I am really sorry about the first two clips I used having the Spanish dialogue in the background. I thought I had gotten rid of it during editing. It is only for the first two clips with the rest being normal. Gina really sorry about that
For Harry Osborn's perspective, this is the only Spider-Man adaptation that I know of that actually tackles his substance abuse from the comics. Greg Wiseman deserves a lot of credit for telling this story while getting it past the censors. If Timothee Chalamet really does play Harry Osborn in the MCU after Secret Wars, I know he'd deliver a great performance especially after seeing him play Nic Sheff in Beautiful Boy.
I'm really amazed that for a show catered to a much younger audience the writers and show runners handled Harry's drug use and addiction problem from the comics so well and added a lot of nuanced to it even when they don't directly say it's a drug but it also adds another layer of mystery to the Green Goblin identity (even if you know it's Norman, and yet they still do a good job at misdirecting you). Harry honestly has a pretty sad life in this show as he's belittled, reprimanded, judged and forgotten about by his own friends and family as we see his downfall become more severe. Btw what was up with the Spanish audio in the background of the clips?
I feel like people often talk about how great the Symbiote arc is in this show without mentioning the character of the Symbiote itself. Don’t get me wrong, this video was a brilliant analysis! I just want to share some of my own thoughts. To put it simply, the Symbiote becomes infatuated with Peter Parker the moment the two are bonded. And its influence isn’t just because the Symbiote is plain evil but rather in an attempt to keep Peter all to themself. It’s why Peter pushes his friends away; why he begins to care less about the friendships he’s made. The breaking point for Peter is when the Symbiote tries to convince him to let go of Aunt May, which at that point sets Peter up to rebel against his toxic relationship. And, when Peter rejects the Symbiote, it immediately turns to Eddie to try and get a one up on Peter. As we see at the end of the first encounter with Venom, the Symbiote leaves Eddie when it thinks it’s won Spider-Man over again, showing once again the Symbiote’s desire for Peter. Lastly, I want to touch on the last time we see Eddie in the show. We see how Peter attempts to comfort Eddie, telling him he doesn’t have to hold onto his hatred any longer. But Eddie just retorts, saying that the only reason the Symbiote ever wanted him was because of his hatred for Spider-Man. Tl;dr: The Symbiote’s goal throughout every episode it’s featured in is to keep Peter to themselves forever, and it makes for a perfect blend of the original story about toxic relationships and 90s show’s drug addiction allegory.
In Peter's perspective, I like how in the Persona episode that all the lines on Spider-Man's suit with the symbiote remain intact. I've noticed that it was an easy way to tell the audience that this was "in control" of the symbiote that Peter was going to get, but every episode after that the lines keep disappearing. That was a clever move on Greg Wiseman's part.
14 yrs since 9th grade and I’m still saying the same thing: I can never understand hatred and resentment towards another just because they gain something the other doesn’t. Like Harry, my mother always appreciated my brother most of the time and my brother gained a scholarship that I worked so hard for and used the knowledge taught by my teacher to get that scholarship and yet my brother got it despite not caring for what it stood for. I never once felt resentment towards my brother because my brother has always been better than me at everything; why should I get jealous and resentful over something that is complete 100 percent fact. Also, I have always been giving my mother reasons as to why I could be such a disappointment; I was just smart enough to see that. I can never feel jealousy towards my brother; him being better is 100 percent fact.
For some reason the notification didn't me about this. Yeah I found out while watching the extras on the Spider-Man 1 DVD extras about Harry's addiction problems. I didn't even connect it to this despite watching this and those extras at the same time. Yeah Harry trying to make him feel better by giving his money away and doing this to appease the cool kids was sad. It's sad that this still happens to this day and it doesn't end well. He really needed his father but we all know how that turned out. Gwen saw it but didn't know how to help and no one else could. Luckily Harry has perspective on this when it comes to season 2. Now the symbiote and Peter is weird. A lot of people associate it with addiction and it has a lot of similarities with it, but like me and one TH-camr describes, it's not that close. The symbiote gives you way more than any substance could ever do. However, making you more tired, isolating your friends and creating enemies you wouldn't have normally is definitely a sign of it. Great video as always.
I fell hard in to coke and alcohol pretty hard in my early to late 20s. At first it was awesome. I was never tired. I was the perfect boyfriend all day, the life of the party through the wee hours of the morning. And had pleanty of energy for work. I was never skinnier in my life. I felt great, fucked like a rock star. Before I knew it 6 years passed me by. I found myself married to a hoe. And not even really knowing who she was. I definitely didn’t see my kid enough. I haven’t seen much of extended family in years. I’m still picking up the pieces
She might have one in the second season, but honestly she serves as Norman’s perfect trophy wife more than anything. Something I plan to cover in my video on him

Don’t worry about it. This vid was amazing. Thanks for the hard work you put in to these
i was like "dude I've watched this show so many times did i completely miss the plot point that Harry had spanish schizophrenia?"
@@cleaver1835 😂
The fact that this show genuinelly makes you doubt if Green Goblin is actually Harry & not Norman
@@ArcTrooper269 perfectly well written
Initially,I thought Norman was Green Goblin before the reveal.
That shot where he’s holding the bottle of goblin formula and h the reflection of his eye looks like goblin’s is genius

PLEASE? Batman the Animated Series or Miss Martian from Young Justice?
this show always stuck with me even as a kid this storylines taught me something and it’s my favorite spidy show ever bc of that
This show did such a splendid job with misdirection; they had us all fooled.
The video should have been called Spider-Man, Harry and Temptation
When it's not dealt with; it don't care who it takes, and it takes it all.
This episode will be really good! :D I'm a little late, didn't see the notification 'til just now.
I would definitely like for a venom related video
