    Very nice review and love the subtle mods. That is a great color! I just bought a 2002 4runner and I'm in need of a paint job. Thanks.

    I have a 2000 Gen 3. 5 speed manual trans. SR 5. Bought in 2003 with 13K miles. Now 228K miles. No issues except replacing the rear hatch struts.
    The originals wore out about 200K. I bought cheap replacements, garbage.. don't waste your money.
    I ordered originals , should be here today.
    Good video.
    From Jacksonville, Or.

    Beautiful truck brotha! Just got my wife a new trd off-road in lunar rock.
    Quick question, I want one of these down the road, but are the frames on these trucks cheap? Ik they’re prone to rust, but don’t know if they’re all like that or just the ones from the rust belt.

      You are correct in that the frames on the 3rd gen 4runners/1st gen tacomas will rust quick with salt esp in the rust belt states but properly maintained you shouldnt have any issues. Aside from the frame another consideration is whether you want to deal with rusty bolts on all of the drivetrain/suspension components. My suggestion is to find one on the west coast, do the proper maintenance & enjoy it

      I have 200k on my 2001 and there's no rust whatsoever underneath. I am in Florida and only buy cars from the southeast.

      Isn’t any frame prone to rust?

      @da324 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@staydirty Yea, but they rust much faster if you live where they throw salt on the roads in the winter.

    What’s the mileage on it now? Are you close to 300k?

    How much was the paint job if you don’t mind me asking? Have imperial jade paint

    Hi did u tell any difference between the 265 75 16vs 285 70 17 when driving or performance wise?

    • @upperleftnorthwest4278
      @upperleftnorthwest4278  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is a noticeable difference. The 265s are closer to stock size so it doesnt feel as sluggish with accelerating as before.

    It that paint job the factory toyota army green or a custom color?

    • @upperleftnorthwest4278
      @upperleftnorthwest4278  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Factory toyota army green. 6V7 paint code. My understanding is that there are subtle differences between the army green that came on the FJ, then the 4runners & now tacomas/tundras

      @miketoti144 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@upperleftnorthwest4278 I believe you're correct. It looks like a lighter shade than what I've seen on the newer 4runners and Tacomas so I was curious, might just be the lighting

      Nice rig. I’m at 240k with my 3rd Gen. Spiker Engineering makes front hood struts and struts for the rear hatch. You should ceramic coat that paint job.

      @@courageous78 thanks ill have to take a look at the front hood struts. Im planning on doing a paint correction & ceramic coating once the weather gets better here in the PNW
