice run up my shorts trying to get away from the cat. Freaks me out when she drops a spider and it's running over and under trying to hide. Freaks me out her having an alive spider in her mouth. If I grab the mouse and toss it away she just keeps catching it and bringing it back and dropping it. If I'm trying to get it away from me she lays down and watch's. Thinking she thinks it's funny. Lol about 60 with multiple health problems but let me tell you when a mouse runs up inside your shorts legs you can move faster than any teenager. In about one month she dropped ten spiders on my lap
My cat knocks on the door when she wants to come in. She does this by lifting and dropping the door stop, which makes a loud knocking sound on the floor. She keeps doing it until I let her in. I don’t know how she learned to do this, perhaps the first time she did it was just out of curiosity and playfulness, but it brought me to the door, which I opened to see who was there. Now she does it whenever she wants in. It works for me! This cracks other people up, though. I’ve had friends tell me “Someone’s knocking at your door,” to which I respond “Oh, it’s just the cat, can you let her in?” When they answer the door and the cat is there, they can’t figure out how she knocked! I don’t explain it to them, I just shrug and say “She’s a smart cat!” 🤣😂😅
My adopted stray in Spain knew immediately the cow bell l hung on the front door from a red ribbon was for him to tap to come in. l bought it in the Sunday market believing l would need to demonstrate tapping it myself in front of 'Magic' But he rang it later that same day without tuition. Sounds like your neighbor's cat wanted you as her/his human companion. Years ago, our next door neighbours adopted a kitten, and from the gitgo he just loved my Dad and wanted to be his BFF. He was highly intelligent and It didn't take long to 'win us over' and move in - he had a range of "aren't I just the cutest kitten!" routines. Before long he totally ignored his former owners; it was quite embarrassing as he wouldn't let them near him. He grew into a beautiful big brown tabby boy - 10kg (22lbs) - absolutely adored Dad, and tolerated the rest of the family. He was totally devo when Dad died - it was so sad seeing him wandering around the house looking for Dad; I don't think he really ever got over the loss of his 'first best friend'. He died suddenly 12 months later himself and, I like to think, joined Dad in spirit. I'll miss them both forever.
There is badger, fox, lynx, wolf, and wolverine in the forest around my house, so putting a bell on the cat is not a good idea, you must remember that a cat is not only a predator, he is also prey
Good point. I've also read that the bell can make them feel miserable for not being as successful at hunting as before, and it could even make them feel depressed. Not recommended at all.
Yes. My friends had one of their little cats picked up and taken away by AN EAGLE in their big backyard west of Washington, DC. All that was left was the kitty's collar, which had been snapped in two by a talon.

It was a windy autumn day. After an hour they heard him crying to come in. They opened the door and there he was...sitting on the porch with a big oak leaf in his mouth. she talks to me, having full conversations. going on for half an hour or so and chimes in when i'm talking to others so she knows her input is valued.
My mom and her cat would do before he passed away.
The breed of cat I have, a Burmese, is a chatterbox. Always talking and always trying to talk when I am on the phone.
This post makes me feel the full potential of so many feelings. I think i've made my point.
bipolar cat. should do medical check up
My little boy talks to us as well we never know what he's trying to say but he feels we understand him completely.
I love cats!!
zvezdapadalica15 🥺🥺🥺 awe... I’m glad your cat is safe and sound 💖. I have another cat that use to be “ms. Independent” but now she’s gotten super attached to me too. I open the door to the bathroom, she runs in. And she will cry at the door till she’s in 😂 They all have their own special personality 😍
Mine is the same. I used to joke that I got a cat, not a dog, so he better stop acting so needy! He doesn't like when I leave the house for too long or sleep until noon. He's also always on my lap or laying on my belly. It's been 8 years and he's still the same. I don't know what I would do without him.
@benjovi55 Let us know when Peanut decides to do stand-up or creates a soundcloud account!
JenniLeeann awwwww poor kitty
Whenever we have visitors home, our cat always sits and lays down in middle of us as he is the owner of the house😂
I know something weirder.
I'm a furry, and my cat is more human like than some may think.
She's definitely smarter than me by too much! No joke!
Mine gets in between me and my husband. She hates for us to be too close.
I doubt it necessarily has to do with being dominant, but they just like the love and attention.

What's the weirdest thing your Cat does? Summoning Demons at 3 AM.
Mine only seems to get possessed every now and again, its the times she goes behind me PC desk with about 100 wires and usually makes my Modem/many other things fall, but lately she has mastered the art of dodging all the wires and coming out gently on her own when I call her thank god.

My cats have been ignoring me for 4 days now...all we did was go to the vet 😭😂 DIVAS!
Oh, oh. You better sleep with your eyes open for a few weeks.
How could you do that to them??? 😂😂
Mine does that too. Kind of annoying on non work days but its ok hes my fur son
.
My sisters cat did this, she didn't have an alarm, but everyday by 5am when he knew she was supposed to be awake, he'd jump on her stomach to wake her up.
vanessa delgado my cats do this too!
I wish they lived as long as we do.

mine too!!! ha ha
My cat tought itself how to open doors
You’re right. I talk to my two cats all the time, and I’ve noticed that they actually understand a great many words and sentences - and, even better, sometimes they do as I ask them! My 10yo male is ginger, and my vet told me the first time I brought him the cat that I might be surprised, because it’s been statistically proven that ginger cats are more docile than others. It has proven to a be entirely true, sometimes I feel like I have a dog-cat.
Myriam
Cats dont understand us but the get used to the sounds we make very often and can usualy figure it out
Intelligence is one thing but cat's gift is actually empathy.
My cat runs towards me and attacks my ankles when I’m not looking.

Schya Zhare best feel ever
Schya Zhare all my momma cats made me deliver their babies.....

