    wonderful! I sent the same watch into Citizen for a service. It came back fully working and they only charged £60. However, I suspect that they probably just swapped out the movement and threw the old one away. Lovely to see the love, attention, and time given to restore this beautiful old watch.

    some say you need to let the presure out of the cilinder with the watch case still in the water. only then you can say if bubles coming out or not is a sing of water tight. also test the case only before encolsing the movment within it. if anything goes wrong, the movment dial and hands are still dry and all you need is to sort out a case.

    • @wristwatchobsession5585
      @wristwatchobsession5585  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The watch was submerged! Don’t understand what you mean. But for sure it was not a joke it was a test.

    • @kevinbeckett2181
      @kevinbeckett2181 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      2 methods. 1 have it in the water and pump the pressure up. If it fills up its leaking (and damaged)
      2 you have it above the water, pump up the pressure (if there are any leaks, the air pressure in the watch will go up) then lower it in the water and release the pressure valve. If there was a leak then this will show as bubbles from the effected area as the pressure in the tank becomes normal and the watch equalises with the outside pressure. This way when you find a leak, you can lift it up quick to save the watch.

    • @peterchang7646

    Hallo,
    erst einmal meinen Dank an Dich für Deine tollen Videos!
    Aber eine Frage habe ich zu diesem Video hier:
    Ziemlich am Ende des Videos machst Du einen Drucktest auf Wasserdichtigkeit mit der restaurierten Uhr.
    Du baust Druck im Tester auf, senkst die Uhr in das Wasser ab, schreibst dann "No Bubble, No Trouble", hebst die Uhr wieder aus dem Wasser heraus und lässt (der Tonspur zufolge) DANN den Druck ab.
    Müsstest Du nicht den Druck langsam ablassen _solange die Uhr noch unter Wasser ist_, um zu schauen ob DABEI (beim Ablassen des Drucks) Blasen aufsteigen?
    Sie bei erhöhtem Aussendruck einfach einmal die Uhr einzutauchen und wieder herauszuholen sagt ja nichts aus…
