One thing that I’ve noticed with my iPhone SE 2020 (that is probably even more the case for the iPhone SE 2022) is that since the screen is so bad, you think that the pictures that you take are not good looking, but in reality if you airdrop a photo taken on an iPhone SE 2022 to look at it on a good screen (like an iPhone 12), you’d see that the camera is much better than you thought
It’s probably down to HDR because the SE can take HDR photos, while the screen only displays them in SDR.
As for the quality of the screen itself, I really don’t think it’s that bad or frankly different from other iPhones beyond the lack of HDR.
Hello, wanted to ask if the 64gb enough for an average user who does not like storing that much on my phone.
@@lifeofarottenboy7289 I would say so, yes
@@lifeofarottenboy7289i just got a 64gb and it’s definitely enough, at least for me. Keeping photos and videos on iCloud helps a lot though. If you want to keep everything downloaded or have a lot of games on it though, I’d go for at least 128gb. Otherwise, 64 is fine.
I think the 64 should be enough if you use streaming services for music and don't plan on keeping loads of images and videos on your phone @@lifeofarottenboy7289
As a 12-year-old turning 13 on June 29th, my parents decided it was a good idea to get me my first iPhone, I have been using a 20$ android for 2 years, I am VERY excited for this iPhone SE 3rd generation, I have no idea what is wrong with me, but whenever I find out I am getting something I research the crap out of it to get myself more excited. Anyway, I want to say thank you for making the hype even further up the chart.
im 38 years old and i still do what you do. theres nothing wrong with getting excited about new things you like. i hope you enjoy it!
Kid, keep doing that. It’ll keep you happy about purchases you make because you actually put the effort to research them. I got ride of my 14, 13, and 12 pro max . I use the SE3 2022, I haven’t had a SINGLE thing I could complain about for functionality. It runs games amazing even when you set it to low battery mode/Lte only, but then you also get 5G and 4k video. It’s perfect for young teens, older adults and people who do manual labor (don’t have to worry about my $1000 phone getting dirty/lost)
all the best, youngling
lol bro I’m 24 and I still research stuff I’m excited to buy before and after I do buy lol
Nothing wrong with you! Just shows your very interested in the tools you use and have a curious brain!
The se3 is basically an iPhone 13 in a retro iPhone body… super iconic design…
And you can operate it with one hand.
That’s why I bought my 3rd gen SE 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
more like 13 mini bro

bad battery
@@JustRob2024 Bad battery? Maybe for a millenial social media doom scroller. For a normal person, this is multi-day battery. Stop being addicted to your phone.
@@vaultboy1419 no, its actually very bad, only thing saving this phone's battery from being downright crap is how efficient and optimized ios and their chips are.
About to switch back to the SE from my 14 Pro. Simplicity is all I'm looking for in life anymore.
Mad respect man same here
same honestly
Did u change tho and consistent with it
that’s what i’m doing! my SE2022 is supposed to be delivered today and i’m beyond excited
I’m in the process of going back to my 13 Mini. I’ve been on a mission to use my phone less for scrolling (music doesn’t count against my screen time) and also having an Apple Watch lets me forget my phone and not have that anxious feeling of fomo from people around me. I love the iPad mini. I’m excited to see your review on it, I use it everyday at work and it’s just the perfect size for productivity for me
I'm just switching from iPhone 15 to iPhone SE 2022 and it is feels great to have a phone that we can use one hand, compact form and beast chip is huge strengths for this phone despite they have limited battery life.
First!! It is crazy to me that basically everyone thinks that we need the newest greatest phone but you have been using this older phone just fine. Must be a cultural problem
This phone is only 2 years old so it isn’t anywhere near old. I still use an iPhone 6s and it works perfectly and runs all the modern apps and gets support and updates from apple still.
@@9852323 yikes… roasting Scott with Techno Eclipse’s wife is not a good look 😂😂😂
@@Mrs.ScottSchroeder hahaha, to be honest I agree with @9852323 on this one sweetie. iPhone 6S FTW
😂😂 I agree that the SE isn’t very old too
I have an original se battery life is 84% I also have a iPhone 15 plus 100% battery after 12 months I had a iPhone SE 2022 in red and sold it but I missed this great little phone so I have bought another in midnight prefer this phone over my 15 plus
I just bought this phone, midnight version, it’s amazing!
Watching this video today made me drop everything and head to the shops to buy this iphone! As a 26 year old, Currently have a 12 Pro Max and I was going to upgrade to 16 Pro max , but was sick of how many hours I spent brain rotting and doom scrolling social media. Getting a phone half the size whilst still retaining the smart features is a big W for me. Thank you for making this video, especially the ending edit I really resonated with. Wish you nothing but more blessings in life. Love from Australia!
