We are really enjoying these daily videos, they are really great at providing us with some entertainment in these strange time. Also thanks again for the feature/shoutout in the last viewers video, it's been a great boost for the channel and has almost pushed us half way to our target for the year. Is great to see bigger channels helping smaller ones like ourselves: )
I just wanted to take the time to say that after watching this video last week I visited SMPS2012 and bought a full set of dechrome items (grill, handles, light surrounds, badges, the lot). My Mini looks fantastic, I couldn't be happier. Thanks for showing me how good they look Ped! And thanks so SMPS2012. Outstanding!
Hi Pete, just a little idea, no need to go to all the expense of de-chroming the rear Clubman badge, simply get a hairdryer place on each appropriate letter and prize off with a plastic-type lever instrument. Far to much clutter to the rear of this lovely vehicle anyway ( Let`s face it everybody knows it`s a Clubman ) 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Ordered mine for my Mini Countryman JCW. Changed the headlight surrounds and rear light cluster surrounds but these are far better as just clip on . Ordered belt line kit and the door handle covers. 😀😀
Use nylon fishing line, will cut through the adhesive backing behind the clubman lettering.then use some ‘sticky stuff’ glue remover. Bit of polish then job done. It would look even better without the front/back mini badges removed but if you like them on that’s all good. Just looked unfortunately mini have pin holes behind the badges so then you need a body shop to fill and spray😩 Thanks again for these Carvid 19 blogs👍😄👏
I was really unsure before you started this, but when it was finished I changed my mind. It finishes it off just right. Looking forward to seeing how you fare getting the letters off the back doors. Another great video, thanks.
Wow!! What a difference. So satisfying to do too. Had to laugh with the stickers inside the handles stating which door, just the sort of thing I would do in my rush to get them fitted 😂. It a great improvement and finishes it nicely.
De-chromed my Mocha Black CLS AMG 63S door handle tops. Took it to a paint shop, they painted them, matched to body colour. Didn’t cost too much, great finish, after 2 years paint still looks like new, was worried it might come off with use, especially driver’s door. Think it cost £180 from memory. Also wrapped the chrome window surrounds and bonnet chrome strip, same colour as wheels (dark gun metal). Didn’t cost much either, think just over £140 (they do have to use a big piece of wrap, to ensure one continuous strip along the top,or the door frame).
Looking good, you are a real man you don't read the instructions, the black handles do look good plus being plastic they won't scratch and let the material underneath, loved the pigeon in the background showing his approval! 👍😮😀
Petrol Ped They are those books you find after you have fitted or built it. I did phone customer support when I bought a compound mitre saw and it wasn’t cutting square and they said didn’t you read page 4 of the set up guide in the manual where it shows you how to check it is cutting square. I said what manual and then I found it. Oops 😬
Just started subscribing to you the last 6 months, ive got a 2020 pepper white jcw clubman with black roof and wheels and thanks to you ive just ordered fullset of black door handles, badges a rear lettering. Car is still being ceramic coated and im about to order the Remus exhaust i saw on a previous video of yours. Thank you so much for your excellent videos. Cheers Robin
I’ve got an R56 Cooper S, watching your videos are just making me want to do more and more to mine! Keep them coming great content!! I took mine to Lohen for a stage 1 after watching you get the performance pack 2, it’s fair to say what a difference!
Looks clean and fantastic. Charlie is dripping with that dope swagger now. Also watched the Clubman removal and it looks fantastic. Keep these up my British brother.
My Clubman was delivered today, so I am out in the garage putting on my door handles, watching your video to make sure I am doing it correctly. What fun, I have a box full of goodies to install on the new car.
Spot on Pedro, wife caught me watching you and she loved you, also showed her the pups, which she thought were cute (she wants one). Main thing she loved your video of the mini. Well done keep it up, it's keeping us sane during the lockdown.
So I'm one step ahead of you by having no badges on the back (as well as no stripes) but now because I like the fit of these as you have demonstrated, I am ordering these while I watch! Ultimately I would like the MINI ones but am not confident to fit them myself (if you undo the locating bolt of the handle too far it drops into the door which means removing the door card !) so until i can get back to Bracknell the covers will do nicely. As will the black badge cover for the front. A good review and the product sells itself I think 👍 Shame that review so good that there are no gloss black handles currently in stock !! But coming by Friday ...
