I am desperate for some help I replace the valve cover gasket in my 2005 Chevy Silverado V6 and now it has a ticking noise and I am so stressed. I don’t know who to ask for help and I can’t afford to really take it to a shop so I’m teaching myself. But I’m scared to death because the hurricane took away everything I own, and I bought this thing and. Please help anybody. 😩
"It can leak" really makes me follow all of my vacuum lines etc :) The other inspection i do are all the grounding locations. The ground cable between the engine and the body was turning green and got replaced with a marine / sealed lugs cable.

Did it throw a lean code? I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why I get a lean code every now and then (check engine light goes off and on randomly) 2000 6.0
Just the video I was looking for I know all the vacuum lines my Tahoe has but there was a few I wasn’t sure about thanks man and when I did well they can leak also lol
3:10 Any recommendations for when this plastic barb/nipple thing breaks off the intake manifold? It goes into the tiny little chamber in there such that it can't really just drilled out and a new barb/nipple & grommet stuck on there. Also, that plastic thing is like connected to the hose, I couldn't get it apart. I tried to get a threaded pip to a hose barb in there, but I couldn't get that to work either. I ended up cleaning and sanding it real good and using JB Weld. 3:36 Are those caps on the side of the intake manifold removeable and replaceable with barbed hose connectors?
Already replaced the Intake manifold gaskets and my driver side valve cover on my 2006 5.3, haven’t seen any leaks, what do you think the issue might be, cleaned the maf, I’m thinking upstream o2 sensors. Codes p0171 p0174
I got that too, I’ve just left it on. Asked a mechanic and he said the bulb for the engine light might just be wearing out or dead. It’s not big issues u just can’t see ur engine light pop up if something was wrong, but if u have a scanner it’ll still scan and show u
what’s up man i got a transmission problem, when i drive my truck for a while it won’t shift from 2nd to third unless i let go a little of the gas pedal. Any ideas what it would be? Transmission was just rebuilt also and filter and oil have been recently changed.
Just because Matt says it could leak, does not mean it will leak. 2001 Silverado 1500 with 229K miles with original engine and transmission. The only vacuum leak was the intake manifold gasket. Idle was too high and after I installed the good NAPA gasket about 140K miles, Idle is back around 500 RPMs. If GM made these trucks again without the silly technology fads/ gadgets/ and On-Star trackers, I would buy another. One of the best trucks to own.
My 2000 Suburban development a knock out of nowhere one day. I’m thinking my intake manifold gaskets were bad and water got into the engine causing a hydrolock on one of the cylinders bending a connection rod. Sucks. Ending up getting a used engine put into it
Might sound silly bc i know you gave all the information in the description, but i have a 2003 chevy Z71, engines a V8 5.3 Z... is that one of the cars you're showing here? I have a intake valve that gets stuck open and need to figure out how to get in there and fix it 😅
Anybody know the name of the part at 3:31 mark in this video? Mine broke off. Looked up vacuum hose on Autozone for my 04 Suburban but no similar looking parts popped up
Has anyone have issues getting the egr tube to seat into the intake manifold? I’ve been having a bad vacuum leak I can’t get sealed after replacing the intake gaskets
You'll get p0171 - Bank 1 Too Lean and p0174 - Bank 2 Too Lean. Look at scan data, and long-term fuel trim will be very high, +20 or more. And if you rev it up to 2000 RPM and trims will drop down to near zero. Let off, and they go back up. That is tail tail intake leak sign.
Here’s a really simple way wait to the car has warmed up and then rev the gas if it shoots water it needs intake gasket replacement. You’re welcome. Only aluminum engines are supposed to leak on start up. That’s why you have to wait till it warms up and if you were a white guy he should be no problem every time I turn around I just see white guys revving their cars. Every TH-cam video no matter how cool the car is he’s revving the fucking engine.😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😭
@@M4sterT3ch let's say i had all those signs is their any alternative things I should check before I decide to replace those gaskets like word for word every thing you said is what happened when I test it
@JB-qr5io Yeah, the intake manifold gaskets and any vacuum lines going to the intake. It is not as common of an issue, but fuel injector o-rings can leak as well. Pull the fuel pressure regulator line off to make sure then regulator diaphragm isn't ruptured. This issue would cause a different type of symptom, though.
There are specially made spray products meant to deter rodents. If the vehicle is garaged, you could mist one of these products under the hood and around the vehicle. Peppermint oil and cayenne pepper are also reported to deter rodents.
I have an 02 silverado v6 4.3L that random misfires under heavy load. Usually, going up a hill. The code clears as soon i get on level ground. Im pretty sure it is a vacuum that occurs under heavy load. Any idea what it can be? Im thinking of those intake seals you kept mentioning

@@Ladies_Man214maybe it’s not getting enough spark could be a faulty ignition coil/ distributor depending on your year or maybe it’s not getting enough fuel, could be fuel injectors or fuel pump. Check your battery connections as well. Make sure they are tight and not loose.I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad battery and not a very good connection if I recall.
When they do that I check the Cam shaft position sensor if they have at least 50PSI when I turn the key in the RUN position. It should start first try.
Is the evap solenoid supost to wiggle a lot? That 10mm bolt is tight but the thing moves like crazy. My truck is a 01 2500hd 6.0 and I have a miss at idle in I think cylender 3. No codes but it threw one at 5000 rpm and it went away.

Yes!
Would this cause the truck to try to accelerate on its own as you begin to drive?
Depends on the year. Probably the throttlebody if it's a 2003 or newer truck with the electric throttlebody.
