@agiflow Yes now there is,I made this post 3 months ago. But still the chip on the SE is better, the operating system is better and more secure and the base wide camera is better. It also has a better build quality and will get more years of support with updates.
The SE 2022 now I'd say is at it's best value wise. Yes you get a small more outdated screen and a smaller battery. But if you can get over that, you get more pros than cons. Especially if you find a good deal on it. What sticks out to me on the SE 2022 is the premium build quality, 5g, excellent speakers, long term software updates, wireless charging and all the Apple features. In some cases you can find them for $100 or slightly more. At those prices it's pretty much an unbeatable deal. Sure there are better iPhones but you'll pay a lot more so it ultimately depends on if you can live with the few trade offs for the price.
I want to switch to the SE because I want to start using my iPad more and more in terms of Media Watching. I also really miss the bessels on those type of phones and the rounded edges. I think the square edges are good on the 12/13 but I want something a bit more comfortable.
It’s sad that the SE is the only Apple phone with an LCD display. I really want an SE Plus. I can’t do OLED, gives me an almost immediate headache, especially as I use it a lot in low light. But the SE display is so small it’s very hard to use as your main device (as you explain here, our usage has changed since 2015), and battery is not great either. The camera is really excellent though, except at night.
Have you tried apples new phones with the Oled? I had this issue with headaches on the 11 pro and downgraded to an 11 but when the 12 came out I gave OLED another shot as I read apple did something to the display so it wouldn’t cause these issues. I’ve had the 12 and now the 13pro and it doesn’t bother me at all.
It's weird to say the SE's screen is a compromise when, again, that's the whole reason for the SE. It's using an older design to keep costs low and also...not EVERYONE wants a massive screen. It's not a compromise to me as it is conscientious choice. Love the size and form factor of the SE.
People upgrading from the iPhone X, 11 or 12 are NOT the targeted group of the SE. Apple directly compares the SE to the iPhone 6S, 7 and 8 only - for a reason. Those people are the target demographic here.
Last nite at work forgot my chargers for both iPhone my battery last all day on the iPhone SE got home with battery on 40%after working 8 hours overnight. It’s a good phone that I use mainly for work and as a second iPhone❤️
I can't talk about switching from a iPhone to iPhone. But I can say is I just moved from a Google pixel 4XL to a iPhone SE. My first iPhone ever. The size of the SE 2022, is a game changer. Portability King 👑. The screen looks as good as my old pixel maybe because it's a small display. I use a phone as a phone, ie Call's, texts and music in the car. The SE lasts me all day all night, even with the occasional TH-cam blitz over lunch. I'm happy with it and don't think I can justify going to a bigger phone for my personal needs. Great review 👍🏼
Biggest differences for me, are 1. battery and 2. screen size. Camera and display quality aren’t that noticeable. 12 mini battery is not great either as I’ve also had one of those but it was a step up from the 2020 SE. Aside from battery I was happy with 12 mini and only switched to iPhone 13 because of a combo discount for having Verizon wireless and Fios (switched from Att). Hopefully I don’t regret it but already disappointed with Verizon’s coverage compared to Att at least in my area. I also seem to be one of the few people who prefer the design of the Se-not the small screen size but the shape and form factor; it just feels better in hand then the more squared off new iPhones.
Hi John, thanks for sharing your experience. As far as the design of the SE is concerned: it generates many critical comments, that is true, but at the same time many are ok with it. It is not revolutionary, that is true
still rocking iphone 6s, touch id still works perfectly. but battery life is fairly diminished now, it can tank from 50-10% after watching a couple youtube videos on wifi.
IPhone SE user here. Went back my iPhone 7+, just because I like the bigger screen, it is less clumsy, has better detail, more pixels etc. SE is faster. Going to try this for a week and see if the loss of speed is manageable
I wouldn't be surprised if this phone would exceed more than 6 years of supported updates because of Apple's reputation on delivering those. Also, I think the 13 mini makes more sense than the SE 2022 because of the extra features and slightly bigger screen and battery while still fitting in your pocket comfortably.
