  • We show the cold and dark procedure for the X-Crafts ERJ Family. During this demonstration we also go through proper loading of the Tekton FMS on a trip from Indianapolis to Houston. Our Simbrief is adjusted to P17 for fuel.

    How do you adjust the trim in this aircraft? I keep looking for it in or around the pedestal. So used to the B738 wheel.

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll have to get back to you on that. We have buttons on the joystick configured, but IIRC the indicator is on the central “EICAS/ECAM” screen.

      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @kreemerz, lift the Captains right arm rest. The trim is on the pedestal, left side, near the pressurization setting. Indicator is bottom right of EICAS.

    hi! thanks for the tutorial. but next time can you pop out the FMS and drag it so it's much bigger? it's very small in this video and hard to see. not sure why you clicked on the FMS for VR instead of the actual popout?

      Daniel L sorry about that, the other Flight Bro has made a similar suggestion and I’m trying to do better with more recent videos.

    I have no gauge showing up in my x-craft embraer erj planes .Have any idea why this happening or can you help me fix this?

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not. I would recommend removing the aircraft and try fresh download and install. If this doesn't work look to the X-Plane.org forums, X-Crafts are active on there as well.

    Do you have a link to the checklist you printed, by chance? I would rather have one in front of me as opposed to using the one on screen since it covers up most of the stuff I am trying to find.

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      XLIX it’s actually the same checklist from the sim, just screen grabbed and printed.

      @@FlightBrothersFT Thanks, makes sense. I will do the same, never even thought of that.

    How did you decide the Payload weight, Fuel weight and MAC%? Thanks!

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      divinglyc I use whatever Simbrief spits out most time. It’s set at 230lb per person (180 + 50 bag). So the payload is that, times the number of pax plus any cargo, which this flight did not have. Fuel weight was also a Simbrief computation, plus I carry 5% contingency and 1 hour reserve. The MAC I left as is and don’t change. I’ll change on the other aircraft as they update the MAC based on load (FF757 for example). I have found in cruise these use about 3400pph total.

    About the fuel, could it be that your simbrief gave you kilograms, and the FMS is in pounds, or vice versa?

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a fair point. So I looked into it and my default values are 5% contingency and 60 minute reserve fuel. My dispatcher remarks were: WARNING: FLIGHT TIME EXCEEDS AIRCRAFT RANGE PAYLOAD/CARGO LIMITED BY MTOW. The BLOCK FUEL level was correct at 11345, but my EXTRA shows -23. I guess the 23lbs exceeded GTOW and gave me the alert.

      @@FlightBrothersFT Or it could be that, yeah! On another topic, just bought it, but still need to do a flight, do you know if we can use company routes, and where and in what format does it need to be, and how does one load it inside the FMS? Thnx!

      Bubib5 take a look at 3.1.1 in the Tekton FMS manual. I haven’t done it yet, as I enter manually each time, looks like it should access it if in the XPlane/output/flight plans directory. Hope that helps.

    What I want to know on this plane, if you can do a video on it again sometime, is if I am given a different waypoint as direct, how to go to that direct waypoint.. I've had issues before where I try to make a waypoint direct, it jumps like a waypoint or 2.. Say your on waypoint above the one you want, ATC gives you a waypoint below, I go to direct that waypoint but instead of just making that 1 waypoint direct, on mine it skips down a waypoint. So how to actually set direct a different waypoint when given a different waypoint than the one your on ?

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll have to do some research on that and get back to you. It’s not as intuitive as a “standard” FMC

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t had the chance to sit down in sim and mess with this yet. Upon thinking about it, I think if you are on an active waypoint, the only way is to use the down arrow to select the waypoint you desire. If it won’t go to active, you may have to fly to it via heading mode. If you don’t want to wait, I would suggest getting in the FMS manual to find it. If you are unable to resolve your issue, go to the XPlane.org forum for the ERJ and look up Steve Wilson. He is the architect for the Tekton FMS and he’s pretty good about responding quickly to get you back in the air.

    I have a question when i installed mine the fms doesn’t work

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zachary McPencow if you’re are referencing the Tekton FMS, it is included but not installed by default. Reference the manual. It’s in a folder within the aircraft and must be moved to function. By default, the default XP11 FMS is installed.

      Flight Brothers FT I just need to learn how to program the fms now!

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zachary McPencow make sure to follow the manual. Steve has made improvements in the system over time, but at release the data entry doesn’t follow more traditional “flow”. We may have to do a flight with it again just to see what has changed. I must admit, the last flight I had with it was in the Legacy around September of 19.

    Sorry, but unfortunately the volume setting for the external / internal sound created by the aircraft system is set much too high compared to the much too low microphone volume setting. I had to give up on the video.

    Enjoyed the demonstration but as the video progressed you voice was getting lower and lower. Very difficult to hear and understand what you were saying.

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joseph Correia thanks for the feedback. I did notice this aircraft was “louder” at my normal recording settings. Breaks for real life during the flight often result in the microphone not being in the same spot, I believe that’s what was happening 😔. Sorry about that.