Excellent as ever Pete - The JCW Clubman is really coming on! - amazing how a few simple and well executed mods make such a difference! - Top Work Fella! - Look after yourself and stay safe bud!👍👍👍
Looking good. I run the caps on my mini. For your clubman badge use a little bit if heat and some dental floss behind the letters to remove them. Then something to remove the glue reside, wd40 works but I use a tar and glue remover
Hi Pete, I hope you decreased the handles and badges first for better adhesion. I like what you've done on Charley but I'm personally not into dechroming and the murdered out look on modern cars, it works on 50s or 60s yank mobiles but not modern cars in my humble opinion lol. Good to see you keeping busy with the Carvid-19 videos, keeping me sane whilst on lockdown. Take care mate 👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁
I Have to agree they look good, and yes the 3M type tape is a #@#@! to get off, so now im even considering this for Ethel Clubman. Another great video buddy and thanks Andrew 😊
Such a simple and easy Mod. I think we can tell for some certainty how good you're at DIY. By the struggle to get the backing off the tape! Great content as per usual, and thanks for the entertainment!
Wow! Am loving the black door handles and front and rear badges! I currently run a 2010 E350cdi, which is a great car - but not much fun! Would love to get a clubman, and watching Charlie is making me salivate! That said - like every other sensible person, I am currently getting about 4 weeks to the gallon! :D Fair play to smps 2012 - Looks like they do some quality kit! WE have a 2011 Cooper D, I would love to fit "italian job" spotlights to it! Of the cars that we have the Mini has the weakest headlights, so am thinking a couple of spotlights, perhaps cree LED ones, wired to highbeam - so boooooF instant daylight!! Loving your daily videos! ... Thank you!
Great results. I just wish the clip on handle covers where available for more cars. We've used them on the mini and it's a great product with an OEM finish. No need to replace the handles or spend mini/BMW money.
Looks great! Wasn’t sure when you mentioned doing the handles, but it really works. Much more cohesive. Charlie’s looking good. The rear doors will look much cleaner without the lettering. Looking forward to seeing the finished result. Oh, and I’ve used sponges to clean my cars for over 30 years and I’ve never scratched one. It all depends on how careful you are. Wash mitts are a different story, however. I await the backlash! Good job, Pete!
Quality Pete, thoroughly enjoyable watching you transform your JCW. The nerves at the start and the euphoria during and after make for some serious entertainment. Personally, the handles and badges look immense, the belt-line imperfections would annoy the hell out of me, but then I am overly fastidious. I think all things considered, you’ve done a brilliant job all round and Charlie looks excellent. Great content as always buddy, look forward to the de-badging. One thing, no Stanley knife for this, pretty please... 😉
Great minds think alike. When we got our mini, it has the blacked out light surrounds and door handles, but that was it. So I did same as you - I dechromed the belt line, added the black badge covers and I also then went and replaced the silver 'Cooper S' with black letter versions (if you are keeping the Clubman lettering you need to change it to black). You should maybe checkout the guys at killallchrome.
Charlie is definitely looking g good now, well done. Not a bead of sweat or frustrating frown to be seen, just a beaming smile, although I was waiting for the " un-reasuring snap" @11.38 :-o.
My local mini dealer had a super rare edition of every model called the Westerly edition. They were standard coopers in Chili red with black badges, door handles, rally lights and every option going on them. The parts department did everything to them, even wrote Westerly edition on the black side stripes
I’d have to get the genuine piano black door handles on that as you’ve comfort access! Covers always make the handles look to chunky. Genuine black badges too 👍🏻
Great vid and agree the new look really sets the car off. We got a chili red 3 door cooper s last year and ordered black pack (headlight and rear light surrounds) from factory. Now going to do this to handles and badges. Hope the results are as good as this. Brilliant content. Thanks very much
I think that looks cracking Pete and such a simple fix. Ignore the haters, it is after all your car and your choice and taste. Great video as always. Take care & stay safe.
Hi pp I used Smps2012 for my clubvan for door handle covers badge covers and belt line kit! Been on 18 months and looks like the day i put them on! A bit of fishing line will sort out the clubman badge, worked for me!👍
Great video bro but I love the chrome on my r53 JCW mini and my e46 m3 and I do think it looks amazing 😉 on your car but that’s what makes the world such a great place we all have different taste