Right now it's looking like 5 major OS updates for iPhones is going to become the standard, so realistically iOS 20 should be expected as the final major update for the SE 2022 and 13 series. The 7 started on 10 and ended on 15, and the 8/X are rumored to end major support on 16 this year after shipping with 11. After that it'll probably be a couple more years of security updates.
Thomas, I must admit that I really miss my iPhone 8 Plus. If they came back with that design with the specs of the 12/13 models, that would be spectacular!
I have iPhone SE with charging case and its amazing. Coming from a iPhone 7, its a massive speed boost, and while the cameras are mediocre and im gonna get mocked by people calling it a iPhone 6, I couldnt really ask for much more. also I love touchid.
I want to buy this iPhone SE, right now I have a Galaxy Note 10 and I think I never use all of the features this phone gives me, thats why I think this iPhone is the best for me, I only use my phone for socials, casual photos and a few videos a day on TH-cam. I watched some reviews from this phone and this in particular gaves me the decision to defenetly buy it.
I have a new SE. I’m not sure what other people use there phone for but I can’t kill the battery on it . My phone was last charged to full 22 hours ago and it’s at 38% . I charge it at 7pm once a day. Up at 5am and on the road in at truck . Spotify going all day . Usually accounts for 60% of use . Calls , text, social media, some TH-cam , on line shopping and I’ve constantly gotten the same results for a month now. With 5g on and a VPN running. Frequent gps use. If you’re running this battery out in less than an 8 hour day you may want to do some soul searching. My reason for buying this phone was to help avoid the obsession of staring at a little screen all day. It worked
so I have the se3 and my family just got iPhone 13s (my dad has 13 pro) and after seeing their phones i kinda like my se better bc it’s smaller and easier to use but I still like iPhone 13.
iPhone SE 3 was at my carrier for 128gigs at $28 a month. The 13 128gigs was for sale at my carrier at $10 a month. I would’ve gone with whatever was cheaper, so I got the 13
I am geuinley sad that the old design is the main thing driving people away from this phone. people mock me for having a “iPhone 6” (actually the SE 3) which they all assume is 10X worse than their iPhone X. Whem I tell them my phone is technically better, they dont belive me because it has the older design.
But for me in my opinion, iPhone X and above were still a good choice if were looking the phone for the intense productivities. In the other hand, iPhone 8 Plus and below include iPhone SE (2022) will suitable for the person who just switching over from Android or might be want to use an iPhone without spending an extra cost. But thank you for the straight to the point analysis, you're making the tech so simplified and easy to understand!
it's 2024, and i still have my iphone SE3. it works great and is small enough to maneuver and put it in my pocket without much issues. As a person who works with tools a lot and draw from time to time, a bigger phone is not ideal as it can get in the way of doing things, as well as being bulky and hard to carry around, etc. The SE3 is the perfect, especially with its A15 CPU (it's fast enough for multi-tasking) and the ability to shoot in 4K videos!
Does anyone remember the iphone 3g with a 3.7“ screen 😹.. back in the day i thought .. this is huge… now i cant use it because of its size … but smaller phones back in the day wher better .. and today we van use them to get rid of our phone addiction .. at least a bit …
Yes I had one! And then a 4 and so on. I’m using an SE 2020 now. About to order an SE 2022 now: I can’t bring myself to spend over $1000.00 with taxes & accessories.
The main reason I feel, to buy the Iphone SE series is the smaller form factor and display. It is far better to use daily than the huge brick phones of today
i am using an iphone 7 and for my needs it is pretty good. but lately I feel the need for a slightly larger screen. then i considered a refurbished 11 pro. it is around 450 euros.
I bought the iPhone SE 2nd gen to upgrade my iPod Touch since Apple no longer supports the Touch (but still gets software updates). I can even sell my iPod Touch for just as much $ as the SE these days! It’s a no brained!!
