This ain't your grand daddy's Tower of Power!
no upside down distributors with points lol
@@egustafson I bet there's some roots of where it came from still in there 🤣 I just hope it smokes less!
Hey I still run the tower of power 86 90 hp gas guzzling screamers 👍
@@slabbusterrtr7690 whatever gets er done bud. Be proud to even have a boat let alone one with a motor!
@@slabbusterrtr7690 my 87 115 finally died. May she RIP.
Absolutely lovely. And to think the biggest merc’ ive ever used has been a 50hp 2017
Are these available as tiller steer models?
Yeah but only in a pull start
Would be interesting to learn details of 2spd tranny.
With power soaring, and boat speeds virtually unheard of yesterday, I am most curious about necessary developments in prop design.
Cavitation is a real theft of power.
Contra-rotating dual props, and variable pitch props were among answers seen as solutions in the past.
Have to give Mercury credit.
They have great vision and even greater engineers.
Wow, didnt see this coming..
I suspect Yamaha are feeling a little irelevent with their XTO.
Yamaha probably's got something in the works.. supercharged V8 XTO or something along those liines ... but yeah, this Merc is a fine beast!
Just be glad u dont run an evinrude
That was another sad day in boating
@@supremeleaderarmy9164 already mis evinrude😢

I dont miss towing them on lotw
Finally!!! It’s about time!!!
I always wondered what went on behind those blue windows
An impressive marine platform with some innovations!
Really cool innovation! Good job. How many cold cranking amps would I need to start one of these bad boys?
what if you had 5 or 6 on your transom !
Small nuclear reactor.
Is there a pull start options?
If you need to ask, you can’t crank it
It has a kick starter...
I'm getting the V8 300HP Verado fitted to my New 745 Extreme Gameking with 8mm Hull upgrade. I like the idea of the twin gearbox and steerable Gearcase.
Does this look like a good opportunity, for Mercury Racing to break the 32-year year-old outboard speed record ?
I’ve got the Mercruiser 6.2 litre 300HP in my Whittley SL 26. I’m averaging 1.2 to 1.3 km per litre anywhere from 3000 to 4000 revs which is mid 30kmh to low 50 Kmh - ave offshore speeds. Boat loaded up weighs around 2.7 tonne on the water. At WOT I’m around .7 to .8 km/L pulling 40 Kts. Others I’ve spoken to with similar sized boats to mine with 300hp outboards say they’re lucky to achieve 1km/L at cruise, let me know how yours turns out, it sounds like a nice set-up, I’ve seen a few and they’re schmick. 🎣🎣🍺🍺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Outstanding drive system, some tuner is already out there, wondering what he could do.....
hmm yes quad turbo sounds good
Nothing
I’m thinking TURBOSUPERCHARGE.
@@jimterracall6766 supercharger after the turbos so the dont despool whilst changing gears
Not enough space for turbos and heat will for sure be a issue!! I reckon Merc Racing will slap and super charger on and bump the HP up to 750/800 without too much effort!!
If I beef up the transom with a 2x6, I can I fit this on the jon boat?
You guys are so amazing. You keep moving forward making the BEST outboards ever! Great Job 😘👍😃
Thanks so much!
😂+
@@Jerry-sy8rd What does that mean? 🤨
This is why I only run mercury for my line service business . They are they best . There's no argument
Thanks Chris!
I think I’ll wait till the 750hp supercharged model comes out
I don't think it ever will.
I too reckon Merc Racing will chuck some hot sauce on this for sure!! 750/800 is my guess...
@@mcplutt - ummm that’s what Mercury Racing does
Smart move.
you are onto a winner there, superb
This is a game changer
We will probably not live to see something like this ever again.
American Engineering. American Production Awesome !
