Granted, these things should be a given when you're making new games, but it's still a lot more than what NSMB did. Kirby's universe grew substantially with each game despite the relatively minimal gameplay changes, whereas Mario's universe hardly grew at all with each game.
The amazing mirror was pretty fun to playthrough. I did sometimes get stuck on where to find the switches, so it got confusing but overall, it was nice. Also a pleasure to help animate for ya.
14:37 . What may have happened here is the battery inside the cartridge just died. I've encountered this too. I was on my GBA playing super mario land 2, I beat Wario, then saw the credits, then I may have saw it froze (I can't remember off the back of my head), and when I turned my GBA back on, the save data was gone. Turns out there is a battery inside the cartridge that keeps the data chip on, if the battery goes out, your save data goes with it. So you must either A, backup your save data, then replace the battery, or B, accept hours of progress are now gone, and replace the battery and start all over again. Try replacing the battery, but be careful, it's soldered in, so you may want to get a professional to do it unless you know have to solder.
Bingo. This is why, about 15 years ago, I invested in a gambit screwdriver, and a bunch of CR2032 batteries. Removing the old ones can be a pain at first, but you get used to it after a while.
Yeah I kind of get why he skipped it (probably due to the fact it was already going to be alot of kirby games and probably wasn't going to be able to beat them all in 2 weeks if he did it. It makes me wish, instead of "can I beat this in 2 weeks" he'd just do "can I 100% all kirby games?" And just make it a really long video
I loved Kirby Superstar on the SNES. Although fun fact. There is a way to cheese the arena. All you have to do is pick a stone for Kirby, and thief for the helper. Then you activate Stone with Kirby rendering him invincible and use the second controller to beat up the bosses with Thief. The reason for this is that his attack can be repeated much faster if you are close to the enemy (sometimes being able to drain their power bar in seconds) and whenever you hold block. He blends into the background and enemies go right through him rendering him invincible during those frames. Heck, the laser can be beaten by just putting both Kirby in rock formation and Thief in blocking at the edge of the crystal platform and the laser with a few tries will just kill itself. The only bosses that can give you just a little trouble are the ability bosses since you can't spam attacks on them without stealing their abilities.
Hey Nathaniel, Kirby Star Allies actually gives you two secret messages when you complete the Friend Mode and Soul Melter EX difficulty! There is NO screenshot of this last time I looked (well I made one for myself of course). The friend mode secret message gives you the title "Master of Friends" and the Arena one gives you the title "Kirby Grandmaster" I call getting these messages TRUE 100%! Btw. The Extra Mode in the Kirby Return to Dreamland Remake is actually very hard! They almost removed every healing item you could get, which makes a big difference!
Regarding the ultimate choice from Kirby star allies, you don’t need to clear EVERY difficulty mode. You only need to clear the hardest ones available to you to get 100%.
36:49 If you thought Magolor Soul was a challenge, just wait until you try the True Arena in the Switch remake of Return to Dreamland. Trust me, the boss fight is WAY harder than the original. He has new attacks and he moves way faster. Plus, there's a phase 2 of that fight.
@@specialelfilin Funny enough, I easily cheesed the whole arena with the the spike ability of all things. Like, I continuously shake my joycon to shoot out spikes, which does amounts damage to the bosses, and it can cover a circle of them.
Y'all need to give Ice Ability a try! I cleared an entire Doomers gauntlet in a single Switch clip using the midair sprinting attack. The challenge, ofc, is not ramming your face into the boss' hitbox!
Yeah, it's a hot take that you only start to believe if you play all the games back to back like I did with no breaks. Although it's definitely not completely true, Kirby games stand out a good amount from one another
@@NathanielBandy Even Star Allies stands out, sure the gameplay is still bland but they heavily implied that Kirby is God. Like capital G God. I think its fair to say thats more than enough
@@EnigmaticGentlemanThat's a mistranslation from the English version. It's more like Kirby is a possibility of what that guy could be, not that they are really one and the same.
@@TornaitSuperBird Ngl, it is kinda crazy when the biggest part of what fans liked was actually a mistranslation. Version 1.0 genuinely has so little to offer, the updates were basically required.
In Kirby's adventure, you don't actually need to do the mini games or the extra game for 100%. I personally didn't have much trouble finding all of the switches, except for that one level in orange ocean. In the level, you need to kill the monkey, go the other way, blow a bomb block, enter a secret door in the place of the bomb block (which you can't even SEE), than enter ANOTHER secret door, eat a laser ball, go back to light a fuse on fire and than run to a cannon to lunch you to the switch. Brutal.
I love how surreal it is to see big names comment on such random videos. First I saw TH-cam comment on a low quality video of a spinning chip (and also a Radoukens short) now I'm seeing a damn NFL team comment about Kirby
I like triple deluxe more but I’ll never forget beating the game in about one to two days. My top three are 3 forgotten land 2 triple deluxe and 1 amazing mirror.