TH-camrs have brainwashed a lot of people over time.( not pointing the video here) but, what do 80% of the people do that se3 can’t do? People need bigger display, oled screens? Not really, people have i pads, laptops and televisions for media consumption. If you do not, and you are buying a 13 pro…. Get a laptop instead as that’s a ore productive device overall. Se3 is more than enough for what most people would ever need
My phones have been Samsung s3 (absolute garbage, last time I ever used an android phone), iPhone 8, and iPhone SE 2. I don’t plan on replacing this until the SE 4 with the new design and hopefully better battery life
I think Google Maps might be a bit of a pain, on a smaller screen. That's really only my main holdback on a smaller phone these days. But - it's an important feature for easier map reading.
Hi, yes it is correct that the SE has a small screen size, but much depends where you come from. If it is from the bigger 11 or 12, then this small screen might be difficult to adjust to, but if you come from the 7 it will be the same
Google maps doesn’t look awful on the SE, WAZE on the other hand is very poorly optimized as it has as the UI for that app is really large. I would recommend going for the 13 mini tho it’s a much nicer phone
@@DionMedia She doesn’t care either way about having a home button, but she wants a Samsung again. She misses having more control of features and settings. There are more apps available for Androids than Apples also. For us, Apples are great as starter phones, but not as ones that you would keep for long. I want a phone with a small screen. SEs fit that need for me.
I have the 12 mini and the new iPhone se 3rd generation and both have there pros and cons to both, I love the speed of the A15 and it’s noticeable over the a14 in the iPhone 12 mini
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and specifically bought a 7 plus to get the home button experience but still get a, relatively speaking, larger screen. In some ways I prefer my iPhone 7 Plus, just wish that even with a brand new battery installed from Apple, it lasted as long off a single charge.
I have a se 3 and a 13 pro I find myself using the se more to the point of ditching my pro what I don’t like on the pro is the zoom poor comparison to Samsung
Very good and honest review. I don’t know what phone or video camera you shot this review on but man the quality is stunning. Watching this on my 12.9 inch 2021 Apple iPad Pro with the M1 chip and it truly brings out the glory of this iPad’s display. Subscribed.
I did.. the SE2. The small screen and home button were too much. I missed my iPhone 11 and switched right back. I had gotten the SE2 for a killer deal brand new and then an iPhone 11 about a month later. They really crippled it.. It did have Qi charging though which was a surprise.. my 90 year old grandma uses that phone and the only way she can remember to charge is setting it on the pad. I got her one with a little green ring to show it’s charging.. works well. She uses it for calls and texts and has no complaints. I’d say the SE series is for children or older folks.. it gets you into the ecosystem so you can setup family features and iMessage and subscriptions, but without ANY fluff or cool things. The battery was pretty bad if you streamed TH-cam too.. that alone was a deal breaker for me, I watch a lot of TH-cam and it sucked on the SE2 cause the battery. The screen looked good.. albeit small.
Now I'm just thinking about the same exchange. I need a safety device to shoot a video when my oneplus is draining. I regretted that I took the iPhone 13, and not se

I follow the backpack model of the smallest lightest device which will do the job - I often use the keyboard on my watch! I’d love an SE and have owned previous models, as long as I have my iPad Air 3 at home. Sometimes the urge wanes - right now, my main phone is the 12 Pro, which I justified by never seeing the full price due to trade-ins. I am on both sides of the device size fence.
I have a 8 plus, that I use at home. My daily is 12 mini. I MUCH prefer the 8 plus !! apple needs to come out with an se plus !! I had a 12 pro max before the mini. Massive phone and highly overrated, got rid of it immediately
You don't need to upgrade the iPhone 11 or 12.... they are both still great phones... Hell, the SE is just a boosted iPhone 8... which is still good enough for most people....
I prefer choose iPhone SE, pretty good camera and stunning video. Still have iMessage and Apple Music definitely. So why i have to spend a lot of money if iPhone SE could manage all it well.
