The Purple Bloom bird eater what a striking looking spider this is, the males really do stand out compared to their drab looking females, to we pair ours and what an interesting pairing it was with very little communication between them , but success in the end one more pairing and fingers crossed for a viable sac .

That's a life lesson and a half. If You don't communicate you might find yourself in a strange burrow caught up in some webbing. Glad he survived and that was quite different compared to the last pairing. Well done.

@@noahroy7145 I saw someone call him “Cockney David Attenborough” once, and quite liked that, though I am a Yank, and I don’t know enough about the details of a Cockney accent, vs the one DA has (which I was told once is “the Queen’s English”, or Westminster, idk if that’s right). All I know is I like it better than DA’s, especially for this content, and anyway their his spiders, so it’s more “authentic”, for lack a better term.

I had trouble watching and breathing at the same time, that view of him using his hooks was amazing, when he was still under her and her front legs were over the top of him it was too much... then her stalking him was me at my limit and when she sprang out after him I dropped my phone... Again... I'm going to need phone insurance if I'm gonna keep watching your videos Dave...

This species displays a bit of dichotomy between the sexes. Really striking coloration on the male. Surprised how quick she was. Glad he survived that.

What a terrific video! Wow! That girl I is black as night, but I wouldn't call her drab! And the male... Handsome chap indeed. It was beautiful how quickly he remembered to start tapping and waving as soon as there was a potential threat! He's not stupid, for sure! Hoping for a huge sac from this lovely couple! 😘💕
These large spiders are known to eat vertabres. perhaps feeding something EXTRA big or fatty before producing a sac might help.
Oh man dave don't change a thing. You are by far my favorite youtuber. Between you and tarantula kat my deathly fear of spiders and tarantulas has decreased significantly. I still respect them and leave them alone but now if I catch them in the house I take them out into the garden or my apple trees. Also tell the Camera lady another job well done.

Great Video Dave, Despite your issues with the reflections imo this is the best video yet, Stunning camera work even though you were working pretty much in the dark lol, The female new once the deed was done she slowly moved her front legs to behind his abdomen to stop him legging it, But at that instant he also new and started backing out ready to hot foot it out of there !!, Loved it and superb work and camera lady needs an Oscar for that work 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Y’all did an amazing job getting the pairing on video in such a difficult situation. This seemed to be a much smaller enclosure than you usually breed the big spiders in. Fingers crossed there babies in the future. I am wondering about the urticating hair on these spiders. I am assuming they are a new world spider. Anyway, loved, loved, loved you video! I love these pairing videos they are so compelling! Much better than Nat Geo docs cuz Dave gives us details on what is happening that you never get in TV documentaries, plus its so personal, Dave's enthusiasm is contagious! I never knew I wanted to know so much about spider courtship!

It’s amazes me how delicately and precisely they can move their legs.
That was awesome. I initially thought the male was her meal but later the explanation clarified the doubt. Please use another camera to get that escape show captured.
That was great footage! T'was so intense immediately following the money shot when she lowered her massive frame right down on top of him. A real nail-biter! So relieved and happy that he got away!

He was a brave and smart chap, well done 😊 Dave, or camera lady 😅 the lesser colour on the recording camera, could be a Chroma subsampling, and/or video format setting. My guess would be, it's recording in 4:2:0 (the standard on many a cam and video formats).
If you have the option, to increase it to 4:2:2 or 4:4:4, it should pick up more colour detail.

Hi Dave He was a handsome male. She was a big girl, and did not make it easy for him. But the little guy got the pairing done. I thought that she was going to catch him for a snack. Good paint brush rescue. I bet that once they were both on the table, she lost interest in chasing him. I am glad that you used the light, it was hard to see in her burrow. Goliath bird eaters are beautiful but man these particular species is known well for the fantastic pattern and coloration. The speed of these giants holds well for there ferocity.

I have often been put off these because being "pet" owner any males I may get will be sent off packing- so not worth getting pretty boys! However the female is quite attractive in her own right.
Lol she really seemed to enjoying toying with him and making it difficult- he had a lucky escape!

I noticed that the male maintain contact after she first started pursuing him up the enclosure. I’m not really a spider person I never liked them at all until I started watching your videos and the pairings and all the beautiful colors on them. My favorite is the spider can’t remember the name right now but has the fluorescent blue feet stands up it’s like they almost mesmerizing their prey with those colors. Thanks for the videos very entertaining

The first time i saw the Pamphobeteus right off the bat i thought about Prince's song ''Purple Rain'' lol really an extraordinairy colour on a really bautiful dude ..every time i see a male going under a biger female i hold my breath 😯 every single time it's hard for us stay calm i imagine for you it's nerve racking lol .. the male is so soooo brave ..... and sooo cool to watch thanks Dave super vid despite the reflexion near the end we see his true color And a usual i learn something knew. They are stuning so i'm wishing for a big egg sac