Door handles are looking great now! Personally I would buy the actual MINI black badges, but those still look good! Something to note about the drivers side door handle is that now with that cover on the handle, if your key battery runs low you will not be able to get in the car as you’ve covered the hole to open the manual key slot... you might want to replace the front door handles with actual MINI parts in the future but leave the others and save yourself a bit of money. I know that your clubman is almost brand new but just something to be aware of.
That looks cracking & such a simple solution. My cars not a mini & would like that look as mines got too much chrome & it’s really not my bag. Well done n the uploads thus far. Very much enjoying them. Carry on the good content 👍🏻
Hi Mr Ped,there is a Clubman specail works on autotrader with Black Door Handles but Chrome Barn doors, great idea stops door handles getting scratched by rings and things,I would get that specail plastic to protect the front of the car as well ,help resale in the future, car looks great.
10/10 Black trim is the best look, that's why we see more cars with it. Chrome is so dated, I hate it. Was nice in the 60/70/80's. 👍 Black trim should be standard and chrome should be the option. Only problem is that the car makers would make less money as no one (ok maybe 1 to 2 %) would spec chrome. True story.
Good Evening Pete , still some distance from home but have to catch your daily download. Totally love the look of the black handles and badge surrounds. Truly looks a quality product . Funny that when I got the Tiguan I added Chrome mirror caps and fog light surrounds to ease the ugliness. When you remove rear letters do you have some fishing line or trim tools to get them off. Remember park the back so it gets full sun to warm the adhesive , ease removal. Plus foam sticky residue remains , well nail varnish remover , rubbing alcohol , goo gone or WD40 all help get it off , whatever you have to hand I'm thinking. When I get my TOIL , I am tempted to film over black door spears with black carbon fibre . Subtle but I will know. Very little Seat/Cupra styling out there compared to Tig. Ok keep up the good work. P.S as a devote follower I don't expect a reply all the time. I think us lot aren't fickle. P
I really love the contrast look, so, given my mini is black...I'm keeping my Chrome high lights!! Charlie however looks so cool with the black highlights.... keep up the good work Dude!!
That looks way better indeed! I was skeptical about these 'click-on' covers but they work great as I can see! I still wouldn't put on click-on carbon covers just to make it look like you have more carbon on the car. If you swap parts for carbon, it should actually be to reduce weight in my opinion, even if it's just a tiny bit.
Love the reassuring click sound as they go on, really easy mods that make Callsign Charlie look great. As soon as this is all over me and the wife are going for a test drive in one.
what a snug fit! Im not going to lie I had my doubts when you said covers, but they seem to be on tight and fit like a glove! top product with a top review :)
Petrol Ped haha! Neither was I until I just had ago! The jobs start small and before you know it your knee deep in cutting holes and squeezing the trigger of a welder 😂
I ordered the door handles with your code, thank you. just have to wait very long. now already 3 weeks 🤷🏻♂️ hope they come soon. thanks for your video 👌🏻
Cracker of a video Pete. I love the 3D effect of the mini badges. Once this virus goes away, I’m expecting a ‘Ped drives Europe’s best driving roads’ trip and movie !! Cheers and take care mate. Matt from Australia 🇦🇺
That Pete was a very enjoyable 15 mins,, Handle / Badge kit ordered, I think they will look so good on mine too. Have a great Easter but of course,,,, STAY SAFE.
Well done. Much better look. Only installation detail missing was the cleaning of the door handle prior to applying the adhesive, for durability, but otherwise, simple and effective product.
Thing is, for me at least, is that Charlie will never look as good as Ruby. Because Ruby's black, and when you de-chromed the headlamp bezels, they disappeared, and that was what suddenly changed my mind about the new Mini! But even if you were to body colour them on a white car, they're still obvious. This is all just my taste, and, although it's perfect, those with poor taste will always disagree. 😉
Hey Petrol Ped I was thinkinig of doing the belt line but all the vinyl companies told me it's impossible to do it right (ok, I a a bit of perfectionist when it comes to my MINI Cooper 2019 so that's also why they didn't want to do it and I told them that I only want to do it if it will look perfect). The main problem is the rubber part that is connected to the chrome so it's impossible to put the wrap underneath the chrome as it touches the rubber...BUT I heard from guys at MINI that there will be a OEM black belt line (I think that after seeing how many MINI owners do it it will be a great move by MINI) so do you maybe have some info on that?