The thing is that we always want what we don´t have at the moment. We soon get bored and want a larger or a smaller phone with different specs. That´s just how humans work. The grass always looks greener on the other side.
I bought the 13 last month but the sharp edge didn't do it for me so I returned it. Love the round edge of the older design and the lighter weight too. What's more, the SE has the A15 chip which is a great plus. Will get one with 256GB by the end of the year because my iPhone 8 is still working fine.

Thanks for sharing you POV. Happy Holidays
Iphone se has the home button and a nice small poketable shape so im happy
I’ve have had my se2022 for over two months now and I have had no problems with battery and I’m a pretty heavy user
If your buying a phone you know what the size is so it’s not a compromise when you know what your buying
Hi Tim, these are definitely important part of the Apple target group.
Last nite at work forgot my chargers for both iPhone my battery last all day on the iPhone SE got home with battery on 40%after working 8 hours overnight. It’s a good phone that I use mainly for work and as a second iPhone❤️
Hi Shirley, thanks for sharing
I can't talk about switching from a iPhone to iPhone. But I can say is I just moved from a Google pixel 4XL to a iPhone SE. My first iPhone ever. The size of the SE 2022, is a game changer. Portability King 👑. The screen looks as good as my old pixel maybe because it's a small display. I use a phone as a phone, ie Call's, texts and music in the car. The SE lasts me all day all night, even with the occasional TH-cam blitz over lunch. I'm happy with it and don't think I can justify going to a bigger phone for my personal needs. Great review 👍🏼

@@DionMedia thank you. It was weird as the person with your profile picture had zero subscribers and wanted me to pay for shipping. So obvious.
Same. I ordered one yesterday ☺️ My first ever iPhone. Will be a learning experience 😃
@@Victoria-sm1sj how is it?? I have the se 2 at the moment. I tend to keep my phone.
Yes, battery life of the 6 is quite miserable
IPhone SE user here. Went back my iPhone 7+, just because I like the bigger screen, it is less clumsy, has better detail, more pixels etc. SE is faster. Going to try this for a week and see if the loss of speed is manageable
I wouldn't be surprised if this phone would exceed more than 6 years of supported updates because of Apple's reputation on delivering those. Also, I think the 13 mini makes more sense than the SE 2022 because of the extra features and slightly bigger screen and battery while still fitting in your pocket comfortably.
Hi Miguel, thanks for sharing your thoughts
The se’s fingerprint scanner is not user friendly than Face id
@@PeteS_1994 the Touch iD is faster than Face iD
Right now it's looking like 5 major OS updates for iPhones is going to become the standard, so realistically iOS 20 should be expected as the final major update for the SE 2022 and 13 series. The 7 started on 10 and ended on 15, and the 8/X are rumored to end major support on 16 this year after shipping with 11. After that it'll probably be a couple more years of security updates.
They really should have used the iPhone 8+ size instead. It would have fixed everything.
I only use my iPhone 8 for texting, taking a few photos and make phone calls occasionally. It's more than what I need.
I still have the iPhone 8 Plus… As soon as the iPhone SE comes up with a version that’s a larger size that’s all I’ll be buying.
Hi Thomas, with Apple they have a team reading comments from Tech Channels, so let us hope they read this one too (and do something about it :)
Would love a SE vs. iPhone 13 mini video
🙏☺️
I want to buy this iPhone SE, right now I have a Galaxy Note 10 and I think I never use all of the features this phone gives me, thats why I think this iPhone is the best for me, I only use my phone for socials, casual photos and a few videos a day on TH-cam. I watched some reviews from this phone and this in particular gaves me the decision to defenetly buy it.
Ur underrated... Amazing video... I've iPhone 13 and I got it after watching ur review video. God bless
Thanks Mirza for your kind feedback. Enjoy your 13
I have a new SE. It worked
Nah some games can drain a phone battery pretty fast if your battery is lasting 8 hours then you're not really a power user
Hi Frank, thanks for sharing. The way you use your phone indeed leaves some more battery time than for the ”heavy” users.
