- Reviewing the top 15 best smartwatches of 2023 to suit any budget, focusing on Wear OS and Android users rather than Apple. From Samsung's Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and the Ticwatch Pro 5 to Google's Pixel Watch 2, here's my favourite smartwatches for fitness tracking, battery life and more.
The Ticwatch Pro 5 is still one of the greatest Wear OS options for longevity thanks to the clever dual display design. For a similar price you can get the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, or Google's Pixel Watch 2 which is fresh out.
Samsung is another of my favourite options for Wear OS. The old Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is still a banger and now for less cash. Else, the fresher Galaxy Watch 6 & 6 Classic are excellent, in every area except for battery life. Full vs comparison and Classic review are live now!
If you have a ridiculous amount of cash you might prefer the Huawei Watch Ultimate, which is a sleek and super-tough outdoor/diving smartwatch. For less cash, try the diverse selection of GT 4 wrist rockets - in two sizes and many designs.
What's your own favourite smartwatch as we near 2024? Let us know below!

do you have any plans to test the Amazfit Balance? Really interested in copping that one.
Hey Chris, thanks for all your great vids.
I'm wondering if you have a more or less exhaustive list of which watches that support qi wireless charging? The ability is somewhat high on my wish list since carrying around that extra dedicated charger (for my galaxy watch 4) is getting annoying.
great video, any watch with cellular data being top priotity, meaning I can put a sim in it ? or operate it within being connected to a phone
Great video! Could you do one about the best earbuds
Bought the amazfit gts2 mini to tru out after a couple of huwai & redmi fitness trackers and am quite impressed for £50, as you can see i am quite tight so which one is the billy bargain?
This guy is a riot!! Loved his quips as much as the review.. maybe even more!
Make a comparison of the Ticwatch Pro 5 against the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro and the Amazfit balance and after that, which one do you think is the best for the price, thank you
Great review. Was expecting to see Garmin Venu series in the lineup
Hi, thank for the vids. Which of these Android smartwatch has build in cams, G4/LTE standalone or dual calling and NFC for payments?
None have cams that’s all I know
This was informative and very entertaining to watch!
Love your straight talking review style!
Are you going to do a review on the Amazfit Balance? I've been hovering over the "BUY"button for a GTR 4 for a while now, and then the Balance appears, seems similar, better screen.
Great review as usual. However if you need a watch with good reliable sensors, u need to verify the accuracy of the sensors with the quantified scientist!
I've worked my way through about 5 smart watches over the years and settled on a Skagen Jorn Hybrid. The e-ink display and mechanical hands are giving me 4 weeks of battery per charge. I can actually use sleep tracking instead of charging every night!
As a fellow bixby hater, it is possible to change it to google assistant on Samsung Watches now (at least I can on my Watch 4 so assume its forwards compatible). Just worth mentioning if that's a deciding factor.
I thought it was disingenuous of him to mention and critique Bixby without adding that Google assistant is also available as an alternative.
hey guys, I' m looking for a smartwatch with a huge rectangular screen and hi specs, like the lokmat appllp max or the lemfo lem t. Any suggestions?
I have switched to Garmin Venu 3 and enjoying it! Not charging everyday is da bomb
Can you make a video like this focusing on the health aspect of these watches. I'm trying to find a watch for my mother that can monitor all the health things including SOS (fall detection). Unfortunately for her though all of these look huge for her. And this video doesn't cover all the health monitoring these do. Thanks for your time.
I'd love a review of the new CMF (by Nothing) Watch Pro and the cheaper Amazfit! Cheers mate
So strange, I checked your page earlier today to see if you had made one of these vids!
looking for a review on the Kospet Tank T2
Do u perfe xiaomi watch 2 pro or huawei watch gt 4
what you think about the amazfit balance?
After watching quite a few of your videos on smart watches, I have to ask a question which I'm pretty sure hasn't yet been addressed and that is RANGE! Please could you do some reviews on BLUETOOTH RANGE. I have a very limited budget and am not allowed my phone on the shop floor at work and so need a smart watch that doesn't cost more than my phone, which is an old Huawei P20, to receive notifications and messages. No one seems to cover this aspect of smart watches at all as far as I can see.🤷 For me, this will be it's main function, otherwise it's just a toy on your wrist. Hope you can help.
