      If Buffaloes were intelligent it wouldn't matter if 20 lions attack them. Such a large herd can destroy any pride of lions but they're dumb and start running.

      @@apathak34 Buffalos are far from dumb. They have complex herd structures where the young are always protected, they exhibit a form of democracy where the herd will decide in what direction to travel through a complex series of movements. They also will come to aid of falling herd members something very animal’s do.

      Lions rely a lot on smell. Cars with their petrol or diesel engines smell so bad, they mask the smell of live animals - us. Importantly, they see the car as a single entity. Try to expose a major part of yourself out of the car and you will see what may happen.....

      No offense, but the lions aren't as dumb as your comment. They know adult humans in vehicles are dangerous. Luckily for the safari companies, the lions have also learned that if they ignore the humans, they won't be shot dead. They can still focus on their natural prey.

      Buffalo are far from dumb. They run away so they can regroup the herd at place the old and young in the middle of the herd. They also will come to the aid of fallen herd members which is something not a lot of animals do. They also exhibit altruism when deciding what direction travel ect. The buffalo will sit in the direction they want to travel and what ever direction the most buffalo are facing that’s the way they will go.

      lol, there's no bullying. They're just eating their food when they hunt buffalo. It's interesting to see buffalo show some bravery for once. Usually with just a couple of lions after them, they turn and run, sometimes even running ahead of their calves so they can get caught.

      This isn't bullies and victims. This is predator and prey. Buffaloes eat grass and grains. Lions eat buffaloes, when they can. Both have leaned not to mess with adult humans in vehicles. Bullies are cruel. Predators are just hungry.

    From Kenya..land of the big five wildlife...Once the buffalo herd realises they have power in numbers and do not have to stampede and run ..this will completely change how lions hunt

    Lovely footage, those lions are clearly inexperienced and only toying with the herd. At least they succeeded in causing a brief stampede, an essential tactic in a real hunt.

      Cape Buffalo occasionally kill and stampede lions, entire prides. Sometimes they get so ticked off that they trample lion cubs while the adult lions scatter. They could do that every time, but they're just like people, too cowardly to band together and defend themselves.

    Somehow Wildebeests seem completely different, as I have seen on these videos (at a waterhole) if a crocodile grabs one wildebeest, the others just stand there as if to say " Duhhh, just glad it wasn't me!" when just a little horning in could have done so much to save their brother or sister. Are cape buffalo smarter?

    THE LEGENDARY LION COURAGE STARTS AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. Two young lions one male and one female attack a big buffalo herd by themselves. Contrary to tigers, Lions do regularly frontal attacks. All lions learn to hunt inside a pride, in duo and as a single hunter. In this case it was juvenile male and female duo.

    I know it sorta helps with conservation efforts but always seeing loads of vehicles just isnt natural always wondered if there will ever be a day again when there will be a generation of animals that dont have to see that as well

    Water Buffalo just aren’t that afraid of too many things in the seringette (?). They will charge anything that they don’t like. Including big guns that humans carry, they are the brave bunch.

      I assume this is intended as a pro-hunting comment? Extremely weak! Lions hunting for food is part of nature, men hunting with guns for trophies isn't.
      Lions hunting human hunters who don't have guns - now that might make a worthy subject for photography. Just a thought.