I hope you take your life back! Making videos like this is funny to me, because if I am successful then my audience leaves me for better things, which makes me happy
Using SE 2022 almost 2 years and it's perfect small cute phone . And first of all it's comfortable
How's the battery life you are getting?
@surajisagoodboy it's good. 88% battery capacity with 6 hours screen time every day .
@@kusov4748man, two exactly years with my se 2022 as well, and 88% battery.
Reading some of these comments and thinking that maybe I’m not crazy for wanting to sell my 15PM for the SE3! I hate the amount of time I spend staring at the big stunning screen with various social media apps etc on a daily basis.
I switched back to the SE 2022 from my iPhone 12. Face ID was not working properly and I missed the home button. The SE fits much better in the hand.
I barely comment but this video was amazing. I downgrade my 13 pro to SE 2022 because of my screen time and I was watching some videos about it. Your video was just what I was looking for keep it up sir.
I switched 2 days ago from a Z Flip 5 to iPhone Se 2022, I noticed I use less and less my device and that phone brought me back to iOS. I do enjoy it so far and battery life to me is great!
The SE 2022 is great deal if you check your local used market. I got an unlocked Midnight 64gb model for $179 on eBay. I use it as my travel phone since my main phone is carrier locked so my Main phone is basically a camera when Im in another country. Knowing that the SE 2022 is likely to get a few more years of IOS updates, gives me peace of mind t0 use the SE 2022 as my secondary/travel phone for many years.
I’ve been using the SE2 for 4 years now and it slowed down so much after I updated to iOS 18. I’m finally upgrading this year
I love my I phone SE3 and I phone SE2 as a back up device so far it work great and as a student what I used it for daily.
If you are a non-content creator and a non-developer then the SE is just the perfect daily phone.
Been using it for 2 years now! No regrets!
I had to get rid of my 13 mini because it started giving me Pwm and I’ve been using my se3 and no issues. I use my phone 3 hours a day and I’m trying to get it down.
i’ve used every iphone se since 2016 upgrading every 4 years, i got my SE 3rd gen 4 months ago and im so mind blown how much better it is
2016 1st gen SE: it lasted a good while lasted thoughout almost all of secondary school (high school) main problem battery and storage
2020 2nd gen SE: probably my most poorly aged phone it had terrible battery life the A13 chip was too much for the phone and the 64gb storage messed it up badly and it lost the ability for NFC for some reason at the end of its life so no apple pay
2024 my new SE 3rd gen: amazing phone battery life is solid and has never had no hiccups 128gb storage perfect
Thanks for video. you should have millions of views
Physical buttons are so much more convenient, it´s a stand out feature. Also this Phone or even more the iPhone 7 are great for slow down phone addiction. Also LCD doesnt flicker and is nice to eyes. It´s propably the most "healthy" phone right now to have
Apple agrees so much they just keep adding buttons to their phones 😂
I use an se 3 as my main phone . It does everything I want and it’s much more comfortable to use compared to a larger phone
Thanks to techno eclipse I reduced my daily phone usage from 4-5 hours to 2-3 hours daily
I like the iPhone SE it’s reminds me of my old iPhone 6s which was my first my iPhone ever I miss my old iPhone 6s rip headphones jack
I subscribed because you are honest and you care about children and the rising generation. You are respectful and you deserve to be a content creator.❤
The first iphone i got was the original SE, I liked how small it was. Moved away to a samsung midrange phone when it recieved its last major OS update (ios 15). My samsung also recently recieved its last major update and I moved back to apple. Now rocking the SE 3rd gen, I like it so far. I am light user and only need to keep up with notifications here and there.
Even for heavy use it’s fine for me. I game on it, watch plenty of videos, sorry to say it still sucks me in. Idk what is meant by only the newer phones doing that but I just really wish it had a better camera. At least night mode >_<
I remember back when my mom got the 7+ and I was alil upset apple didn’t put the 2x camera on the regular size one.
Here I am 8 years later with still a single lens camera. Wack, I don’t want a big phone!
I love your videos! Thanks for all of the time, work and money that you dump into each of these review videos. I’m not sure why you don’t have at least 100k subs, but I feel like you’re not far off from that and more if you keep going. I’m sure it can be discouraging not getting the traction that you want, but your channel and your message for mindful and affordable tech is definitely needed in the world. I see you haven’t posted for a while, I hope all is well!