Nice vib on these older chip sets watch but I have noticed that alot of luxury companies have not embraced the new w5 chips.
Verry happy with my Garmin ForeRunner 965. It's an upgrade from my Venu2 and the combination of the 2 helped me to lose 13 kg and increase my VO2 max from a horrible 34 to 45.
Would have helped to show the name of the watches on screen and give their links on Amazon. etc.
Do any of these have an actual sim card slot ?
Do these come with cellular compatibility
I have a Samsung Galaxy watch 4 and a Versa 3 but i got a Huawei GT3 on sale the other day and its way better than both of them and its my daily driver now .
one can choose bixby or google assistant on galaxy watches. please give correct information
Do Amazfit gts/r 4 and Huawei 4 has NFC???
I'm using the ticwatch pro 5. It's great
Nice review.
Love my Apple Watch 6 which I use with my android phone (updates etc using my iPad). Any other smartwatch I’d consider needs to be closer to a week’s battery life, for example the excellent Garmin Venu sq2 (if you turn off AOD). But apart from that my cheap Amazfit with 11 day battery is life great. And it has haptic alarms and countdowns and decent health features. Similarly the Xiaomi smart band 8 with its boxing mode (shame there’s no nfc). The Amazfit Balance is nice (shame it’s not compatible with previous Amazfit chargers and it seems a bit iffy at times for sensor accuracy compared to the likes of Gemini. And at the price I’d want more functionality from the Balance.
I have the Watch 6 Classic and I really like all the features (especially the rotating bezel)
How long does the battery last for casual usage
@@mohdsyahiran41 2 - 3 days for me, which is pretty good for my personal needs
I have the galaxy watch 4 classic and i just got a new strap for it and i love it. I'm getting about 3 days off battery. Not bad
What about when comes to the difference in sizes in men’s wrists??
I just recently picked up a Garmin venu 3 and i have always had an apple watch and i have to say I absolutely love this watch. The Apple watch has always been uncomfortable to wear, especially while sleep tracking and you have to charge it every single day. With this new Garmin watch,I can wear it for 8-10 days and not have to charge it
What about the sensor accuracy? Saw on The Quantified Scientist it’s not too accurate tho😢
That's also not a smart watch, it does a lot less with every day tasks. Unless you're looking for a fitness tracker. Kind of comparing two different things.
@@user-ol9vv6vg6non DC Rainmaker’s video it was very accurate. I’ve had mine for about 6 months and have found it to be VERY accurate. Idk how long this other person used it before making a video but I found mine to get much more accurate over time, especially after the first two weeks. It has to get to know you.
I used to own samsung galaxy 5 pro watch ... now looking to change. I own s24 ultra phone so do you guys think huawei gt4 is best and work as good and more then the samsung galaxy watch?
This is the best overall smart watch market overview video I've ever seen.
I'm still using my Galaxy Watch 3 Classic. I really like the rotating bezel. I may end up with the Gen 1 Pixel Watch tomorrow.
“As tough as a weatherspoons lamb chop” is the best comparison I’ve ever heard!!
Try reviewing the dm100 smartwatch
I got the apple watch ultra and garmin epix gen 2 pro. Love them both, the Epix is my favorite though.
Which one is the best to buy among them
this channels reviews are just class, no sugarcoating hahah ‘comment down below what a massive twat I am and what I should’ve included’ 😂 was about to say you missed out Garmin but you got a last min tap in with that one
Galaxy watch 6 classic is awesome, im using it as daily watch and for workouts, i came from watch active 2
My Watch 6 Classic gets so many compliments
I am switching from my Apple Watch to the Garmin Venu 3S. A circular watch looks sooo much better compared to the Apple Watch and I'm so BORED with the very limited watch faces on my Apple Watch. Very excited for the Garmin watch!
So, almost all manufacturers have at least a smartwatch each.
Now, that one is a good to know!
Garmin venu 2 plus please ?