49:15 Speaking of space ship shooters, I’m a huge fan of those (my bro likes them too), especially the vertical oriented danmakus that let you turn your monitor on your side! You should play Batsugun, Cho Ren Sha, Crimzon Clover, Eschatos or Dodonpachi my man! They are worth your time. Being able to play in TATE mode makes it all the more immersive especially if your monitor frame can rotate in a vertical position which is specifically why I bought another monitor on Amazon that could do that, and for my bro of course. More 1M+ content creators need to cover shmups if you ask me. Also, imagine Cotton crossing over with Kirby. How cool would that be.
I was so glad I could catch live streams of this! It definitely looked frustrating at times (especially when streams were being finicky) but this series overall looked like a blast! I’m a little late to finding it but I’m glad I get to listen to the video afterward while I’m working. Thank you so much for posting this ^-^
1. I really wanna play a Kirby game now 2. Those urchins at 7:15 are in Mario Land 2! 3. For the next 100% all games run, might I suggest Crash Bandicoot, or maybe Spyro? I'm not sure how easy or hard it'd be, but it'd be fun to attempt! 4. I swear you can only get 10 Streetpass coins a day? It's like that for me anyway.
Comparing Return To Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, Planet Robobot, and Star Allies to the NSMB series is definitely a take. All the NSMB series did was copy and paste the formula and add a new power up or two. And that's about it. I guess one of them had the coin gimmick but wow more coins. How exciting. The Kirby games in contrast have so much more unique content from mini games, challenge modes, and the boss rushes including the hard mode versions of the boss rushes on top of their individual gimmick.
@@lpfan4491 well, youve heard it now. I never liked Wii and always thought the DS one was better. Then I got 2 and enjoyed the level design more. Plus Coin Rush.
@@lpfan4491 Wii and U are only "better" because multiplayer, so if you're somebody without irl friends (like me), the DS games being better is just a no-brainer. The original NSMB even has the best multiplayer mode in all of Mario.
Kirby allies is the first game i played co-op with my son who was then 4 years old. It was a blast. But to anyone doubting how easy it is, he made his own file and beat the main story entirely on his own.
not to be that guy but kirby's dream land actually has an "extra game" which is the original game but harder not that it would've made a lot of difference in your total time but it's quite fun and relatively challenging compared ot other kirby games
I do think NiDL, SSU, & RtDL DX should've counted for this marathon too since they have extra content for 100% completion. Even if you want to argue that they don't matter since they're remakes, I'd argue in that case they should've just been played instead of the originals. But either way, this was still a fun journey.
I considered adding the remakes, the issue is time since it would've been impossible in under 2 weeks. My logic when picking what games to add to a marathon boils down to how much time I can reasonably commit to them. Kirby is a weird series because more then half of it's games are spinoffs or remakes, so it made the most sense to me to just go with the core titles
@@NathanielBandy I absolutely agree with the criteria. Adding in games like Dream Course, Tilt 'N Tumble, or Canvas Curse wouldn't have made any sense at all. Heck, I personally find it kind of bizarre how the 3DS version of Kirby's Adventure is considered its own game by most of the fandom when it's just the NES game but better optimized. It's not like KiDL which had all new graphics, an updated soundtrack, and new content in the form of Meta Knightmare, but I digress. I will say I agree with turbo here ^^^ that I think the remakes should've been played instead of the originals in that case, but either way still an awesome video. Keep up the great work man.

