  • Cats are one of the most popular pets in the world. And they can be just as playful, cuddly, and friendly as their canine counterparts! Are you a cat person? Are you considering getting one? Well, you probably should leave the following 10 dangerous cat breeds off your list of potential candidates.
    TIMESTAMPS:
    Pallas’s cat 0:58
    The Savannah 2:14
    The Chausie 3:40
    The Jungle cat 443
    The Abyssinian 5:43
    The British Shorthair 6:52
    The Maine Coon 7:51
    The Mekong Bobtail 8:48
    The Siamese 9:43
    The Bobcat 10:55
    Music: th-cam.com/users/audiolibrary...
    SUMMARY:
    - The distinct trait of Pallas’s cat is its un-cat-like round eyes and pupils. The important question is: can you tame this kitty? The short answer is: no.
    - The Savannah is a crossbreed between the African Serval and your common domestic house cat. It has a long neck, body, and legs with dark-brown to black spots all over its coat.
    - Also known as the “Nile cat,” this breed is a cross between an Abyssinian domestic cat and a Jungle cat. Its wild ancestor, the Jungle cat, is the very one that the ancient Egyptians worshipped!
    - The Jungle cat's scientific name is Felis chaus, but it also goes by the “Swamp Lynx,” Swamp Cat,” or “Reed Cat.” While the name would have you think otherwise, this cat does not live in the jungle but rather in wetlands with dense vegetation.
    - The Aby is one of the oldest domesticated cat breeds. Believed to originate from Abyssinia, which is modern-day Ethiopia, most experts nowadays site Egypt as the breed’s place of origin.
    - If you’re familiar with the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland or Puss in Boots in Shrek, then you’ve definitely met some of the on-screen representations of the British Shorthair. This breed can weigh up to 20 pounds and lives up to about 20 years.
    - The Maine Coon is a large breed that can weigh up to 20 pounds or more. It also received celebrity status as “Mrs. Norris” in the Harry Potter movies.
    - The Mekong Bobtail can weigh up to 10 pounds and has a lifespan of up to 18 years. And, of course, we can’t forget to mention this breed’s most unique feature: its tiny little bobbed tail!
    - The Siamese is the most talkative and opinionated cat out there! It demands to be entertained and showered with attention 24/7. It can be pretty cautious around strangers and outright naughty when left alone at home!
    - Known as Lnyx rufus in the scientific community, the Bobcat is a nocturnal animal with a natural habitat in the wild. Yet some people are brave (or silly) enough to make them pets.

Dogs don't feel like giving love at times as well. They're just presented in different ways the cats. And I don't see why it always has to be a competition between the two animals. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It's not a species conflict, it's a territorial conflict. Cat would react the same old violent and emotionally impulsive way to someone invading their territory just as a dog would. I have never owned a dog, at least not yet, but I love both animals very very much. Both make awesome pets. I have done a lot of research on cats and dogs. Cats, or another words the specific breeds you mentioned, are only dangerous if you don't know how to handle them. Just like owning a wolf is. The Cat I currently live with now, a basic domesticated black, cat loves to play fetch.

@Elzie Mai a cat is only those things if they're spoiled by their owners. I've been a cat owner all my life since I was a toddler. The Cat I live with now, a basic domesticated black cat, loves to play fetch.

He is literally the skiddish fluffball that constantly meows at me every 5 minutes to let me know he is alive. And than he has his "happy days" where he demands to be petted until he falls asleep purring.

I'm 50 and have "owned" cats since I was 13 ... Imo if you show them love and kindness they are lovely pets and companions . My Rosie is about 8 years old. My ex-wife worked for a cat rescue shelter and fostered her at first. She was found at about 2 or 3 years old , emaciated and flea infested in a box at the roadside. Under her were her dead kittens . She made good progress in the shelter and was wet nurse to many abandoned kittens while there. She is the sweetest girl , loves people , children and other animals.

Pallas cat isn't dangerous at all. I know one that comes into my house when I'm cooking and leaving the door open to let the smoke out. It wanders in, I feed it some warm fish and a bowl of milk and it comes and I pet it. When I first met it I have to admit it was kind of scared and it looked hungry. I even doubted it was a cat. But it's my friend. Not dangerous at all. I can tell you that. At least my one isn't.

I have a Bengal kitten and she definitely sounds like the Savanna cat. She acts like a dog so often but still had overall cat behavior. She does love water, including toilet diving 😕, walks in a leash pretty well without being taught, and even off leash she'll come over when you call her name. I noticed she also understands commands and some words. She's really needy, cuddly and always by your side, just like a dog. You really have to set boundaries and be firm occasionally. She has only destroyed curtains/sheers so far. I lucked out because she is tiny, around ten pounds at over 1 year old.

@@Adriana-333 I remember as a kid in the 60's, many people I knew got Siamese cats. It was a craze. The ones that were pure bred often were cross eyed. They all were CRAZY. High strung and eratic... not friendly to anyone who didn't feed them. A family member adopted a mix breed of Siamese, and tabby. It looked just like a full Siamese, but was sweet and gentle, and very friendly to everyone.
My theory is, that there must have been an effort to improve the breed, because my recent experience with Siamese cats has been very positive.

