Frank, you are a true genius, creating boats like this amazing vessel, above anything ever before! Of course, I absolutely love your Thunderchild boats too!
What an Amazing Piece of engineering....Although I must say that the Open Covers of the bathing decks do look erm somewhat precipitous above those extremely powerful Surface Drives....Especially when you see how sharp their edges are out of the water........!!!!! Although I assume that they might have been open for effect on the video while filming at sea....!!!!! def especially good if you're a bond villain but even if you're not the fairly thin stainless steel gate does kind of add to the somewhat precipitous effect of it all especially going along at full chat in such a descent swell.....!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)
Absolutely stunning work you've done to further the craft of vessel design in the last decade. I can't even imagine what you have in store to top this, but I'm sure it's in the works!
awesome. looks like a fantastic platform. the sneeze, however, seems excessive when considering the relatively calm conditions. I wonder if there's a small design tweak that could mitigate that. Maybe carry the deck a little further forward between the sponsons? Or some sort of "sneeze deflector" under the deck span?
I don't know whether this cat is designed to trap air between the hulls to provide lift, but that seems to be what's going on here. Without increasing the airflow under the deck it will tend to blow spray out in front. It's a tricky compromise, the hulls are wave piercing, which will throw up spray when I'm the water, but she's clearly fully on the plane. The big fast cats from mti and skater barely touch the water when on full chat, consequently there is huge airflow under the deck. Very different boats though. The sneeze is probably the price you have to pay for wave piercing capability when the going gets really tough. Lovely boat Frank 😊
Well done Frank and the Team yet another world class boat coming out the workshop. just looking forward to the long distance runs at least theres plenty of space on the floor this time to have a snooze. Oh and beds thats if you can manage to stop in one running flatout in a force 8+gale and massive sea state. Need a hand on the helm i know a mad Yorksireman who would to love help you out.
Lol, you probably should not be standing on the sugar scoops when traveling 40+ km/h in large enough swells that cause a 21.5 meter boat to jump waves.
I agree if a deck-level plate could knock down the bow spray before the pilot house. The only issue I'd care about would be slowing this vessel down or the deck extension would assist a wave in burying the bow.
@@duncanjames914 Right sure.... Why spend all that money on building a speed boat only to underpower it so it can go the distance? It is either one or the other, not both. And what it is, is really thirsty.
@@alfredneuman6488 I think you're missing the point. This is a test platform with maximum power to assess the boat's handling characteristics. The designer/builder will likely offer other power options to extend the range. If you're worried about full economy consider a sailboat.
@@duncanjames914 The "handling characteristics" are relevant to the engines, taking into account the weight of each of them, tankage etc. These characteristics vary when engines are changed out. Any chance of some technical videos. Engine choices, set up, build process , prop choices , drive train, etc ? You did some for Thunderchild that i enjoyed as much aa the sea trial content .
agile and nimble on the rough seas, as the name suggests, can rule the rough seas and chose a name that suits the adventurous character. I like the voyagers ship
Idk how possible this would be, but is there any way you guys could post unedited/mostly unedited videos of when you take the boats out in big storms? Just like views from a few mounted gopros or smth. I think that would be really cool to watch.
Kowalski se reinventa mais uma vez na execução de um grande projeto naval. Parabéns a esse grande homem que tanto contribue para o desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias na navegação offshore .
This boat is absolutely insane! Love it! I am an absolute fanatic when it comes to catamarans, foils and surface drives!! Keep the kids off the swim decks when that thing is running! I understand the need for them to be open to allow air in behind the surface props and that has got to be the coolest thing to watch! Show us some video at night with the underwater lights lighting up those props and water as speed! I bet it is spectacular! Can I ask what size props and what pitch? Are you running the ASD 12's? Foils? What's your cruise speed and top speeds? Thanks for sharing!!
I have an idea how to increase the bow deck area whilst stopping the "sneezing" from the catamaran hulls. Let me know if you want to hear it. Incredible machine you have there by the way. Congrats!
Awesome boat! Like other comments, I'm wondering about the frequent spray finding its way over the bridge deck from the bow - it seems like it's mostly coming from the "mini-spray-strakes" on the base of the inverted portion of the bow... what do those strakes do?
I can't help but think the hulls look like the Wharram sailing cat design, even where the cabin starts it looks exactly like the Wharram design. Obviously it's had a bit added to the bows to accommodate the extra weight etc from the sailing Wharram design, so is it from the the design table of Wharram?
As a matter of fact this is the first MY catamaran concept that appeals to me. However as a former Flying boat aircraft owner of many years, water spray is a concern to me at any speed. It causes erosion plus is a sign of parasitic drag and as a result more Energie is required leading to higher fuel consumption. I’m sure the naval architect or the team behind designing this yacht is well aware of this and they will research all possibilities to address the issue within the limitations that reality throws at us. That’s why most of times we are forced to live with compromises! Fact is 90% of cruising is done at most economical cruise speed anyhow, where spray is likely no problem at all.😉
How about some canvas with netting under it between the hulls to stop the ocean spray going all over the boat. Remove the canvas and sit on the netting when stopped.
My guess is NO WAY IN ####. :SHRUGS: There was some fancy 'survival' mono hull boat with tons of incredibly technical gear, I asked if it was self-righting, they didn't even respond, for that type of boat I would think it a priority. I can’t see how you bend the laws of physics to self right a catamaran. It is flat on the bottom and flat on top. To be self righting you need a fairly round boat.
Beautiful boat however it sneezes way to much. If they filled in the open space between the front hulls with more deck it might reduce the sneezing and it would give the owner more square foot of space. But in its current configuration anyone in the second station would be constantly bombarded with sea spray.
What a beast!!!
Spectacular hull design and outstanding performance - the stuff that dreams are made of ...
Another stunning vessel from Safehaven Marine. Beautiful!!!
what a vessel.....great work to the designers and builders.....
Superb vessel, Superb music ❤. Can't wait to see further videos on this one.
Finally proper audio!! Lovely boat

Sweet looking boat there! Stay safe and keep rolling them out! 👍👍
I haven't been on a boat in 20 years and I live in the midwest, but I love RUN LIKE HELL! Awesome boat seriously though. Cheers!
Lovely boat great work. quite impressive how u made a highspeed catamaran very resistant to Ditching nose down in big waves.
Fantastic. Besides thunderchiled another beauty
You’ve outdone yourself Frank. She is very special
I thought my cat sneezed a lot! Cool boat!

Not bad. I dont like the constant spray from between the hulls.
Why not? Is not big deal.

Depends on the wawes.