I think a lot of people are confused as to what a smart watch really is, because I keep seeing “where’s garmin?”. Garmin is more of a fitness tracker, it doesn’t really have any apps outside of anything fitness related. If your watch isn’t able to do things like start your car, disarm your house, check flights, order an Uber, etc, on your watch then it’s more of a fitness tracker, hence the reason why it’s not in this list.
The Venu 3 can do a lot of those things through the Google voice assistant.
@@vpnconsult that's not the watch doing the task, that's the phone. Voice assistant is just a microphone that activates the task on the phone, meaning you need a phone in the vicinity.
I'm using the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, so far my favourite watch
Is there a reason you don't ever review Garmin smartwatchs??
Please check out the Nothing smartwatch too
I'm planning to get Amazfit Trex 2, any opinion guys on that watch? Pro and cons maybe for those that already used it ?
If you want to use it for fitness and sleep tracking, get the new Amazfit Balance instead. The sensors in it are miles ahead of Amazfit's previous sensors, finally on par with Google/Samsung (though Samsung's sensors in their 6 series are actually worse than the 5 series for some reason), close to Apple. Other than that, ZeppOS has come a long way and they're still chipping away at it. My Balance has already had 2 updates since it was released over the Summer. Just a shame they haven't put the new sensors in any of their other models yet, was hoping the new, cheaper Amazfit Active would have the new ones, but they've put the previous gen sensors into that one...
I've been using the trex 2 for a year, good battery life, but inaccurate measurements. Now I'm using Samsung Galaxy watch 6 classic 47 mm and is miles ahead. Of course the price is different also. My suggestion is to look for another watch.
USA UM CELULAR XIOAMI JUNTO PELO MENOS
Just take into account the health data is not to be trusted from that model.
How many of these watches are compatible with IOS? Some of them aren't that I know . Would be nice to mention 😊
The Huawei watches just cant be beaten imo and stunning to look at
Still got a gt pro 2. It's been well smashed about, but glass is still without a scratch on it .
@@elwittinio2865Me too and not a scratch on it .I think getting the GT4 for Christmas tho
Thats what happens when they don't have to invest as much in R&D because they stole all the tech.
What phones have you got? I love my gt2 but I doesn't sync with my pixel 7 so sadly I'm looking for something new
@@Gamera180 Exactly the same I have a pixel 7 typing with it now,Iv never had an issue with syncing at all
nice
quick question, is it worth getting galaxy watch 6 for phones like xiaomi? im waiting for xiaomi watch 2 pro since its sold out on most stores, but is it worth waiting for it rather than getting gw6?
depends on your budget gw6 is imo and lowkey objectively is way better option
I have watch 5 pro and i love it!
Best Android camera watch according to you? Please reply
Problem here in RSA we can't make use of nfc on Huawei watches. I'm looking to purchase a watch but nfc, amoled and 7+ days battery life is the issue. Annoying to say the least.
Love my Ticwatch pro 5 🤘, such an upgrade from the fossil watch gen 5 I had! That thing wouldn't even last 24 hours. The Ticwatch lasts just under 5 days for me and if in essential mode. Lasts 2 weeks for me🤘
I had the 3. Worth the upgrade?
I had a apple watch 3 and 6 switched to samsung so I might get the samsung watch 6 more my style instead of the classic
Im getting around 10 days battery life on my Huawei watch 4 PRO with AOD on.
And giving your data to some chinese server probably under the control of Chinese govt.
Your vdo thumbnail looks like some early 80s never released on VHS tape Time Traveller movie..
11:19 ayooo 🤣🤣🤣
Looking for a new smartwatch for my Google pixel anyone have some ideas(something other than the pixel watch)
The exact Title I'm looking for
Amazfit T-Rex Pro 2 is my next watch.
Still rockin an Amazfit 2 ... after 2+ years still charging just once a month for what I need, which is basically: time, email notifications, iPhone sound controls, alarm countdowns, step tracking... less than 100 Brit Quids... charging every few days for something more expensive doesn't make sense to me.
My Amazfit GTR Pro has faulty screen soon after the one year warranty and the service centre told me they can't repair it as the repair will cost more than a new watch...
Crazy hownthe watch 6 classic isnover 100 punds cheaper than the watch 5 pro just now! 80% off thinking of grabbing one
Ive had two Mobvoi products (TicWatch E3 and ANC Earbuds) and both broke way before they had any right to.... as amazing as the new TicWatch looks, i just cant trust them with £300...