Mate this is amazing to hear. I have passed your feedback to Sam at smps2012 👍
I like all the chrome details on Minis and would never swap them for boring black, but thanks for your video anyway! 👍
Brilliant 👌👌👌👌👌
Nooooo..... No plastic lever / trim puller! Hairdryer and cotton thread works well, and no chance of damaging / denting body panel. 😃
(Just remember... not too hot & close with the hairdryer!)
Ordered mine for my Mini Countryman JCW. Changed the headlight surrounds and rear light cluster surrounds but these are far better as just clip on . Ordered belt line kit and the door handle covers. 😀😀
Great to hear 👍

Absolutely LOVE the black accents! Just a thought...there are black and white checkered mirror covers that Mini sells. I think you NEED those!
I love the red too much 👍
@@PetrolPed it is stunning...Mini has some of the most beautiful color combinations...just the right amount of kick
The handle covers look brilliant and surely more hard wearing than wraping them. Nice cars.

@@PetrolPed Not as exciting as hitting 100! Just checked & see the rehearsal paid off. Congradulations!

Fantastic! It's the subtle mods that make a massive impact for me. Love the dechrome look, was the first thing I did on my mini JCW too!
Excellent as ever Pete - The JCW Clubman is really coming on! - amazing how a few simple and well executed mods make such a difference! - Top Work Fella! - Look after yourself and stay safe bud!👍👍👍
And you mate 👍
Vast improvement with the black door handle covers, and the mini badges are too cool for skool!!
Just those little tweaks make a huge difference!! Job well done 👍
Absolutely love it. What a good solution. If the f57 in my life was mine I would fit but the Mrs doesn't seem to care so 🤷♂️. Keep up the good work 👍
Looking good. I run the caps on my mini. For your clubman badge use a little bit if heat and some dental floss behind the letters to remove them. Then something to remove the glue reside, wd40 works but I use a tar and glue remover
Had my doubts about having black handles but fair do’s... that looks great! That front badge is immense 👌🏾

Nice touch Mr Ped 👍🏻. Nice that they can all be removed to put it back to stock if required !! Looking good ole Charlie 💯😎🇨🇦
That is what I love about them 👍
Well Pete - gotta say I’m impressed with the effect and as a bonus it’s reversible! 👍😀
Yep 👍
I Have to agree they look good, and yes the 3M type tape is a #@#@! to get off, so now im even considering this for Ethel Clubman.
Another great video buddy and thanks Andrew 😊

Thanks Susan 👍
Such a simple and easy Mod. I think we can tell for some certainty how good you're at DIY. By the struggle to get the backing off the tape!

4 weeks to the gallon...love it 😂
Great results. I just wish the clip on handle covers where available for more cars. We've used them on the mini and it's a great product with an OEM finish. No need to replace the handles or spend mini/BMW money.
Exactly 👍
The black badge with the chrome MINI looks great. The black cover looks like it gives a little bit of volume to the badge, which is a nice touch.
It does 👍
Good decision on your end to dechrome, the Clubman looks awesome Pete.....thumbs up.
Good morning PP. Those are very neat covers. Ya can’t beat a satisfying click. Accentuates the cars colour.
Looks great! Wasn’t sure when you mentioned doing the handles, but it really works. Much more cohesive. Charlie’s looking good. The rear doors will look much cleaner without the lettering. Unbelievable what a big difference such small changes can make. So much nicer now. I’ll definitely be checking out that website 👍🏼

My local mini dealer had a super rare edition of every model called the Westerly edition.
They were standard coopers in Chili red with black badges, door handles, rally lights and every option going on them.
The parts department did everything to them, even wrote Westerly edition on the black side stripes
Nice. Not heard of those before 👍
I’d have to get the genuine piano black door handles on that as you’ve comfort access!

