    Only in a Toyota you could feel safe traveling across the country with over 300k miles.

    it’s crazy how confident you are with 330k miles on it lol. Then again i drove mine on 226k from Ca-tx lol

      Well, the body has 332k currently since I just looked at my cluster haha but I’ve done a lot of work over the past 4-5 years of ownership that ensures the reliability, and it’s a Toyota 🙌🏼

    February 18th 2022, 3:30am watching this scenic and calming expedition video.
    Am in Georgia next door to AL and very soon I plan on overlanding at MT Whitney with my 3rd Gen.
    IN GOD I TRUST.
    Looks very therapeutic and healthy particularly now when the world has become crazy.
    God bless you out there Bro, we live vicariously through you - 🙏

    genius idea to replace the passenger seats headrest with a fan! is it DIY it looks bought?!

    • @hikerxplore
      @hikerxplore  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wanted a fan to circulate air while I slept and keep me cool during the summer but didn’t have space nor want a tiny fan. Removed the headrest and bought a couple large 6-8in bolts, drilled two holes in the base of a Walmart fan and slid the bolts through, plugged into my inverter would run all night no problems.

    Hey, am curious, with the aftermarket bumper and big wheels what's your Gas Mileage MPG?

    • @hikerxplore
      @hikerxplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s very low, like 6-8 miles mpg if I’m lucky, with the weight and gearing it revs higher than stock, but its gotten me around! 🤙🏽

      @@hikerxplore I have a 99 4Runner 5-Speed Highlander. With 265s BF AT2s,, I get about 18-20 mpg. The gas tank on my 4Runners has me filling up every 200 miles for safety. If you're running a stock gas tank, that's cutting it tight with that mileage. Did you add a bigger tank?

    • @hikerxplore
      @hikerxplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2005CessnaPilot I didn’t add any extra fuel actually, though it would have been awesome to have one. There is the Ford F-150 gas tank conversion I’ve seen done, or spend a few grand on the long range America auxiliary tank that mounts where the spare goes. I had planned to eventually do an auxiliary tank of sorts but never did. I just made it a priority to fill up all the time as I only could drive barely 200 miles on a tank, just takes planning.

    hey man, in most of your overlanding, etc, how often do you use 4wd? can most of this be done with 2wd? in terms of overlanding every now and then.

    • @hikerxplore
      @hikerxplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just depends on what time of year you plan to hit the areas I traveled. If during the winter you’ll need 4wheel drive for a lot of the deep middle of no where spots, but generally if you stay away from snow and mud you’ll be fine with 2wd. Some of my videos are in snow and I would have never made it to a lot of places without having 4x4, even having a rear locker won’t get you through deep snow and such. I had front/ rear lockers and still had issues with some spots in Utah, Colorado, and Nevada. Just stay on the paved snow plowed roads as much as possible. During the summer 2wd will get you most places.
