- I have finally plucked up enough courage to give de-chroming a go ! I did a fair bit of asking round to make sure I had the technique and process sorted. A big thanks to my mate Ryan from RPM Valeting and Detailing (@rpmvdd) for the advice.

It has all come together beautifully Pete. Excellent job all round! I’m positive about all the things you’ve done to the car, Charlie looks awesome and the rear is transformed. Also, a ten out of ten for stretching out of your comfort zone and for not only undertaking the transformation yourself, but also for being brave enough to film and share your efforts with your following. I admire your bravery on the de-badge Petrol Ped. Totally agree with you on the back looking more clean. Not sure on the F54 stickers. If it was me,I would have put them below the indicators. But each to their own. 👍👍

baccattack I agree, you don’t need the mini badge....the jcw badge does all the talking you need. Just have the petrol ped badge on the left.
Agree, looks better without the badge. I would also remove the pp badge from the back then it will look fantastic.

Thank you, Petrol Ped, for this video. We just took delivery of our JCW Clubman. We never really liked the ALL4 emblem while looking at the different models. I was terrified to try and remove them but thanks to your video, it gave me the confidence and knowledge to do it. Thanks again, Petrol.

Always take your fantastic watch off, one slip and that metal band could scratch the paint👍 Always great making your MINI your own, nice wee touches, I remember when my friend swapped my indicators front and side from orange to clear. It was a cheap mod but once you walked back you thought “ Better” on my R56😁 The new F56 was factory ordered so just had to tick a box to get the same result.

I don't know if it would work with letter goo but the best thing I found for removing tar is petrol. A wee drop on a cloth and road tar just wipes off.
Well done that man,, cracking vid Pete and a job well done. Now I've de chromed the belt line, 'blacked the handles and badges, and having seen yours and how easy it is to do it, I think I'll de clubman mine tomorrow. British Racing Green, black roof and side 'stripe', black wheels as standard and with these 'mods' it's looking even better,,,,, role on tomorrow,,

The Clubman is one of the cars I'd definitely debadge (at least partially) if I were to get one. In-person the look is just much cleaner.

If you remove the PP from the back would they fit on the small panel underneath the side repeaters?

Great job Pete, how about slightly tinting the lower indicator cluster at the rear they don't look as nice as the ones above them and they could look really nice with a moderate tint?

I don't see how removing CLUBMAN and adding F54 is an improvement. Most non mini people would just think it's a numbered public utility car (gas co?)
Looks much better Pete. Much cleaner. I hadn’t particularly picked up on the 4 letters on one door, 3 on the other, but as you say, once you see it you can’t unsee it. I love the dechromed look. Looks OEM and perhaps they should offer it as an option. What do you say, MINI?

I've got Ali/Darkhorse's R55 stickers on mine, they look good on the side windows.
Might have a go at debadging my clubman after watching this. Ive always liked the badging on the back, but now you've mentioned how uneven it looks, I cant get past it! It does look super clean now without them. It'll make it easier to polish aswell😂 I spend ages trying to get the polish from around the lettering. Not so sure I'd have the f54 stickers personally, but I think it looks smart on silver!. nice job Ped👍👍

I love my F55, and had a suggestion for your “F54” stickers.. It would look very clean and blend better down low on your fenders, lined up with the JCW stripes. Just my two-cents! Also, I very much enjoy the look of the Cooper S six-door. Take care for now!
Think the labels should have gone directly above the johncooperworks badges, just my opinion and I did not realise the letters came off so easy!! Well done more than what I would have done!!

If you suffer from OCD this is a brilliant opportunity for your mates. Remove the word and put back crooked, different vertical position and the odd letter in a bigger font. Done well it looks fine and you can watch others in pain when they look at it. Tormenting people with OCD is not just fun but actually good for them.

I get your reasoning and I hope that it doesn't drive me nutty now that you mentioned it....because I rather like the badging and my new mini comes with the black lettering. My first clubman (The Green Machine) has the chrome letters. And now I have to come up with a new name for mini#2 since it's not green!

Yours went really well and that's probably to do with the car being so new because the adhesive is still relatively pliant. I've seen other videos on older cars where it's actually pulled the paint off with it.

Can't argue with the de-CLUBMAN badge work. Looks loads better. But I'm not sure about the placing of the F54 stickers. I'd probably have gone for below the side repeaters. Still, that's filled 17 minutes and 19 seconds of lockdown! Thanks.

Definitely a great idea to do to a clubman or anything with the words on the back. It seems like some have larger letters that are even more un appealing.

It does look good and was relatively easy if not heart-stopping to watch. I am agonising over fitting my NHS Hero stickers in case I do it wrong, so well done and keep up the good work.

Thought perhaps Petrol Ped logo could be alot smaller as to not dominate the Mini Badge....its actually a well designed logo. 😁