    I have some interesting facts about cats;
    1. This list describes the attitude, personalities and behavior of pretty much every cat I have ever met.
    2. This list is ridiculously wrong about so many things involving domestic cat breeds that it's just plain silly.
    3. My cat Moxie is all black. Built like an Abyssinian, talks like a Siamese, hunts like a Panther and is more affectionate than most dogs I've met. She also plays fetch, sits on command, jumps up on my shoulder strait from the floor without using claws and once flipped a wrench out of a toolbox at my significant other while we were arguing. She is a wonderful genetic mishmash of cats that you can only get from rescuing a kitten found in an alley. She is also the epitome of everything "Bad" and "Good" stated about all of the breeds in this video and I wouldn't have her any other way.
    4. This list is wrong in so many areas. Yes, I know I said that already but it needed to be said again.. That is how many mistakes were stated in the video.

I didn't see her for almost 8 months after she was brought into the house. She hid the whole time and would only come out when everyone was asleep. She then one day just came out of hiding and sat next to me, rubbed her cheek against my leg and started purring up a storm. After that you never would have guessed that she had once been feral and a complete terror.

I grew up having Siamese cats - they're the only breed I'm not violently allergic to. Currently I have a sibling pair and they're better entertainment than the internet and tv put together... they're loud and demanding but also hilarious and snuggly. I think the best advice I could give to someone considering getting a meezer is two-fold - if you can, get two. My meezers don't really see other breeds of cats as cats at all... it's hard to explain but I honestly think they "speak a different dialect" than say, tabbies.... and Siamese really do get desperately lonely (which often leads to aggression) if they don't have either siamese or human company (either will do). Secondly, Siamese are highly trainable... so train them!
My meezer duo knows "come," "get down," "let's go see," "no," and "breakfast/dinner/bed time."... and they know them in English and Irish. (The Irish is just because I'm learning Irish and sometimes it's handy to be able to give the cats commands in such a way that they can't pretend they didn't know who you were talking to.) I started training them the day I got them... not in any kind of intensive way, I just incorporated commands into their play. Four years on, I never have problems with them hopping on the table or the kitchen counters, they don't steal my food, they've never bitten or scratched anyone on purpose (accidents happen, of course)... they're a delight in every way (and it's really cool to be able to say "Let's go see!" and know that your cats will follow you wherever you're headed!)... but it did take some work to get them there. The tradeoff, though, is that I now have impeccably well behaved kitties that very rarely need discipline... they know where they're allowed to go and not go and they don't tend to test the boundaries often. Basically, don't be afraid to treat your meezers like dogs when it comes to training... they'll take to it like ducks to water and you'll end up with a very secure, snuggly kitty who, like mine, greets you by throwing their paws around you in a "hug" and purring up a storm. (They really, really love their humans!)

I am allergic to cats too, but lately I have been having visitors. There are two cats, one is a Siamese & the other I’m not really sure. They come by my apartment door and meow until I come and let them in. I give them some fresh water and treats, they let me cuddle and pet them for a bit and then they go by the door and meow until I let them out. I just found out that they live a couple of houses down from me. The family has a new baby and the cats have been escaping through the doggy door to get away from the colicky bundle of joy. Apparently the cats visit me and the retired couple who live next door. I guess the pup that lives with my new friends doesn’t mind the noise!

Which bit, the part about having snuggly Siamese? The male of my pair is currently asleep on my head, purring up a storm, so yes, they're snuggly. And loud (his sister is currently trying out various meows at the top of her lungs in the kitchen because she likes the echo). Siamese have a lot of personality and they're not for everyone, but if they're well socialised, they're funny, enjoy human company, and tend toward doggish behaviour. They will chat back to you whether you want them to or not, but that's part of the fun, if you really like the breed.

Nero was loyale to a fault, greeted me when i came home (whatever time of day or night) allways at peace when around me, kicked the neighboors dogs of our grounds multiple times and was cuddly as heck when he wanted to ... otherwise verry gentle and allways gave of plenty of warning (okay you have to "speak cat" to get that) but never got defensive "out of the blue". But yeah the whole pick me up thing was not much his either (short times for parking him somewhere else were fine though).

I have had a Bobcat Hybrid for almost 7 years. He is more intelligent than any Dog I have trained for Police work in 32 years. Gentle as a Baby with me but stand offish with strangers until I properly introduce them. He is leash trained something my vet has a heart attack over every time I take in for his booster shots. Very flirtatious with females. And only ask for at least 4 hours a day to go out and hunt.
His mom was a grey tabby and was pounced by a Bobcat while in heat. I got him at age of 4 weeks where he was already hunting for his meals rather than fight 23 brothers and sisters for a chance to nurse or get a place a the huge bowl of cat food put out for them.
He is my little buddy, my guardian, and my watchdog all in 1 very sweet little 25 pound boy..

I've had 2 Abbysennian cats... The best ever!! They're smart and my current female plays with my 3 year old. He's an only child and she's like his sister! She sleeps with us and is absolutely adorable! They do like to climb and chase moving objects and will sometimes stalk and chase your feet while walking but it's harmless and quite funny! The claws are not out so they let you know it's all in fun. To some, this can be viewed as "aggressive" if you haven't been around cats. Do your research however take this video with an open mind and heart ❤

My brother owned a siamese most of my life, they are not territorial. In fact they are very protective of there family, Charlie one bit some older kids that were bullying me when I was young become he didn't like the way they treated me. On top of that Savannahs can remain extensively calm and well behaved if you train them young, if you get two as kittens like most other breeds they will entertain each other so they wont start knocking things off of shelves for fun.