I have no idea how people use their Pixel watch 2, but by the end of the day, it always has at least 60% with me.
I've used Huawei watches for several years and just purchased the Watch Ultimate.
What a stunner, running through the Huawei health app from the App gallery on my Pixel 7 Pro it does it all plus more than I will ever use, excellent battery life and tracking accuracy plus a couple of updates means it is perfectly at home on my phone. Luvit 👍
Do you have issues with syncing it with Strava?
@@scampy2840 No, Huawei Health App has an option to sync with Strava direct but I use an app called Health Sync to also sync to Google Fit as well, all seamlessly 👍
@@scampy2840No, the Huawei health app as the option to sync with Strava direct but I use an app called Health Sync to also sync with Google Fit at the same time.
I use a Pixel 7 Pro and having a Huawei account downloaded the Huawei App Gallery and HMS Core to download the indigenous Huawei Health App and gave all the pemission reqd in spite of the usual warnings.
Works a treat, updates are getting through so I'm extremely happy 😊
What is the best phone/smartwatch combo??
Uncle Spurt, no Garmin's? Vivoactive 5, Venu 3?
saddens me that the Huawei Watch GT 4 doesn't have BMI feature
Got my first Huawei watch( GT4) 3 weeks ago After owning Samsung; and it’s awesome. At last being able to track all metrics day and night is the main reason for owning a smart watch in my opinion, and that’s what the Huawei watch 4 does. 2 weeks 1 charge.
Any reason why our man has not included any Garmin model ?
make a video on smartwatches with longest battery life
11:19 🤣🤣🤣
That hook was such a personal attack 😅😅😅
Where's the garmin, maybe the Venu 3?
posted up with the ice on the thumbnail i see🥶🥶🥶
Ha! Loove the genx/millenial proper geordie chat... The "chee_yaz" is authentic... I reckon its leaning more towards the south though... possibly co Durham, / tyne and wear.. If I had toi stab a guess at the accent I would say Lobley hill.
Amazfit balance?
How about the Amazfit T-Rex 2?
The amazfit Balance has more accurate health data. If you're into that Chinese brand.
Wakanda forever, brother!
I'm upgrading from the Oppo Watch 46mm to the TicWatch 5 Pro - nothing wrong with the Oppo offering whatsoever, but I want something that looks like a watch, not a basic £20 amazon offering like most of the Apple watch knock-offs! Plus, a crown for navigation is much nicer than having to wipe away my fingerprints! For £229 on a Black Friday deal, gotta be worth it if it's already the King at £300!
Uncle Spirt a mention of watch face size would be nice. Or even a separate comparison for watches that fit wrists the size of chopsticks?
Wife is Thai, and her wrists make yours look like you're Tyson Fury. 😂
I see Mobvoi have 30% off their latest watch at the moment
What about Pebble alternatives?
The age old question with no good answer. I stiil use my Pebble Time with Rebble and its still better than most new additions
@@peabbles1012 The batterie of mine died some days ago. RIP best smartwatch out there.. 😢
you're effortlessly funny lol
Withings smartwatches are the best. Those are GDPR-compliant and even have clinically tested EKG, not to mention that are designed/based in Europe (France) with an average 30 days battery life in one charge.
Isn't a withings smartwatch on his list?..
@@tylerparker4010 indeed, thank you, the last one is Withings, for some stupid reason I couldn't get until the end of the video! I have modified my commentary.
I'm looking for a mininalist smart watch that is "future" proof. I don't want a slow/malfunctioning watch in 1-2 years. I also don't care for all the fitness/sleep tracking. I just usually just use notifications, emails, and calendar stuff. And I also don't want to be charging the watch nightly.
Garmin is your answer. The Venu 3 is a great all-rounder. The VivoActive 5 is more basic for if you have a tighter budget, if you're more into sports the forerunner 265 & 965 could be for you. All of them have a battery time of minimal a week up to 3 weeks depending on the model and settings.
Fitbit Sense 2 ?
Not really a smartwatch
1st
Which do you think is best though?
