Rig looks great! I may pursue the same suspension kit you used. What tire size were your previous tires? I'm thinking about doing the AT 265/75/16 to fill in gap space a bit better with the 2.5 inch lift.
HI! Thanks for the knowledge. Was wondering if You know if the stock 3rd gen springs will work on the 5100s. Trying to not spend a ton of money doing this job and would prefer if I could keep the old springs. Thanks bro😅.
Yes they will! The 5100’s have a few different notches for the spring perch to lift the truck when using stock springs. You can also just run the stock springs with the perch in the bottom most position to maintain factory ride height.
Nice work! I had a mechanic install mine, but I just added a 5100 880/906 setup to my truck along with SPC rear lower control arms. Amazing how much better the ride is isn't it?
Looks great! I had a catastrophic LBJ failure in my '01 last week and am rebuilding the suspension using Timmy's vids. So does the differential drop allow you to use standard CV axles and not do the inner boot mod that Timmy did?
How much did this cost you? All I have is a rwd limited edition year 2000 4 Runner I want to lift it so I’m just gonna get all train tires to put on it. I don’t know what else to do. I need to save up the money for my truck.
I spent like $1700 but it can definitely be done a lot cheaper. I bought a lot of supporting mods and stuff. You could definitely just do shocks and springs though.
Looks great dude! About how much did the project cost you in parts? I'm on the fence about doin that with my 02 4runner, or an engine replacement. I'm almost at 300k miles now :)
Did you do adjust your panhard bar/track bar? I was given horrible service and chastised at a local offroad shop for not addressing the increased angle of my panhard bar in x way, perhaps rightfully so, but whatever. I'm in an '02 on 31"s, with F+R Bilstein 5100, Front stock coilovers (I assume), Rear OME 891. It's wiggling plenty back there and everything feels off. Plan is in motion to replace what's necessary in order. Starting with panhard correction. How yours sitting?
Panhard correction makes a big difference. I haven’t done it on mine yet but I’m planning on doing the eimkeith kit. We did it on my roommates sequoia after his lift and it feels much better. No more wiggle.
Just curious how much of a difference did you see it mpg? I just got a 97 and am considering doing something very similar to yours strictly for cosmetic reasons lol. Enjoyed the video!
I haven't checked mpg yet and I'm kind of scared to lol. To be fair it's not like it was amazing to begin with though, think I was getting around 16-18 haha.
@@AlexPerrucci haha yeah that’s the only thing that would keep me from lifting it. You are right tho it’s not great to begin with. I see the 404 number. North GA represent💪
@@Kyle-hf8dq Run a 255/85/16. It's a 33" tire without the massive heft of the wide 265 or 285s. That's my plan. I'm not doing any crazy off-roading. Just soft-roading or dare I say overland. lol
perfect looking 3rd gen
Thanks!
We have the exact same tastes in cars. Miata’s and 3rd gen 4runner. Twinning. Keep up the great content! Cheers!
Haha yes, great combo! Thanks!
The lowers were definitely a beast to do, got it done though!
Great video, thank you so much!!! I’ve been having that front pop as well on turns and bumps and have been trying to pin-point it. So helpful 😊
Thanks! Glad this was helpful.
Nice looking 3rd gen!
Thanks!
Thanks VERY MUCH GUY.
Looks awesome. I have a stock 2000 limited with 270k and need to do this
Absolute beauty
Thanks!
I see that tail of the dragon shirt, you from the north ga area??

@@AlexPerrucci thank you for the quick reply and beautiful rig you got too btw!

Why yours looks taller than others that I have seen here on YT? the tires?
Nice work! I had a mechanic install mine, but I just added a 5100 880/906 setup to my truck along with SPC rear lower control arms. Amazing how much better the ride is isn't it?
Night and day difference!
I also have the 880/906 combo and the lift is perfect. Enough height to add bigger tires but keeps that reletively stock look
How are the rear SPC lowers holding up? Did you notice much of a difference with them?
Great job! Awesome to see going to OME/Bilstein route instead of some of the other cheaper options.
Also shout out for the DGD shirt 🤘🏻
Anyone know results , Bilstein Vs King
Looks great! I had a catastrophic LBJ failure in my '01 last week and am rebuilding the suspension using Timmy's vids. So does the differential drop allow you to use standard CV axles and not do the inner boot mod that Timmy did?
Yes, though I recently watched a video and am of the opinion that a diff drop isn't really necessary unless you're lifting higher than 3+ inches.

Love mean Yoters nicely done
Thank you!
What’s your opinion on 285/75/17? With a 3in lift
Would be a solid setup! 👍🏼
How are the SPC X Axis bushings holding out? any clunking as yet?
No clunking for me. Would probably go with a different brand UCA tho.
Hi Alex, What size are your tires. It looks good. Also any rubbing before lifting?
Thanks! They are 285/75/16. Before the lift I had 265/75/16, so no rub. The bigger ones definitely would have rubbed without the lift.
@@AlexPerrucci Thank you!
@@AlexPerrucci are they c or e rated? I cant seem to find any 285/75/16 in c anywhere.

Thanks! Probably about $1700 in parts. Love the way it rides now!
My 98 got 330k Miles and still goes, I'd drive until she says no more 😅😂
Really considering this for mine. But I really don’t want to have to regear it for 33’s. How’s it cruise on the freeway?
Cruises just fine! You don't need to re-gear for 33's imo.
Would you provide me details of the SPC upper control arms so i order mine.
SPC 25460 are the part number for the 3rd gen 4Runner.
Can you get away from installing a upper control arm with a lift?
Yeah definitely. A lot of people get away with using stock upper arms still.

@@AlexPerrucci does not doing this cause any kind of mechanical exasperation? Or is it more just ride quality and safety

You running wheel spacers? I just got a 97 sr5 and it has wheel spacers on stock wheels.
Yes. I ran 1.5" spacers on the stock wheels. Now rocking 1" spacers on my 16x8 +0 KMC wheels.
Thanks for the quick reply
