- How to install a GM van column in a c10 or GMC 60-72. We’ve all heard that it can be done, but what do you need to do in order to pull it off? The 60-68 columns definitely require more parts, the 69-72 columns require you to reuse some of the original stuff. Let me walk you through it
Finally! I've been waiting for this one!!
Well the wait is almost over!!! Let’s Gooo!
It's starting!!
Looks great!!
Thanks!! It was worth the extra work!!
Can’t wait!
It’s gonna be a gooder
That looked pretty easy from my comfy seat, nice job.
Hahaha yep, was as easy as it looked and well worth the effort
Better than paying 1300 for a shorty new
@@sugarskulllyfe5890 100% agree
I watched this in order to not cut the gasket and metal flange and he cuts the flange and gasket ugh!
@@JacobLAChristenson hahaha yep I did, the cut is pretty much invisible once installed and I build them to drive, not show so it worked for me. I suppose you could remove the steering shaft itself and gain access to removing it if it means that much to you though
Did you know that the Chevy van steering wheel was often used as a makeshift drum kit by musicians on the road? Its sturdy construction and ample surface area made it perfect for tapping out rhythms while waiting for the next gig or passing the time during long drives. So, in a way, it’s not just for steering-it’s also for making music!
The more you know 🌈
I've never known steering wheels could tilt that's pretty cool. looks amazing and easy if you have a blowtorch XD but great work
Thanks!! It came together well and looks and feels great!!
Body is looking straight as an arrow
We’ll find out soon enough!!
Much better look!
Thanks!! Has a great feel too!
Looking good.
Thank you! Cheers!
Lets gooo!
Almost there!!
hi, great video. i do alot of the work by myself and worry about tackling on my own. this gives me more confidence! one question i have, i didnt see what you did with regards to the neutral safety switch. my current one(unknown) doesnt have one on the column, so it starts in all gears & no reverse lights. thats why im changing it. is it located somewhere else in the new column?
Located in the same spot, the van one just didn’t have one on it at the time of the swap, it was damaged. I ordered a new one in for the van and used the van wiring clips to install it. Works perfectly.
@@shortcutgarage great to hear. now comes the problem of finding a column...especially for $50!! LOL keep up the great videos!...Mac
Best of luck to you, I promise, they are out there!
Lubbi dubbi!! Whoop whoop 🙌
No Diddy!!
They say it’s another name for WD40, who would have known?!
