I remember when Dad bought a new boat back in about 1965, it had a 90hp Merc on it. It did have a speedo on the dash and much later we fitted a fuel gauge. It could pull one skier on a single ski out of the water with nothing in reserve. 38 MPH was about it, my brother was a barefooter and when he dropped the ski off she would drop back to 35 MPH. The most it ever used was about 3 gallons an hour (imperial) and it was two stroke and it was the ultimate in reliability and dependability. I look at this and feel old, all this didgy tech dashboard and so on. But then we thought we were pretty smick with our boat in the sixties. I hate to think of the dollars in a boat like yours but I suppose its all relative (but I doubt it). Thanks for the video, it was quite an education, lol.
@Merrick Wallace you are right, no one cares! I can’t understand why anyone would hack someone else’s account it’s the same as stealing! So I guess that you are a thief also?
I want to see the L6 vs the V10 now. It’s a shame that they’re 50lb heavier than the L6. Also, looks like there was more prop slip on the V8s did you run a calc on RPM vs speed for prop slip?
Great informative video! Is there a warranty difference between the two motors? What about fuel? Can the hull handle trips or does that exceed the mfg rating? Given the extra cost of the 450s, maybe trip 400 would be an attractive option.
Mercury comes standard with a 3-year warranty but you have the option to buy up to 8 years of extended warranty! Both of these motors run 89-Octane. The 33' open is only available with the Twin Motor configuration, you would have to go up to the 36' open to have trips!
Valhalla is the top tier for mass produced center consoles. They are a branch of Viking. Invincible is a step down, more of a fit and finish thing. They are both tops as far as hull design, but Valhalla has more of the luxury fit, finish and comfort in mind.
the 6 cylinder not got enough power for ferry work to high a rev needed unloaded too close to red line. Most ppl will do best w/6 cylinder motors vs 4 banger or V8 just unloaded cruising, but can u afford the multi engine hit cost outlay to get best performance & fuel numbers? Ferrying I don't hve to sweat the up front outlay but longevity & best efficiency is the key. V12 up front cost r steep & I can max mass produce any thing I want to get better price.

embrace the change dont fight it, there is more to come
You guys are awesome for doing these tests. I really appreciate it! Data most of us would otherwise be left guessing.
Loving these videos!! Invincible builds a sweet boat as well.
Glad you like them!
Absolutely fantastic video!
Always learn a lot from you Chris (for quite a few years now! lol!); thanks for sharing this great content.
Thank you! Great information and fun to watch.
Great review Chris. Id like to see what a pair of the new 600's fair against a quad 300 on a Invincible Cat

@Bryan Justus Another thief!
Great vid~ I hope you get to test the new 600r~ maybe run it against 2x300r v8s
These motors seem a lot more efficient than the 2 V8 Johnson I had on my old Cougar MTR tunnel, those were thirsty.
Great content
Great video!
Hey Chris, awesome review ~ how much are both these set ups? Can't wait to get down their and check out your site.
345k for the 400s and 390k for 450Rs!
@@GranderMarineElberta i hope that’s the boat and engine set up together
Correct me if I'm wrong if you're running out of engine RPM before your boat stopped accelerating means you need a bigger or / better prop.
Awesome review Chris. Throw a pair of the new 600 V12 Veradoes on the back and let us know? Ok?
Thank you 🤗

Очень интересное сравнение! Спасибо! Показатели СУ, важная вещь:)...
Whats the price difference between the 400's and the 450R's? Could be a lot per mph!!
45k difference between 400s and 450Rs!
What do you think of the noise difference?
Great informative video!

What exactly is the 400m what does the "M" stand for and what is the difference between the 400M and a 400 Verado?
It's the 400 Verado model, the other is the 400R which is made by Mercury Racing.
What's the comparison to G2 300?
The bigger froze up till diff was 9:11 ish not able to get actual start back time closer then 2or3 sec.
What the hell are you even trying to say?
Good
I never heard of a 400M what's the M stand for?
400 verado 69 mph 450 v8 76 mph . 7 mph difference just this?
Are Invincible and Valhalla of the same quality?