NEW challenge 100% every 3-D sonic game in two weeks do it because the last person who tried to beat the 3D games, could not be able to succeed, but I think you can do it in two weeks
Rare Stones in Forgotten Land are only good to farm for weird people like me who want to fully upgrade every version of each copy ability. Using them on figures (cuz, yes, I went for crown%, collecting 9 of each randomly obtainable one) isn’t the best strat. Sure, you’re guaranteed a new one (also works when going for 9 by the way, it’ll prioritize those you have the least of, over those that are maxed out!)… but THE THING IS, as it happens, after 2 consecutive attempts at the gotcha machines giving you duplicates, you’re _also_ gonna be *GUARANTEED* a new one. So farming with fishing definitely is the play for figures. You’ll also need to do it for ability upgrades anyway. You can tell the few ones that are special (and thus get a crown at just 1 instead of 9 because they’re special/unique and therefore not randomly obtainable) because they have a stronger outline around their question mark icon in the collection menu. This is supposed to indicate that they’re all clickable! The game literally tells you what you need to do in order to get them! :3
Hey Nathaniel! I discovered that, in Kirby triple deluxe, wheel Kirby is a boss killer?! If you turn into a wheel, turn, and quickly turn again before Kirby slows down, he jumps repeatedly with an active hitbox but still be invincible! This works on every boss except whispy, for that guy, just hold down on the stick on his roots
I remember getting Kirby star allies when I was seven and almost 100% completing the game without trying to because it told me to try to find these things and I always went for them and four days later I completed star allies fun expierence
Fun Fact: if you complete Soul Meter EX with ALL of the copy abilities AND dream friends, the game will tell you you are a Kirby master, it doesn't add to percent but it's nice to know the game actually made you feel like you did something other people probably wouldn't do

Kirby's universe grew substantially with each game despite the relatively minimal gameplay changes, whereas Mario's universe hardly grew at all with each game.

There's also many glitches that delete the save data
@CZ2746isback right but even when I did try to play some levels again and see if it would save, it didn't meaning the battery is dead.

Legitimately the worst movie of all time. Genuinely horrendous.

The friend mode secret message gives you the title "Master of Friends" and the Arena one gives you the title "Kirby Grandmaster"
I call getting these messages TRUE 100%!
Btw. The Extra Mode in the Kirby Return to Dreamland Remake is actually very hard! They almost removed every healing item you could get, which makes a big difference!
Kirby games are underrated
Regarding the ultimate choice from Kirby star allies, you don’t need to clear EVERY difficulty mode. You only need to clear the hardest ones available to you to get 100%.
36:49 If you thought Magolor Soul was a challenge, just wait until you try the True Arena in the Switch remake of Return to Dreamland. Trust me, the boss fight is WAY harder than the original. He has new attacks and he moves way faster. Plus, there's a phase 2 of that fight.
Unfortunately you can still cheese it with Tornado. Nothing was done to neuter that ability.
@@gengarzilla1685 and i cheesed it with stone...kirby sure has some broken abilities
@@specialelfilin Funny enough, I easily cheesed the whole arena with the the spike ability of all things. Like, I continuously shake my joycon to shoot out spikes, which does amounts damage to the bosses, and it can cover a circle of them.
You always need to set yourself a handicap!
The sword ability without the spin attack is a good try, or god beware...HI-JUMP...
Y'all need to give Ice Ability a try! I cleared an entire Doomers gauntlet in a single Switch clip using the midair sprinting attack.
The challenge, ofc, is not ramming your face into the boss' hitbox!
Saying modern 2D Kirby is like NSMB is a crazy take that I can't agree with, but I guess it can feel like that when you marathon it.

@@TornaitSuperBird Ngl, it is kinda crazy when the biggest part of what fans liked was actually a mistranslation. Version 1.0 genuinely has so little to offer, the updates were basically required.
@@TornaitSuperBird They are the same. Void is just the origin. They are the "same" in the same way dogs and wolves are the "same".
Brutal.
Am I the only person that, when playing Star Allies, played every single version of "Guest Star Star Allies GO!"?
I'm on my way to clear every single one of them, so no, you won't be alone for long

You should play Batsugun, Cho Ren Sha, Crimzon Clover, Eschatos or Dodonpachi my man! They are worth your time.

I do think NiDL, SSU, & RtDL DX should've counted for this marathon too since they have extra content for 100% completion. Even if you want to argue that they don't matter since they're remakes, I'd argue in that case they should've just been played instead of the originals. But either way, this was still a fun journey.
He played sm64ds, Mario allstars and the advances series, so why not kirbo?
I considered adding the remakes, the issue is time since it would've been impossible in under 2 weeks. My logic when picking what games to add to a marathon boils down to how much time I can reasonably commit to them. Kirby is a weird series because more then half of it's games are spinoffs or remakes, so it made the most sense to me to just go with the core titles
@@NathanielBandy well can't you just swap the original games with the remakes?

Who doesn't have Meta Knights Revenge as their favorite mode in Super Star?
Kirby: easy to play, hard to complete.