Dude is quite underrated tbh
I agree with everything you said, except the battery part. I’ve been using an iPhone SE 2020 with 86% of battery health. It is not enough for anything almost. Last week I tried to hit the gym with 80% battery and just listening for music and occasionally looking into Instagram, the battery drained like 40% in one hour so it’s not good enough.
a battery replacement would really help is pretty easy to replace. i replaced my brothers own and he gets a average of 6 hours non stop use . if he used it less it would last the whole day
Se 2020 has horrible battery but 2022 se has good battery
i am pwm sensitive currently on iphone 11. the iphone se3 will be my secondary phone with a better chip mainly used for apple music and podcasts
I had a 2020 iPhone SE for awhile and absolutely loved it. I was convinced to 'upgrade' to an iPhone 14, but I hate it. It's too big and for me is akin to driving a luxury car when all I really need is a Prius. That being said, I'm selling the iPhone 14 and 'downgrading' to a refurb 2022 SE. The iPhone 7/8 body style was the 'golden age' of Apple in my opinion. Happy I can still use a phone with that form factor for the next couple of years at least.
I currently still use my XR 10 and will use it until I can’t. I refuse to drop $1K on a phone because that’s just ridiculous. When the time comes, I will replace my phone with something that is inexpensive, preferably under $400 and can do the job. I’m grateful for these types of videos as I still want my phone to have good internal hardware and can easily handle any iPhone updates. Clearly my phones last me a while.
i like your comment. i think more people should be like you or me--being mindful of what we usually do on our phones and spend just right for what we only need. Many people immediately dream of getting the most expensive iphone without realizing that will be paying for those expensive features they don't need or rarely use
@@juliusdelapaz128I couldn’t agree more. When I left Verizon as my carrier and switched to Visible (only $25 a month ) the guy tried to shame me for switching. 4 years later and $2,400 saved, I have zero regrets and my carrier works like a charm. My phone is a tool and not my life. Also, there’s nothing wrong with being frugal when it comes to a depreciating asset.
One thing i must say is that while my social media screen time is high too, i also use my phone all day at school as a calculator, to message about projects, take pictures and record things and time myself on things etc and I feel like the battery won't be enough. I want this phone so bad, I can afford it, and I'll be coming from a 14 pro max to test this minimal nostalgic lifestyle, I just really hope the battery holds up 🙏
get a powerbank then...
@@juliusdelapaz128truth!!! fixed the issue of my 6s getting only 4 hours of battery real quick
I think the only 2 issues with the SE 3 is the RAM and the resolution, if it had 6GB of RAM and a 1080p screen it would be 100% perfect.
I have the SE 3 and I really like it!
I have the se 2. Works great years later. No reason for me to upgrade.
Best iphone for the price BY FAR.
Loving this channel and this kind of content. Still rockin my 12mini and I don't have problems with my phone since I only use for call and messaging and taking street photography

Just got an SE 3 for $120 on OfferUp and it’s running iOS 18 better than my 12 pro max did
great video!
In regards to my whole iPhone and Samsung dilemma, i think i ll just use both, well not really, more so switch between them on a monthly basis or sth similar, i just like them both too much and yeah, probably trying so hard to decide also uses up brain power for nothing so i ll just use both.
Also, commenting this 2-3 hours before going to sleep with only 1 hour of screentime on the dot 😄
That is amazing! I’m happy for you, you’re killing it!
Ultra wide camera isn’t even always used for every photo. I prefer just having a single camera lens.
I rarely take photos, just videos. But I agreed, I rarely use the wide angle to take a photo
I’m the opposite , I’m a tile setter and I use the wide angle lens to take photos of my tile jobs and in a small room it’s nice to be able to get the whole job in a single photo
I am waiting for iPhone SE 4......... I love this series so much. I also believe that apple should introduce iphone mini model in iPhone 17 or 18 because iPhone 13 was booooooom.......
This may as well be, “I bought an iPhone 16 six weeks ago is it still usable in November ‘24??” It’s not a candle stick telephone from the early 1920’s!!
I don't think I said it would be tough, just filming my experience. But does that candle stick telephone have a camera that can film 4k? Might be a good video LOL
@@techno_eclipseMabey not but you can use two candles to replace the sensor bar in the Wii (I'm dead serious) which is cool😅
I upgraded from a 13 Pro to a 15 Pro. The gap between the 6s-8, 8-XS, and XS-13 Pro all felt way bigger. We’ve reached peak and stayed there 4 years ago
After using the SE3rd generation since it came out the battery is at 78% peak capacity. Usage is about 35 min/ daily. Also the special shots like nighttime, fireworks etc are not even close to the higher end iPhones. But i still like the phone for its size and simplicity. I don’t want to carry around some mini iPad sized device when out of the house. Lastly, I agree totally with limiting daily usage as these devices can literally take over ones life. My girlfriend’s usage is over 8 hours a day and it has effected our relationship. I feel as though her phone comes before me. Any mention of this sets of arguments so the situation just continues. I’m sure there are millions of ruined relationships because of the addiction of these devices.
I have the SE gen 2 and it's now 4 years old. Works great. Battery capacity is at 94%. I want to upgrade, but don't think I need to since I use it as a phone and do not use a lot apps. I may upgrade to the SE gen 4, but the AI feature is a major turn-off. AI is unnecessary.