Hello. Do you still use your SE and how's the battery life now?
so I have the se3 and my family just got iPhone 13s (my dad has 13 pro) and after seeing their phones i kinda like my se better bc it’s smaller and easier to use but I still like iPhone 13.
iPhone SE 3 was at my carrier for 128gigs at $28 a month. The 13 128gigs was for sale at my carrier at $10 a month. I would’ve gone with whatever was cheaper, so I got the 13
(Se) is the only phone in this price which is real waterproof, Great CPU ,wireless Charging, Great Camera, and best Size ,I wanna buy it❤️
Hi Amir, if the wallet allows it, then go for it:)
Thanks Faisal for sharing your point of view. Good advice as well! And as always I appreciate your words of support.
@@DionMedia You're very welcome. I might interested to watch your another Apple related content videos, though👏
Not really.....someone from android would be turned off from the huge bezels and more than likely would want an iphone with a full screen
@@devilkazumi578 I will be switching to an iPhone from an android in a few months, this is exactly what I think
it's 2024, and i still have my iphone SE3. it works great and is small enough to maneuver and put it in my pocket without much issues.
“Save Some Cash” - Yeah that’s why I put my Gray Advent Titanium fade case on it.
Wise decision :)
Wow! The SE display is huge to me after my android. But I do like the way the SE fits in small places.
Does anyone remember the iphone 3g with a 3.7“ screen 😹.. back in the day i thought .. this is huge… now i cant use it because of its size … but smaller phones back in the day wher better .. and today we van use them to get rid of our phone addiction .. at least a bit …
:)
Yes I had one! And then a 4 and so on. I’m using an SE 2020 now. About to order an SE 2022 now: I can’t bring myself to spend over $1000.00 with taxes & accessories.
Christ. I’m old skool and don’t spend all my life on phone. The SE is perfect
The SE is making many people happy, that is clear:)
Hey, nice review, I needed this because I saved up some money and wanted to get an IPhone Se 3 and I needed some specifications
The quality of the vids taken in this comparison is superb. More comparison to come.
Hi Simon, very kind of you to say this
TH-camrs have brainwashed a lot of people over time.( not pointing the video here) but, what do 80% of the people do that se3 can’t do? People need bigger display, oled screens? Not really, people have i pads, laptops and televisions for media consumption. If you do not, and you are buying a 13 pro…. Get a laptop instead as that’s a ore productive device overall. Se3 is more than enough for what most people would ever need
Hi, thanks for sharing your point of view. I agree with you that one always has to look critically at his/her needs
I would recommend going for the 13 mini tho it’s a much nicer phone
how the smaller size is easier for map reading?
I prefer SE’s home button. My wife has an 11, which doesn’t have one. I hate her phone for this reason.
Hi Greg, and what does your wife think?
@@DionMedia She doesn’t care either way about having a home button, but she wants a Samsung again. She misses having more control of features and settings. There are more apps available for Androids than Apples also. For us, Apples are great as starter phones, but not as ones that you would keep for long. I want a phone with a small screen. SEs fit that need for me.
I have the 12 mini and the new iPhone se 3rd generation and both have there pros and cons to both, I love the speed of the A15 and it’s noticeable over the a14 in the iPhone 12 mini
Hi Steven, thanks for sharing
If you had to pick between watching videos on the mini or SE which would you pick? The mini has the bigger screen I believe but it seems more narrow!
The iphone sucks without a physical home button.
I got the 13 mini two weeks ago and I love the size of the phone!!!
Subscribed.
Hi Prem, thanks for the feedback (and the subscription of course). Most of my videos I shoot with the Panasonic GH4
I miss my 3gs. Still using a 7plus which I’ll replace with the SE when needed. Great review.
Hi Gerry, thanks!
3GS? Wow you taking it back about 14 years lol. Are you over 60 out of curiosity?