I had a female cat who had their first litter of kittens on me when i was sleeping (needless to say that was a messy night).
Or they are saying here you tend them for awhile
Or she's tired and is saying "Your turn." 😊
When my daughter was about 4, our cat Mittens, had kittens in her bed. My daughter came running into my room, fresh kitten in each hand, trying to tell me what happened. I jumped up, certain Mittens would be out for blood. She was still in my daughters bed, happy as could be. I had a very strong with animals very early on & this trait carried to my baby girl. She & I worked together in animal care for many years & still use our nicknames; Momma Kitty & Baby Kitty. If we get separated in a store, I just holler "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty".

I lifted the cover and he went under the cover, so I believe he remembered me! He and his "sister" friend have been gone for decades now, but I have such fond memories of them with their individual, distinct personalities, just as each human person has.
Mine too
Only time my cats like going under the covers is when either me or the wife is making the bed.
@@johnkrieger3691 I hear ya. Heaven forbid should you make a bed in the presence of a cat
@@catonthemoon2084 lost our cat, Scamp, to kidney disease right before Christmas. He would foil every attempt to put clean sheets on the bed. Miss that rascal!

The Grey Duke LOL! So cute!
Cats aren't nocturnal, they're crepuscular. This means they are more active at dawn or dusk.
Cats are nocturnal. That's why they can see in the dark or dusk and their eyes glow. They like hunting at night.
@@Jannika_Op Cats can't see in the dark, they only see better than us in the twilight.
They can see in the dark... all cats can it's in their nature. Why do you think witches had cats. They can see spirits. Do you ever see a cat bump into things in the dark.. noo.
@@Jannika_Op Cats can't see in the dark, nobody can because in order to see you need light, and in the dark, by definition, there is no light.
@@jamesrosemary2932 there can be small amounts of light, such as light from stars or the moon, therefore, they can see in the dark. thats how mafia works dude
A cats' trust has to be EARNED. Once you earn it, it's a very satisfying thing.
We have a Rottweiler named Pebbles and 8 months ago We rescued a kitten, Simbe, he sticks Like Glue to Pebbles. We even had to buy him a harness and Leash so he can go out when she went out because he was upset to be separated from her and the only time he sleeps on his back is around her. I kind of figured he knows that nobody's going to mess with him with her around😂
All the dislikes are by RATS 😂
😂😂.lol
People choose cats over the far better dogs for only 2 reasons.
1. They don't have to walk a cat and therefore no poopa scooping
2. Allergic to dog fur
Any and all other reasons people may give is total bs as dogs a far better companions

My kitty sits in my laundry tub and waits for the exact moment the washer starts to empty and then jumps out just to stare at all the water going down the drain!!
I had a cat that would bring mice frogs and once a bird ALIVE! inside. That Bell idea genius
I smiled the entire time I watched this. I LOVE CATS!!! 🐈🐱🐯🦁🐅🐆

My cats don't run around in the middle of the night, they usually do it during the evening lol. They dragrace through the rooms making the cutest "mrrr" noise. Sometimes they'll jump for the doorways and cling to them before dropping down and taking off again. I think it's hilarious.

Never bell a cat. Cat hearing is may times more sensitive than ours, while the tinkling bell is not too bad for us, imagine that same bell a few centimeters away from your ears and it being about 10 times louder. Have that all day every time you move. Cats hunt, it's in their nature, if you don't like it, don't get a cat.
SpudHead 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I can’t believe the video said to do that!
The sad irony is so many pet cats can mean the local wildlife is massively impacted by all these extra predators.
@@borismuller86 if there were no domestic cats there would be no humans anymore. They are extremely putting down population of rodents that would otherwise swarm us.
Do you have a cat? You can have speakers turned to max so the roof is jumping while you watch a movie/listen to music and the cat would be sleeping next to the speaker. That said. Bell makes cats a better predator they learn to prowl without it making noise therefore making them even better. Tested it on 3 cats. When they walk round the house it's ringing. When they see a pray and start to sneak it won't make a sound. Until they jump to catch but that's already too late
The if I fits, I sits memes have brought me to think that cats can just morph into a liquid
My cat unlocks the child safety locks on the fridge and microwave to access all the food inside. We have tried several different types of child locks but he figures them out.

Now if he was trying to climb into your lap at the time, that could get awkward.

I love our 4 mth old kitties that we adopted during C19. Part of the agreement was to never let them outside. I've never had an exclusively indoor cat, but I love it now. I have been able to bond with them like no others I have had in the past. We plan to build a catio soon so they can watch the yard full of bunnies, squirrels and birds. My neighbor’s cat used to come to my house, bunting and kneading me. Also blinking at me slowly.
My got my cat George so spoiled and love it!! He’s like my favorite person, people say I treat him like he’s human lol but I just love him so much💙
I stared at a street cat for a moment and then it slowly blinked at me every few seconds, does that mean it trusts me?
It means that it is comfortable
So blink at it slowly when it does it
There is badger, fox, lynx, wolf, and wolverine in the forest around my house, so putting a bell on the cat is not a good idea, you must remember that a cat is not only a predator, he is also prey
Good point.
I've also read that the bell can make them feel miserable for not being as successful at hunting as before, and it could even make them feel depressed. Not recommended at all.
not to mention how good their hearing is! A bell that close to their ears would make any cat miserable.
very good point. don't leave food outside either. We've had cougars lately.
Yes. My friends had one of their little cats picked up and taken away by AN EAGLE in their big backyard west of Washington, DC. All that was left was the kitty's collar, which had been snapped in two by a talon.
Yes, I recently saw a news story that coyotes living in Chicago (yes, there are alot there), cats make up half their diet!! :(