This will be my first iPhone, my first Apple device in a long time I got an iPad Mini 4 for Christmas 2015 which I had for nearly 4 years and haven't had an Apple device in a long time
Watching Techno after a long long time. I used to watch him when he had a different name, and I've followed all of his videos as he travels through generations of iPhones looking for minimizing screentime. I agree the 2022 iPhone SE is a great option, but from what I've noticed with trying the same sort of thing is that the iPhone 11 seems like a very good mid ground in all of this. It has the battery, does everything you need and functions like a beast, just like back when it was released. I've seen some rumors about a iPhone SE 4 in upcoming Apple release, any ideas on this Scott ?
To me the newest se is just the new mini lineup. The phone I always fall back to is the iPhone 12 mini, I’m looking forward to the new SE’s.
Excellent review. And great that it’s more than just specs.
I’d love to use my old LG V20, well out of support, for audio quality and feel in the hand as well as 3.5mm headphone socket and sd card slot. But those are hard to get these days and iPhones have better audio out for wired (android down sampling).
So, I got a 15 max pro and love it as a mini tank powerhouse. But small phone it’s not.
I need to use two numbers so an iPhone mini is a great option especially with MagSafe as I have a MagSafe stand and a battery.
Try the LG velvet 5g its honestly a great phone has great audio quality and headphone jack as well as sd card. You can even get one of those wacky second screen things 😂 I have had my velvet for like 4 years and it has pretty much no issues and is surprisingly durable. I accidentally got mine knocked out of my hand and had it slam down face first onto a jagged rocky driveway and it was completely unscathed!! I did have a case on it but it's one of those silicone glitter cases with the oil in them
Mine also have the same issue with autofocus when record 30 fps videos. It continously happen 😢
Should I get the XR or this one? In terms of camera?
I broke my 14 Plus but honestly i am done with a big phones for my hands
Commenting from phone se3
Do you use cases for your phones?
Thank you.
Eclipse without a filter? I thought that was a no-no
It did nothing to my phone's camera (LG velvet) or my grandpa's iPhone 7s
Very nice video!!
Watching this after I walked outside for 1 1/2 hours. Better than scrolling on my tiny phone (12 mini)
I still wonder why the 2020/2022 SE doesn't have night mode. The chip can handle it.
Because if it did, it’s 1 less reason to buy the expensive phones 😂
I want a good quality replacement battery for this model, and I can't find. (I don't live in the US)
I use iphone se 2020 as my first iphone in this year 😂😊
I want one. But it's out of stock. Will they restock it??
yea the small screen is what put me off
Interesting. You just got a sub.
Is the 2020 SE the same since they’re basically the same phone?
The 2020 SE is $40-$50 less. They are effectively the exact same. If you want one of them buy the 2022, the extra few bucks are worth the several years of iOS updates
@@techno_eclipseThanx!
iPhone SE 2022 was released in March 2022 so I guess IOS updates will be avaible until around March 2028?

Question from an android user. Apple users know and make jokes about the short life of our Android phones, so, my question is if you buy a new iPhone today how many years would it last? I am seriously curious because if the support life is really so long, I'm thinking of changing
In terms of software support apple gives about 5 years or more of IOS updates (5 years minimum). So theoretically an IPhone lasts 5 years or more. But if you account for battery degradation I would say it would last you about 3-4 years, of course you can always replace the battery and get the full 5 years+ out of an iPhone. Of course depends on the model you buy, the iPhone 11 (my daily driver) was released in 2019, so it should get 1-2 more years of updates. If you buy an iPhone better stick to newer models if you want some more years of support.
@@Neon20301 thank you so much
My grandpa is still using an iPhone 7s and it works fine for pretty much everything you'd need . It just doesn't have all the bonus features I guess you could call them
as someone who has used a iphone 6s including right now, they should DEFINENTLY, last 10 years with current tech progression in the form factor of smartphones now

"only iphone has and always will be an expensive experience until apple released the iphone se lineup" what about the 5c, also 3g was like 300 dollars or smth
The 3g was 99 dollars with a 2 year contract, or 499 unlocked (800 dollars today). Fair point on the 5c, I sort of forget that little guy existed. I think apple wants us to forget too 😂😂

Battery life sucks tell you what
Had se 2020. battery is total crap. Do not buy this small battery phone. At 2 pm wothv80% battery health was dead. 2-3 times a day I need to recharge it. Not for normal user. Probably for grandma would be ok
“Battery life is good if you don’t use your phone that much”🤦🏾♂️
😂😂😂
I care more about a phone being a phone, versus having all that senseless additional stuff. My SE is perfect for me. Because I don’t use all that other stuff anyways. It’s a phone nothing more 😂 don’t get sucked into the gimmicks like they aim to do when they release a new phone every year basically. It’s a gimmick not a benefit