@@2004cyrus Of course 😃
SE works fine for me. I saved a few bucks. I'm sure you can afford a new update every year. Best wishes.
Hi David, thanks for your comment
Hek yeah, I would like to see comparison between se and iphone mini 13!
I did..
The screen looked good.. albeit small.
thanks for sharing your experience
Now I'm just thinking about the same exchange. I need a safety device to shoot a video when my oneplus is draining. I regretted that I took the iPhone 13, and not se
I simply prefer iTouch and a home button. Always will.
I seriously saw the 300 views as 300k! Well done mate, great video
Thanks, will get there. More videos to come!
I don’t think I took anything away from this. I’m checking out your other content.
HI Chris, sorry to hear that, but I assume you already have a pretty good knowledge on these phones. I hope that my other content proved useful:)
I have a 13 mini and it’s way better than any phone ive had… the size of the device and quality of the phone is a bonus
How do you feel about the screen size when watching videos like on TH-cam and stuff? I’m worried it could be TOO small.
@@greeneyesfromohio4103 it’s completely fine. If i need to watch anything in the larger size I just flip the phone sideways. But the regular view is fine for me
Switching from 7 to SE 3 since its been 6 years. Thought bout to buy 13 at first but the hand grip and home button are what i need soo i choose the SE 3. Battery Perfomance is doing good, It can stay more than 12 hours. Soo, thats why i f$ck with the SE 3
Winner Dm ☝️.
Me too.,.Battery is the saviour
Very much interested in a review video of the iphone SE compared with the 13 mini as my iphone 7 start to get really old.
Hi Arthur, many projects ahead, this hopefully one of them
Hele hoge kwaliteit video’s man! Zwaar ondergewaardeerd. Blijf uploaden en je zult vroeg of laat groot worden 💪🏻
Ah, you’re my man. Dank je, ik ben net begonnen (een jaar Tech nu) en zeker niet van plan te stoppen:). En, je woorden van waardering stel ik op prijs! Geniet van het komend weekend.
If you were a teacher, I think I'd enjoy your classes 😅
I love how you make gestures with your hand and speak very calmly.
Thank you! 😃
I have a 13pro however my son wants a new phone, at this time he has an Xr so I wanted to upgrade him...but I'm not buying an iPhone 13 for a 14yr-old kid...so he should be happy with this SE 3rd gen...thanks for the video
Telegram I am not familiar with
Can you inform me...and is this serious?
Quality content, loved the video.
Thanks, and I love your comment :)
Very honest review the way you explaining your experience compared to bigger iphone. Considering to get SE and this video really helps.
Good to hear and enjoy your new watch
Also, great video. I love the way you explain things. :D
comparing an iPhone se to iPhone 13 with almost $500 price difference is really stupid, like comparing apples and oranges.
Hi Omer, could be, but there is really of lot of demand for this type of comparison video
Hi Tim, thanks for sharing your experience
I have a 8 plus, that I use at home. My daily is 12 mini. I MUCH prefer the 8 plus !!
apple needs to come out with an se plus !!
I had a 12 pro max before the mini. Massive phone and highly overrated, got rid of it immediately
Lol TH-cam videos are Almost identical size on both phones.
Great review. I am currently using se 2020 and 13. Both are great devices depending on the usage.
Hi Mohammed, thanks for the compliment and the feedback
You don't need to upgrade the iPhone 11 or 12.... they are both still great phones...
Hell, the SE is just a boosted iPhone 8... which is still good enough for most people....
On both accounts you are correct
I prefer choose iPhone SE, pretty good camera and stunning video. Still have iMessage and Apple Music definitely. So why i have to spend a lot of money if iPhone SE could manage all it well.
HI, thanks for your comment, your reasoning is followed by many! Enjoy the SE and the money that is left :)
Enjoy!
Just bought it new for 250, I have a Pixel 6 currently but like Apple CarPlay more and never watch videos on phones.