Great video as always. Take care & stay safe.
Not getting too many hater which is a surprise 😂
That looks really good Pete, keep the content coming 👍👍😷
The black side door handles really look the part, set off perfectly by the roof rails. Grand job.
Hi pp I used Smps2012 for my clubvan for door handle covers badge covers and belt line kit! Been on 18 months and looks like the day i put them on! A bit of fishing line will sort out the clubman badge, worked for me!👍
That is the plan 👍
The badges look great.I like the way the rear handles mirror the wipers.
Somthing so Simple can be so Affective at times they look a super good fit as well definitely transform the sides of the car
I have never had to do that yet and if I did the handle comes off quite easily 👍
Car looks much better dechromed. Can't wait for you to take the Clubman lettering off; knowing you it'll be with a hairdryer and a chisel...
Next Fridays vid 👍
I am the fence about dechroming. I like the look of the all black, but Mini did such a good job with that color mix that I love that look as well.
Brilliant idea Ped outstandingly easy & it looks braw! 👍🏻⭐️💚
That looks cracking & such a simple solution. My cars not a mini & would like that look as mines got too much chrome & it’s really not my bag. Well done n the uploads thus far. Very much enjoying them. Carry on the good content 👍🏻
Sam’s a great guy! He did my belt line for me on my clubby!!👍🏻
He is 👍
Great de-chroming...easy and backwards compatible
Looks awesome 😎
Charlie looks so much better Pete, awesome job

Great job Pete! Looks great! You know you could have used the tip of a Stanley knife to lift the backing off of the tape! Lol
What simple yet cool modifications
That looks way better indeed! I was skeptical about these 'click-on' covers but they work great as I can see! Thanks for these fun ideas as in lockdown we just stare outside at our little Mini with way too much Chrome
Just polished the chrome on my Clubman and it looks fab..
I am sure it does 👍👏
Love the reassuring click sound as they go on, really easy mods that make Callsign Charlie look great. As soon as this is all over me and the wife are going for a test drive in one.
Be prepared to buy one then 😜
Petrol Ped 😂😂😂👍🏻
Easy, Peesie , Lemon Squeezy 👍. Looks ace Peter. Keep ‘em coming.
Stay safe everyone.
They appear to be a good product; time will tell. I do quite like the look and i certainly like the ease of fitting.
It looks mega after the mods! 💯💯😍
what a snug fit! Im not going to lie I had my doubts when you said covers, but they seem to be on tight and fit like a glove! top product with a top review :)
Really pleased with the look. Not as mechanically minded as you 😜😂😂
Petrol Ped haha! Neither was I until I just had ago! The jobs start small and before you know it your knee deep in cutting holes and squeezing the trigger of a welder 😂
Hi Pete, car is looking good, however I would of given the door handles a wipe over with an alcohol wipe first, to get best contact.
Made sure they were clean before the cameras were turned on but didn't have any alcohol wipes 😜
I ordered the door handles with your code, thank you. just have to wait very long. now already 3 weeks 🤷🏻♂️
hope they come soon. thanks for your video 👌🏻
Hi Mike, can you please email us with your order number so we can check.

loving all these different videos,, your a natural!
Cheers Bud 👍
Excellent mod Pete. Starting to look really good now. 👍
Looks great.
I had my head set on an S4 Avant as a replacement for my S3 but this JCW clubman is really appealing 😎
We still have the S4 👍
Never thought I'd enjoy someone dechroming their Mini as much as I did today 😀 (not a Mini driver)
LOL 😂
Cracker of a video Pete. I love the 3D effect of the mini badges. Once this virus goes away, I’m expecting a ‘Ped drives Europe’s best driving roads’ trip and movie !! Cheers and take care mate. Matt from Australia 🇦🇺
Hell yeah 👍
That Pete was a very enjoyable 15 mins,, Handle / Badge kit ordered, I think they will look so good on mine too. Have a great Easter but of course,,,, STAY SAFE.
Awesome 👏
Well done. Much better look. Only installation detail missing was the cleaning of the door handle prior to applying the adhesive, for durability, but otherwise, simple and effective product.
Did that before I started filming 👍
Right thats me sorted on my F56 - BTW i have the Audi style sweep side repeaters. I'll upload to the tube later :)
Looks great, the de chroming really suits this car!!.
SMPS2012 is where i get my beltline and dechrome stuff from. current beltline has been on for 2 years and about to change the colour of it
Cool 😎
What a great piece of kit. Really look the business. Chrome has had its day.
Nice! Front fog lights exist with black surroundings too....
They look a quality product.. the car looks great, nice job 👍
The dechroming looks marvelous, looks like everybody got handy with it...lol
Really liking the daily vids, looks awesome on Charley Clubman
Thank you 🙏🏻
